Went to Giammalvos Market for the first time. Worked in NB for years. Talk about wasted time. Food was excellent! Prices were fantastic. When you pull up the store front isles than desirable. But don’t judge this gem by its cover. If you go at lunch expect a line. But it moves fast. They have a mix of pre-made and made to order subs and sandwiches.

Used to come here for sandwiches back when I was in College working summers in New Bedford. Stopped in to see if they still had the deli sandwiches while I was in the area. I think that the prices are still the same as they were 25 years ago and they are just as I remember them. Had an Italian and a roast beef with cheese, lettuce tomato and mayo. With a bottle of water, total was $ 6.00! Don’t let the neighborhood or the looks keep you from trying this place, their meats are the best around.

This Market is awesome great meat selection, really good prices, and friendly staff. However, there is a flaw great the workers are friendly, but they do more talking than working. most of them are in the back room talking it up with one another and then i see the staff outside smoking. There were six workers there only two working. Now remind you i’ve been coming here for awhile but its never been this bad. There was a big line too!

The location is sketchy and the building is a dump! Other than that the food is fresh, large portions and very cheap prices. If you can get past the aesthetics you will have an awesome sandwich.

Was brought here by a local to get a quick sandwich. The prices are like stepping back in time ! There are pre made sandwiches(made a few hours ago to help with the long lines at lunch) or you can wait for your sandwich to be made. They have wonderfully fresh great tasting portuguese rolls ‚ I had a roast beef with lettuce and tomato, a bag of chips and a soda and it was $ 5.50 — wow! Everything was fresh and good . Definitely coming back again to check out the rest of the store and look at the meats.

Giammalvo’s Market is a true ONESTOPSHOP! Sandwiches are cheap. We’re talking like $ 2.25 for a good size sub. It’s pretty much a time warp when you walk in as it doesn’t appear much has changed inside for some time. They have also have experienced butchers on hand to cut up some steaks for dinner. This place is family owned and operated so you can feel good spending some money there. Only downside is if you’re someone who doesn’t like to speak up you might wait a while. NONUMBERSYSTEM!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This is by far my favorite place to get a sandwich on the face of the earth. Fresh food, friendly family owned market and reasonably priced!
