We had to move a truck load of furniture from a two bedroom townhouse in Central Mass into a furnished three bedroom house in Metro West and these guys were terrific!
They helped organize and swap out furniture like champs! They were on-​time, polite and professional.
The quote was spot on and they even sent extra guys to finish up early with no additional cost.
Robert Heckman, President of Statewide was very easy to work with in setting up the day!
We would use them again in a heartbeat!

It was a partial move and I miscalculated the number of rooms so the truck was too small but it was my fault so I recommend you carefully ascertain exactly how many items you are moving

I had a horrific experience in May 2015, and would strongly advise you to avoid working with this company.
We were moving from a third floor walk-​up to a two level house. When I received the estimate, Robert Heckman the owner informed me that I would have three movers, and it should take 5 hours.
On moving day, only two movers showed. They claimed that the third had lost their grandmother and couldn’t come, but from the way they told it, it seemed like a phony excuse. One of them had a very negative attitude and wouldn’t stop complaining about being shorthanded. They said not to worry — they adjusted the hourly rate (it seemed to be only about a 10% reduction).
Out of fear that it would take too long and cost too much, I assisted with the effort. At one point, the bum stopped taking trips up to our apartment, and stayed in the truck to «sort and rearrange» (i.e, browse sports scores on his smartphone). As terrible as the one worker was, the other was amazing. In total I would say that he did 60% of the work, I did 30%, and the lazy bum did about 10%.
After the truck was packed, they took off with our possesions for an 1:30 minute break. They finally showed up and started to unload. The lazy guy was dropping boxes and being careless with the furniture. We had two pieces of furniture that were broken/​damaged, three walls that were scratched, two areas of wood floor that got dented, and one stretch of wood floor where the varnish was scratched because the lazy guy was sliding boxes. The moving took way longer than it should have because, despite my sweat and elbow grease, we were shorthanded.
The lazy guy (maybe his name was Joe?) was responsible for writing up the invoice. He charged me for their 1:30 minute break, an extra 45 minutes of travel time, and to top it all off he rounded up 45 minutes to the next closest hour. When I complained, he claimed that I was trying to cut him down a rung. I tried to call Robert to straighten it out, but of course he was not available. What a racket. I paid in full and planned to contact Robert to complain.
At the end of the day, I gave the lazy guy a $ 20 tip and the amazing dude (I think his name was Johnny) an $ 80 tip.
Robert later gave me multiple assurances that he would make things right and give me a refund. It never came. I got a few different excuses. I believe his tactic is to push the problem off until people forget about it and move on. Well, I didn’t forget.
Another thing — be careful with the deposit money. Robert charged me a $ 100 deposit to reserve the truck. When they gave me the invoice at the end of the move, this amount wasn’t subtracted. I had to remind Robert a few times to refund me that money before he finally did. Really, it’s not a reputable business.

Was expecting a better experience. This was a learning experience for me and I will do my homework before hiring any contractors, movers etc.

Recently my girlfriend and I move from our second story apartment in Brighton to our new home in Natick, MA. We looked up some reviews and decided to check out Statewide.
They were amazing! Not only was the crew kind and friendly, but they were EXTREMELY efficient. They moved all our packed items out of our house with blazing speed, while still handing our things with care.
They even had some moments of genius and ingenuity to move some of our larger pieces out without having to disassemble them. We were EXTREMELY impressed and would love to use them again in the future.
If you’re moving in the Boston Metro area, make sure these guys are at the top of your list.

We have a positive experience with Statewide Moving and the rate was much better than MOST movers in the Boston and Metro West area. (Many movers were charging nearly $ 180−200/hour for a move — which seems insane when you’re not even moving on Labor Day weekend.) Getting an estimate and scheduling a day to move was quite easy, and Robert was very responsive on both phone and email. We chose them because of their price and their responsiveness.
We lived in an apartment in Boston and were moving to the suburbs. It took a little over 4 hours for three friendly movers to get us moved from the moment they walked in to the moment they left. They helped us disassemble tricky IKEA furniture and did a lot of heavy lifting, handling fragile items with care. We’ve been unpacking the house for a few days now and every piece we brought over, including glass, is in perfect shape. We are happy with Statewide Movers and would use them again.

Movers and mechanics… I don’t think there’s anyone scarier to hire. You’re trusting them with so much and there’s so much that can go wrong. So believe me when I tell you that you should hire Statewide to handle your move.
They’re committed to giving you an attractive but accurate estimate, and our final cost did meet our expectations. You lay down a reasonable deposit so there’s not a huge up front cost; that’s especially important when you’re taking care of all the other expenses that come with moving. Statewide’s quote was LESS THAN HALF of one of the LARGE (hint hint) moving companies in the area. The office staff and owner were very honest and up front with prices, costs, charges and fees… all of which were very competitive.
We had a 3 man crew to move out and a 4 man crew to move in the next day. Danny, Sean and Paul did a fantastic job getting us out and Danny, Paul, Tony and Ben did a fantastic job getting us in… on what were the two hottest days of the year. Our stuff was stored overnight at their facility for a reasonable fee.
These guys worked quickly, efficiently and safely. They were very professional and extremely friendly without letting the conversation get in the way of their work. And, best of all, you can tell that they truly take pride in doing a good job and doing it right.
Everything arrived. Everything was intact. Everything they took apart was put back together properly. And everything ended up where it was supposed to without grumbling or argument… even the big gas grill that needed to be carried up a flight of stairs to our deck.
Are you too old to call your buddies for help at the cost of pizza and crappy American beer?
Then hire these guys. You’ll be glad you did.

These guys are absolutely the best. The movers are professional, nice, hardworking, efficient and honest. They showed up on time, didn’t take a break and finished under their quote. I will never call another moving company again. I can’t recommend these guys enough.

These guys are super nice, intuitive, thoughtful & efficient. From start to finish, these guys made a stressful experience much less stressful. They were really patient with us (new house — no idea where the heck stuff goes). Estimate was true to their word.
Personally, I hope the next time I move is when my cold, stiff, dead body is carried out of my house with a sheet draped over it. But! If I have to move, I will call Statewide. So — you should too.
P. S. We compelled my neighbor to open her condo door and freed our couch!

As a frequent flyer moving that is, Statewide just moved me for the fourth time. I am as pleased today as I have always been. The dedication and professionalism which the men display is superior.
I am very impressed with the way they wrap every piece of furniture as they move it onto the van.
Each of the men Chad, Joel, John and Larry are such hard workers and do not stop till things are completed. It was without a snafu which is rare today.
None of the men seem like they mind what they do at all, laughing and yet completing their work.
Mark gives quotes that are so fair and affordable before you move, they rarely deviate
at all.
I can not think of any movers I can honestly say I truly am impressed with!

I don’t know what more one could possibly want from a moving company. They’re fast, efficient, polite, friendly, punctual and affordable. Statewide moved my family from our house into storage, and then from storage to our new place. Both times, they came in well below the estimate. No nicks or scratches or anything. They just came in and busted out the moves.
