Business Owner

In 2010, Robert founded Wallis Design Studio, an Architectural Firm, focused on creating expressions in place through a commitment to collaboration, quality and the desire to deliver great value to our clients.

Robert prides himself on providing innovative designs with practical solutions that meet his clients design, schedule and budget parameters. His experience as a California licensed architect ranges from conceptual design through construction administration, including; architectural design and documentation, project management, LEED Certification, programming, site planning, facility assessments, construction administration and post occupancy services. Robert has extensive working knowledge of applicable codes, required approval processes, and is proficient in all aspects project delivery.

Robert Wallis of Wallis Design Studio designed our award winning home in Redwood City. Look under his news section. He worked tirelessly when any issues came up, is very kind and easy to work with.
One big issue that came up that was very difficult for Robert to navigate, that no architect should ever have to face, was helping us identify and fix serious issues after we terminated our original builder. He didn’t charge us his five hour each way travel on October 8, 2013 to attend a meeting with Brian the Structural Engineer, a member of the Redwood City Building Department, our replacement builder, Tony of Castillo & Company (see Robert’s photo credit of Castillo & Co.), Dave Ross of David Ross Associates and others who graciously attended to help us that day. Robert and Brian were able to fast track the calculations and retrofits to fix the code violations and issues that were not built to the original plans.
Thank you, Robert, we are forever indebted to you for your kindness and sympathy, understanding, and also for giving credit on your website to Tony of Castillo & Company, our replacement builder, by listing him as the contractor.

We have worked with Robbert on projects and found him to be capable with building department and planning interaction, precise with his drawings and details, and responsible to budgets. His flavor for design is very tasteful. I am looking forward to working with him again in the near future.
