Sub Station

The Sub Station is tucked off of Calhoun Rd in New Berlin. There is plenty of parking lot parking here.
I drive past this place frequently enough and knew about it’s existence for years. I feel like the name kept me away. It’s a bland name. Nothing to piqué my interest and forgettable. Finally I remembered this place and stopped in.
This is one of the better subs I have had. This is literally how a sub should look and feel. Decent girth, decent amount of toppings, slightly messy, fresh bread and fresh ingredients. We’ve all been to the chains in a pinch because we need to fuel the furnace every now and again but something is always lacking. You never rave to your friends about Subway.
The Sub Station gets it. I feel like my ingredients are quality. I feel like the 8″ sub hits the sweet spot in terms of size. This is the middle of the road offering.
The interior here is average but again… it’s a sub joint. We aren’t here for candle lit hot Italians.
For frequent eaters they do offer a rewards program where you get free stuff when you hit them up often.
I am a big fan of steering people away from chains every now and again. Expand your sandwich horizons. It’s a nice addition to New Berlin as New Berlin doesn’t really have a lot going for it in terms of food. (sorry guys)

I stop about once per Month. Good variety of hot & cold sandwiches. Always good quality. Generous portions.

I have had this place book marked for a while and I finally stopped by. The place is in a strip mall with plenty of parking.
When I walked in I was surprised that it looked really cheesy with cheap booths and tables. Plenty of plants all over to make up for the lack of décor so I didn’t know what to expect with the food.
The staff was super friendly and they even say good buy when you leave. The food came pretty fast and I was on my way. I did it again and ordered something I generally would not order which was the 8″ BLT. See my picture.
At first look it looked super bacony but it was super thin bacon stacked one on top of another to make it look much fuller with bacon than it was. The bacon was crispy and lacked a good smoke flavor that I really like. The bread was super soft and very fresh. The vegys were very fresh and the whole sandwich was pretty good.
Overall my sandwich was pretty good but would it beat my fav place, no. It was very similar to jimmy johns with the bread and mayo flavor I thought and for all I know they might be copying JJ. The super Italian sounds wonderful and that was what I was originally going to get so I will have get back there for that at some point in time.

This little sandwich shop is easy to drive by. I drove past it for 6+ months on my way to other chain restaurants in the area for lunch. My curiosity finally got the best of me and I stopped in to give it a shot. I had the spicy turkey special and it was great. I have come back multiple times since and every sandwich I try is very tasty. I can’t speak to the soups yet, but I’m sure they will hit the spot this winter.

I stopped for lunch today with my parents and my Dad and I had their Southwest Turkey sandwich (special of the day) and Mom had the mini chicken salad sub. Delicious sandwiches, very fresh ingredients and pleasant staff. Reasonably priced too — I think the 3 sandwiches, 2 Sprecher Root Beers and 1 bag of chips was around $ 20? Definitely give them a try!

I stop in on a regular basis for lunch. They are only open during the lunch time so plan for that. Good fresh subs in a variety of sizes which is nice since sometimes you just need a little… and some days much more. Good soups and side salad/​pasta dishes to pick from. I’ve had 4 or 5 different subs and they all have been fresh and delicious. The meatball sub is amazing… several large juicy meatballs… I have a tough time finishing the regular size one… but I always do… :-)

Great Italian sub! The bread is perfect, soft with a crispy crust. The meat is fresh and tasted amazing. I would come again, when I am in town. Maybe eat outside or take out so I don’t have to listen the Christian rock.

This is the 4^th time I’ve been here. I haven’t had the chance to leave a review. But everytime I have been here the food is amazing! The soup hits the spot on these sub zero days! After eating here I feel full, warm and happy! Fully recommend this place to anyone in the area. Good prices too with big sandwiches.

Headed out for some lunch? Bypass that darned McDonald’s and head a block down the road to the unassuming strip mall. Hiding here is Sub Station, an under-​the-​radar sub shop which apparently has been a New Berlin institution for nearly three decades.
I came here for a quick lunch last Friday around noon. Upon walking in my nose is bombarded with an intense and delicious aroma. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was, but it literally made me salivate.
The interior is nothing special, looking like any 90’s-era sandwich joint. Behind the counter were an army of women, of varying ages, all of whom looked like they might be related. They were all extremely nice.
You can tell it’s a small business with the way they utilize white-​board menus for daily specials, and there’s even a small handout encouraging people to write reviews (check!).
I ordered the Chicken Fajita Wrap ($ 5.50) and took it out to the sidewalk seating. Flour tortilla wrapped around grilled chicken, red peppers, onions, pepper-​jack cheese, rice, and a fajita sauce. I loved the addition of rice inside; it’s not just for burritos! The chicken, peppers, and onions were decent quality, and the fajita sauce was unique and tangy. At around 8 inches long, it was more than enough food, too.
Sub Station is a nice little stop in New Berlin, especially for an area of the town that’s lacking in both quick-​lunch spots and locally-​owned restaurants.
