Rug Gallery

I was ready, cash in wallet to buy a large area rug today and I really liked one from this store. I’m so glad it didn’t happen.
The person who I assume is the owner, an older gentleman that’s retired, just runs his g’damn mouth too much for my taste and is extraordinarily pushy! Kept pushing me to try and fit an 8 foot by 10 foot rug inside my tiny car — it just wasn’t going to happen, but apparently this guy doesn’t seem to understand the concept of, «No.» from customers. Then, they charge tax. Um, everything on base is supposed to be tax free. Get real. That’s why folks shop on base.
I feel bad for who I can only assume is his wife working alongside him because she’s actually a really nice lady and very helpful, but the owner — major creep that doesn’t know when to shut up. I walked out, with no purchases because I got fed up with listening to him, and I’m glad I did. The moment I got home, I jumped on Amazon and found the SAME area rug for $ 150 cheaper! WHAT?! So, not only is this store ripping off military members, Veterans and the like, but you’ve gotta deal with a snake-​oil salesman that thinks he’s the master of the universe.
They do have a large selection of rugs and can order whatever you’re looking for, but why bother when you can just stay home and do the same exact thing on the internet. I want to ask how places like this stay in business, but since I was in the the service and now retired myself, you learn over the years that these «stores» inside the PX/​BX are just preying on fresh service members with new money to spend that don’t know any better. Shame on you, Rug Gallery.

This store is located inside the Nellis BX. I love this shop I have gotten many many items from the Rug Gallery, They go way beyond just rugs. They have tin signs in every kind of genre you can imagine. Amazing tapestry and large pictures. They cover modern TV and Movies, to sports and even fantasy. They know which rugs will stand up to your pets and kids. This is a mom and pop and I love just stopping in and chatting with them. One of my most favorite stores in Vegas.
