Granted my one and only visit was over 2 years ago but I still remember it vividly. A rather abrupt barista with a $ 5.60 cup of drip coffee influenced my decision never to frequent Happy Trails again. The $ 1 coffee at B&F, across the street, is much tastier.

Called at 7am to ask about snow shoe rental. Casey was friendly and helpful. We drove up and got them for 15 bucks, which was 5 less than REI. Easy pickup and drop off. Definitely would recommend, and the coffee was good too!

Saw them make a ginormous burrito for the person before me. Decided to get one too. They told me 5 minutes. Had to wait 20 minutes for it. Ended up being about half as big as the one they made before mine. My $ 5 chai was watery. Not coming back.

We stopped here after skiing in Eldora. LOVED this place. Cool atmosphere, nice barista. Warm and cozy after being out in the snow all day! Will totally be back. As far as the drinks… I got a hot chocolate, which was great But my friend got their chia tea. I loved it! If you like ginger, then you’ll love it too. It’s what I’ll get next time. VERY gingery though, so if that is not your thing, then order something else;)

Awesome burrito and chilled latte. I appreciate attentive servers who remember your order without asking you repeatedly what you ordered, and get it right. Sign of a professional.

I didn’t know it was a bike shop because we went in search of coffee! It was wonderful! They offer about every version of milk and non-milk imaginable including Hemp Milk. The hubby had a classic latte which he said was very good and I had an almond joy latte which tasted wonderful and looked cool too! Make sure and check out the bathroom when you are there. It’s unique to say the least. Just across the dirt road to the side you’ll also see Alpaca’s. Gotta love Nederland! Note that it is NOT in the train car anymore but across the street fro there.

Oh Happy Tails… Now located across the street from their old train cars, the small business has made some improvements(like actually being somewhat clean), other aspects have declined. Hooray for burritos. I guess. Seems everything is pre-made or comes from a package of some sort. Antithesis of ‘fresh’. Guess it’s an addition to the town though. Coffee is still the same quality. Mediocre at best. Sometimes it is not worth listening to the baristas who seem to be constantly complaining or talking negatively about other businesses in the town. If I were passing through the town of Nederland, I would stop here to discuss bikes and trails, but avoid the coffee shop at all costs!

I came here to get out of the cold from the«frozen dead guy» festival. It’s absolutely adorable, housed in an old train car, complete with the old stained windows and some of the original train seating. Mostly, there are little tables for intimate conversation, that look out onto the street for people watching. Also, there is apparently wifi and plugs for laptops. My coffee was excellent and I even had a little chocolate treat(delicious) to go with it. If you happen to be in Nederland, stop here to see something very charming.

Wonderful, one-of-a-kind café tucked inside a real century old rail car from Buffalo Bill’s Circus. Gorgeous mountain views from windows on both sides. Interior still very much how it was long ago. Hip music and talented and friendly baristas make all kinds of drinks including standard fare such as lattes, to macha/green tea lattes, and custom creations. One of the first places to carry Bhakti Chai in the world and they make it perfect. Free wifi and laptop friendly outlets next to the seating. Happy Trails itself(in the other railcars) is a full service bike repair shop as well as ski and snow shoe rental outfit. Wonderful outside patio seating that is dog friendly complete with sand lot for the kids. A gigantic hand made carousel is being installed next to Happy Trails and you should begin to see it this spring/summer. Required stop before and after your mountain adventure whether it be hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, or snow boarding.
