We are certified NRA instructors that provide professional instruction in a comfortable environment to assist you in obtaining your Concealed Carry License for Wisconsin, as well as for several other states. We also specialize in personalized firearm training for those who already have their CCL license and wish further training for personal or home defense and women’s only classes.

We are also certified to teach the NRA’s nationally recognized Refuse To Be A Victim® Seminar, where you can learn the personal safety tips and techniques you need to avoid dangerous situations and avoid being a victim.

History

Established in 2014.

Tom and Paul have many years practicing and teaching firearm and personal safety. After seeing how many people have a CCW permit, but are not better trained, they decided to obtain the NRA’s certification for being firearm and personal safety instructors.

Tom David

Tom’s appreciation for firearms and firearm safety and training began while serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist in the U.S. Air Force. He wants to make a difference in helping people to safely handle and carry firearms, take away the fear or apprehension that some people may have, and dispel the myths and misconceptions about handling and carrying firearms.

Paul Hicks

As an instructor with Shield Defense Firearm Training, Paul is dedicated to providing the best in-​class and hands-​on experience to help individuals become educated and comfortable with handling, carrying, and using firearms.

Paul has five years experience studying and teaching martial arts. He formed and currently leads his church’s safety team, and provides on-​going training, support and resources to equip his team members.
