House of Pho

Went for the first time and waitress never came nor asked what we wanted to order, but yet another older couple came in and attended them and completely ignored us. Customer service sucks. Would never go back!

The pork egg roll and lemon pepper chicken. The egg rolls were pretty fucking delicious and cooked perfectly! My boyfriend said the chicken didn’t taste too much like lemon pepper, but still ate it! Lol I defiantly want to come back to try the phở! I love phở but just wanted to give the place a try 1^st!

Small but friendly and very clean place. It looks like they are still opening up but everyone looks really happy. Just a great atmosphere for a restaurant and smooth tunes! It’s tucked in a corner so you have to look for the signs. Portions were great and the broth was clean. I would come back again. The fried rice was pretty good, I’m a huge fan of Chinese sausage fried rice.

I am giving a 1 star on the sole reason that the waitress does not know what the place even has. Waitress was hesitant with the free egg roll checkin like she didn’t know what it was. Waitress didn’t even know what nuoc beo hanh tran was or hanh luoc. With a phở places you expect they would be able to provide the add-​ons that goes with phở. Maybe I’m being extra critical because I’m Vietnamese but regardless I probably won’t be the only Vietnamese coming here.

Shrimp phở was good with egg noodle.

My first time trying this new restarurant… really good! I had the springrolls with fish sauce and mmmm was soo great and very fresh. Thr staff was also great. The beautiful young lady attending us kept giving us recomendations/​tips on how to eat our food. Definitely coming back with the whole family!!!

This place was just ok. They all had the common phở items and appetizers. The only thing that kept me from giving them a better score is that they were completely clueless when I asked them if they had Nuoc Beo (fatty beef broth) and they had no clue what I was talking about. I think it was because they were not Vietnamese and rather Cambodian. Regardless their food was pretty good!

Phở wasn’t the best but other side dishes was. Went there because of free egg roll from Unilocal.Excellent customer service though!

My first review was they were slow service. This time itt was slower! What the phở!!! Just kidding ! They improve a lil bit.
The chicken phở was really good maybe because of the fried garlic? I luv it!!! It was a large bowl I shared it with my kids. We didn’t even finish it. Huge servings here! So, tonight got 2 pork egg rolls for free thanks Unilocal.We also ordered salt n pepper tofu it was lightly salted so we liked it. Drinks was Thai tea and strawberry snow bubble it was okay. Overall, today was better than yesterday ! Keep it up guys ! The place looks pretty clean and neat.

Great place in national city for phở. Fried rice was great too! Has a nice atmosphere and it was clean. Service was very friendly and kind.

I was so excited to eat here. You see, I recently moved from Sacramento to Jacksonville, NC and here in San Diego for the birth of my grandchild. Anyhow, I was so, so, disappointed. The food could have been awesome and my rating much higher, but I was given the plate of garnishment a for my dish and had to literally pick through all the bean sprouts and remove the tips because they had turned brown (not fresh), the jalapeño was old and the lime slices real nasty. If I had not experiences this I would have given rave reviews. Sadly going back to NC with the experience.

Food was awesome! We ordered the calamari and the shrimp appetizer. They were crunchy, golden brown and very tasty. Our server was super friendly. Not sure what other Unilocalers were referring too as our service was very quick. Our house special fried rice was huge! Add a little chili sauce to your taste of spiciness. We will definitely be back! Prices are very reasonable.
Had to come back, it was sooo good. The seafood noodle soup is a must! So tasty! Watch out, it comes really hot! Fried tofu and spring rolls. Yum!

New favorite SD phở spot!
Definitely in my top 3 SD phở spots. I have a hard time giving phở spots 5 stars for some reason, but this one is that good. Wasn’t expecting much stumbling in.
Nice interior and basic menu. A few more appetizers than the usual and a few less drinks being offered. I get a small phở with rare beef, brisket and tendon. It was suppose to have meatballs, but no big deal. I get an order of garlic chicken wings as well. The friendly server warned me it was going to be 15 minutes on the wings.
While I waited with my water they bring me the best looking herb plate I’ve seen. The large basil didn’t have a single blemish, smelling great with a rich green color. 3 big juicy cuts of limes, crisp fresh sprouts and lots of good looking thick slices of jalapenos. I started nibbling off the plate because it looked that good and more than I needed.
They brought out the wings and phở together. Wings were incredible. Cooked perfectly. Crispy sweet garlic crunch on the outside with luscious greasy magic inside. This dish is a steal at their price. Phở, didn’t wow me looking at it but noticed the rare beef is blood red sitting on the top. Give it a swirl and the best rare steak around. Love when I get paper slice onions. Brisket was perfectly marbled with the perfect fat ratio. Broth is beyond flavorful and unique. It’s been a long time I could taste every ingredient without one over powering another.
Food here fires on all cylinders. Can’t wait to get back and try more. It’s going to be a difficult challenge not to order the wings again. The women running this place are very charismatic and friendly. They take their business serious down to the finest details. Refreshing to see people working hard and enjoy what they’re doing. All they need to do is add bun bo hue and beer to their menu and I’ll be in heaven. Huge fan and tip well if you go!

Great service and friendly staff… Their food is pretty cheap too. And the servig size is pretty big for its price

This place confused me a little bit. Outside restaurant sign said phở noodles but the restaurant is called house of phở. This is not a Vietnamese restaurant it’s actually a Cambodian restaurant. Our server had a blank stare as we walked in never said hello welcome to whatever the restaurant is called and he seemed unsure on what to do but he was on point with water refill. We started off with the egg rolls, it’s fresh, light in flavor not bad. Finally my phở came out piping hot, and oh boy did it smell great. Well, the smell was wonderful but the taste was a little disappointing. For me the flavors were a little too strong, it was a bit salty, sweet. Definitely not your typical phở. The broth is heavy from hours of boiling maybe because it was a thick broth and the noodles broke apart easily.

In search of excellent phở and decided to check out a newly opened restaurant in National City. So glad that we did. The place is cute, clean, and the staff is eager to please. We had both a beef based phở and a seafood. Both were delicious! Large bowls filled with steaming phở happiness! We will be back!
