Specialties

San Diego Academy is a private small church school run by the Seventh-Day Adventist Educational System. It is part of a world-wide organization and is the largest Protestant private school system in the nation. Our school runs a K-12 program that is accredited by WASC. We run an English Language Learners program (ELL) in our high school.

Our school not only offers the required curriculum, we also offer extra-curricular activities that many small church schools are not able afford. Our children enjoy classes in choir, band, steel drums, drama, physical education, and

varsity sports.

At San Diego Academy, we seek to guide our students into spiritual and emotional maturity. Not only do we place high expectations on their academic growth, we also honor the name of God here.

History

Established in 1899.

San Diego Academy began in 1899 when W.M.Healey, pastor of the Adventist church, rented a store at 17th and K Streets. Seventeen students began their Christian education with Robert Sanders and his wife serving as teachers. In 1920, the school became a full 12-grade school. After a series of moves, the school was located adjacent to Paradise Valley Hospital in 1947. In the year 2005, our current facility was completed, where we reside to this day.
