Consider the number of complaints filed with the state:
His Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) registrations (128 225 & 163 658) have been revoked (September 2015):

Excellent is the one word with which I would describe DJ Hester and Son’s workmanship. I hired him to upgrade an older bathroom. He showed up when he said he would and he exceeded my expectations. In two cases he did work at no additional cost to me to make the bathroom look better. I am so pleased I am hiring him immediately for another job before he gets booked up. I highly recommend DJ Hester and Sons.

If I could give one star, I would.
I had asked Mr. Hester, from DJ Hester and Sons or Making Time Construction (he has changed the name of his company due to issues with other clients) to remodel my bathroom which included: — demo and removal of old bathtub and window — replacing bathtub — placing new window — retiling tub area
Mr. Hester was fired from the job for the following reasons:
— showed up 2 — 3 hours late consistently for the job — promised the job to be finished in two days, three days at the most. Work was not even close to completion by the end of day 5.
— window installed in a crooked manner — tub was placed in a crooked manner, affecting the pitch of the tub causing improper drainage — faucet for tub and shower starts at scalding hot when first turned on and then becomes cooler as you further turn the faucet — cannot use cold water through the faucet because the cold water was not connected
— extensive damage by himself and his crew to the original hardwood floor that have resulted in the need for thousands of dollars of repair — the small amount of tile that was placed was placed not in the design designated by me
— damage to materials provided by me rendering them unusable (a whole box of tile was covered in grout and stuck together) — workers stayed for hours at a time with no supervision standing around doing nothing
He says he is a religious person, but he is nothing but a dishonest man. Do not hire him.
