I was beyond excited to sign up for the french macaron making class. I am much less excited having completed it today. For $ 69 and a course website stating«You will enjoy a generous taste of every dish» I expected to leave with a good amount of assorted macaron favor combinations. Our instructor was loud and helpful, but with 4 people per stand mixer not a whole lot of hands on was happening. Issues: No directions for how to get into the closed mall on Sunday morning before the mall was open … store doors also not open, not exactly inviting. Why not start class at 11AM instead? No good temperature control of the room … pretty key for macarons. Only one oven was working, so ½ the macarons were not cooked properly. A taste of two flavors of macarons(one cookie per person) and each left with 5 cookies, so 7 cookies total per person. Five cookies to go home with. Three hours. $ 69. Five cookies.

Just completed the chocolate cooking class. I cannot recommend this class. I was a waste of money. Two of three dishes the chef burned. The caramels came out looking like slop. The class was such chaos that I cannot even tell you what went in to the recipes.
