Elixart

Pretty much my favorite place to get a treat. It’s what made it bearable that the Fix closed. The drinks have so many crazy ingredients I’ve never heard of (like special ants! I guess that one’s not really vegan) that give you super powers. ;) It made me want to go home and research all the different ingredients. The vibes are beautiful and the art is amazing! It helps to be open minded because everything is raw vegan, living and filled with amazingness to feed your body on a deeper level so soak it up. oh and they don’t have a refrigerated display so you have to ask about the raw pies and stuff that are available. The lemon bars are probably the most heavenly thing on earth.

So let me explain this place. First of all it’s in Nevada city, and as such, fits in with the overall scene for the area. Elixart is NOT a restaurant or bar. However it is a social meeting establishment that serves drinks (non-​alcoholic) and snacks in a «bar» like way. With the added benefit of art, jewelry and music from time to time. Food and drinks here are expensive but it is «real» living food, raw, organic, gluten free etc. The vibe is chill, like no worries man it’s cool. And so service can be dreadfully slow, but if you were in hurry in the first place then you probably made a mistake when you opened the door.
When I was here last, l ordered 2 probiotic drinks and 2 INCREDIBLE HULK drinks for around $ 30 total. Now the server I have seen here the most is Magnolia, and she is very nice to everyone but to give you an idea of what it’s like for her as a server let me tell you by the end of the evening she was plain old tired just from all the shaking of bottles that making these beverages requires. So I respect the work she puts in and can be patient and still leave a good tip.
I do recommend this place, try some kombucha it’s a good place to start. Bring a date or friends and just hang out a bit. And be sure you’ll leave feeling better then when you came.

Images of sacred art don the walls of this sacred elixir temple. Actually the whole place is like an art gallery, with tree limbs supporting the shelving on the wall behind the elixir bar, and the wall there painted golden with trees and purple birds. Come here for an elixir to calm your ills or lift you up or… what have you. One sip from the Sledgehammer Kava numbs our lips and tongue, and boosts our energy immediately. The Pur Magic «mocktail» is served over ice and is a feel-​good brew. We add to our luxurious experience a matcha cookie which is raw, vegan and gluten free like most or all things here. And now we sip the chai, which is comforting and uplifting. We are already talking about what we want next time we come here, which may be later on today. Powerful beverages are served here. Relax, sip and feel.

I can’t decide if I am a fan or not. I liked the snacks and some of the drinks/​teas. Though, it does seem that the drinks are another way to get numb. It’s a great idea being non-​alcoholic. But is promoting bottomless Kava drinks really good for someone? It is hard on the liver and only one is necessary!
The art is cool and the fact that alcohol is not there is a plus.

I was very impressed with the selection of vegan foods and the knowledgable staff ! The style and ambiance of the place is very fitting for the area and I can’t wait to go back and get some more Kava.

Delicious teas from far off lands, unique elixirs to make your heart go pitter-​pat or to help you calm down after a long day… Delicious raw treats and snacks… Gorgeous art and exceptional music and entertainment. Elixart is AMAZING! Stop by and sip on something new. You will not be disappointed!

I love Elixart! Relaxing place with unique art pieces on the wall for sale and many exotic teas to try. Staff is very friendly and I’ve made new friends there!

Elixart is super chill and a great place to vibe with friends, having delicious healthy food, or listening to great music!

Now is NOT the time to play it safe. These are alchemists of divine deliciousness and healthful exploration. Now IS the time to try the things you don’t recognize, but feel drawn to.
Describe the results you’d like from your food or drinks and go from there.
For example: today I want to be calm and happy, so I’m drinking Kava, an ancient Polynesian drink which engenders a ‘euphoric island high’. Yes please!
On a practical note: their offerings are excellent, their vibe is beautiful, they have couches and the process are very reasonable.

I went on a Friday with a girlfriend and we had bottomless cups of Kava and Cacao while we listened to live music and enjoyed looking around at all the gorgeous art. Was a really fun and relaxing way to spend a Friday night.

What can I say… WOW! It’s a tea shop, with an extensive tea bar, hot drinks, great food… really healthy, organic living food. They have had some great classes/​music here. Both owners are really nice and let you try stuff, before you buy. They seem to have the right intentions.
Victorian christmas was a blast with the pu erh tea tasting and Avi Burg on the flutes!
This place make me feel good just thinking about it.

I brought my nine year old daughter, along with her friend, after the recent Mardi Gra parade as I need to ask some questions about a possible purchase of a print. They were welcomed at the tea bar while I tossed out my questions. The kids received a quick history of tea by the knowledgable staff. I love going to the store and looking at the prints. I wish I could buy them all as they are beautiful. I really hope the store succeeds as it is a nice addition to Nevada City.

This place is awesome! They have some really great rare and exotic tea. The service is incredible and the art is beautiful. Colter and Sharon, the owners, are very nice people and have done a great job transforming this fine gallery into a cool tea bar.
