Don’t waste your money. You’ll just be pissed. Had a watery margarita that arrived after we finished our appetizers. The salad had old brown lettuce and limp onions. The filet mignon HAD to be sawed with a steak knife and I actually had to eat a bite of baked potato with every bite because the steak was so chewy I couldn’t even swallow it. Very very disappointed. And while we were eating, our waiter came to our table and asked us to pass him our appetizer and salad plates. Right in the middle of our dinner! WT??? Granted it was a busy Saturday night but for an $ 80 bill for two I expected more. Next time I’ll just go to BJs across the street and cut my bill in half. Or we could have spent $ 40 more at a Ruth’s Chris and walked away happy.

Food was good, but they want to turn those tables! Makes it hard to enjoy your food. While the server was competent, he has little knowledge of how fine dining should be done. Food on top of each course, with no time to fully enjoy the flavors or more than a few bites. We were disappointed to say the least.

I went there with my daughter because I was craving a huge steak and didn’t feel like cooking. My daughter is a pescatarian so I looked at the menu online before going there to make sure they had yummy fish options. Their lemon butter tilapia sounded good so I went to try this place out. Big mistake. The lemon butter fish had no seasoning, zero trace of lemon or butter, and was overcooked. The shrimp that came with it was rubbery and flavorless. I told my server this, but she didn’t offer to take it off our bill even though my daughter barely ate it. She offered to get us something else but by that time my daughter was full and only wanted something sweet. So we ordered a molten lava cake WHICHTHESERVERBILLEDMEFORDESPITETHEFACTTHATWEWEREDISGRUNTLEDBYTHEGROSSTILAPIA. Like WTF? My server was sweet but obviously poorly trained in customer service. I made the mistake of getting my son pork chops to go because again I didn’t feel like cooking. The pork chops were hard as a rock. I will never EVER spend my money at this piss poor restaurant. Way to suck, Longhorn. Your food is as terrible as your server’s customer service skills.

I cannot comment on the food. We waited for 10 minutes after being seated for someone to get our drink order. Not one employee would even look at us. My better half being nicer than I, got up and informed a waiter we needed service. Five more minutes and still no one would look at us. We chose to leave at this point. I spoke with the manager on the way out, he seemed generally concerned. This was our second visit to Longhorn, we were giving them a second chance tonight. The first visit the food was awful. Sorry Longhorn, 2 strikes your out!

Service was very poor from the host to the server. They seemed like they could care less to exert a bit of personality or exuberance to make us feel welcome. Instead, we felt more like a burden or simply a mere obligation to serve as customers. The food was even more lacking. The steak was cooked well done and then some when we ordered medium. The wedge salad was lacking flavor and was just meh. With all the wonderful venues to eat in new braunfels and gruene, save your money and go to the gruene river grill where service and food are excellent.

Great atmosphere and good service. Food is good too. Prime rib is so tender and tasty. Love it. They have a good selection of appetizers to choose from too. Great place to spend time with family. This locale is perfectly situated with great surrounding stores. Try this place. It’s great.

My family came in for my birthday dinner. All but 2 had steaks. Flo’s filets were the main choice but my son had the New York strip and my hubby had the bone in RibEye. All I could say is wow. We all enjoyed ourselves and the wait staff was very attentive. I’m glad I gave this restaurant a second chance.

Sitting in the once nice bar at longhorns steakhouse in new braunfels very disappointed in lack of professionalism of the bartenders. The bars dirty and has glasses and shaker that have been sitting for over 40 mins on the bar. Managers are nice but don’t have a clue how to run the restaurant and bar. While manager was talking with us about the spilled liquor around us on the bar, the bartenders never thought to wipe it up until the manager took them aside. I will pay for the appetizer the manager used to try and smooth over the situation. Managers need more training. More evaluation needs to be done on employee attitudes. Good luck staying in business… a once beautiful restaurant is becoming run of the mill DUMP.

I’ve eaten at several different Longhorn Steak Houses in the US. Usually, it’s a good experience. When my wife and I ate at this one in New Braunfels, it was not a good experience. We went there for a quick lunch since we happened to be in New Braunfels and had generally good experiences before at other Longhorn’s. We ordered the fried onion appetizer along with our iced tea. The appetizer looked great when it was delivered, but the little bite size pieces were strangely not evenly heated. Some were hot and some were near room temp! It was as if they had microwaved it and some pieces got warmed well and others not at all! We also were not all that hungry so we decided to share the Chicken Fried Steak(it was lunch). The CFS came with a side of green beans and mashed potatoes. What was surprising was that the half of the CFS that I got was completely drenched in grease. It was literally running off the CFS into a puddle on the serving plate! And the grease tasted old. And to top it off, my half was a little tough(some gristle to chew through). I’m fine with a little gristle in a chicken fried steak. No big deal, but the dripping old grease is another story. And then the green beans were still so crisp, it was almost as if they had been barely steamed/cooked. I ate them all, but my wife gave up. The service was average. Not bad, but also not great. We never plan to return to that particular Longhorn. The positives? The place was nice inside and we were seated very quickly at lunch time.

We came for drinks and apps but as soon as we walked in it smelled like a dirty dishcloth. We tried to ignore it and sat in the bar area where it was the worst. The smell was too much. We left went next door to BJs Brewhouse and had good apps and drinks in a clean smelling environment.

In town on business. Played golf late so had to eat a late dinner. Was going to get some cheese enchiladas but opted for a steak because there was a Longhorn steakhouse next to the Dick’s Sporting Goods I was eyeballing and I’ve never had a bad experience at a Longhorn. It was around 9pm so only a dozen customers left. Service was still excellent at the end of the shift. I ordered a sirloin steak with baked potato and a house salad with ranch. Compared to previous Longhorn experiences, everything was just satisfactory, nothing blew me away, but is was just a sirloin. I hardly ever eat steaks at restaurants, but I always order a steak there because I know what I’m gonna get. Looking forward to my next trip to the area.

I travel 90% of the time on business so I’ve had Longhorns Parmesan crusted chicken at 4 other locations in addition to getting it here. This one was the worst by a long shot. The chicken tasted like it had been frozen for months after cooking and then barely heated in a microwave. The cheese topping was barely melted. Just flat out unappetizing. Won’t be back here again.

3rd time eating longhorn… Great place for steak. Friendly staff and awesome atmosphere. Restrooms needed some attention, but overall great place to eat.

The staff is pretty excellent, but the food is not prepared well. C’mon Darden! This is one of your better concepts. Don’t lose Red Lobster AND LongHorn now. The waiters here are great, but the upper management can be a little crass. If the cooking stays more consistent, I will think of coming back.

First off I was loving this place the first time I stepped in this place. Well 10th time later it has gone down hill a little at a time. This night was weird First menu I got was completely empty. 7 minutes later waiter came and requested 2nd menu. This one was missing half the pages The 3rd one was complete Of course ordered prime rib. Looked great but not end cut med rare but med rare. Tasted as if it needed to be slow cooked another 1 hr very very tough. Kind of like rubber. Asked for a rib eye instead. Did not taste bad at all for it being ½ inch thick and med not med rate like I asked. Did get any chance to be asked for a refill till I was given the check. But I did get 25% off the bill so I can’t knock to hard on the night. I’ll hold off on the photo of the managers watching basketball during this. Maybe for next time if it is bad

We come here a lot for their lunch specials. I would highly recommend the grilled chicken strawberry salad with the lobster chowder, so yummy! Mom can devour a ribeye steak here like a mad woman, she is very picky about her steaks. On this occasion, we had a waiter that was in charge of 6 other tables and wasn’t very attentive because he was incredibly busy the entire time. We had to send some things back but management was on point and quickly addressed our issues.

Ordered the filet and the lobster and shrimp dip for an appetizer. The shrimp were just tossed on top so I sent it back and exchanged for the shrimp dip. It was better but not great. The hand chopped salad turned out to be bagged lettuce with tomatoes and cheese. I requested the dressing on the side but had to return the salad since it came with the dressing on it. The steak was fine thus the two stars and the wait staff was nice enough. There is really no reason to spend money here. I’m sure there are better choices.

I think this is a pretty good bet in a spot where there doesn’t seem to be much around the immediate vicinity. I came in here after a hot 102 degree day at the zoo with my grumpy parents and exhausted kids and I’d say we left satisfied. They were pretty busy on a Saturday night but we were seated within 15 minutes and I immediately began my medication with alcohol. My kids ordered some nonsense off the kids’ menu and I forgot what my parents had as I’ve been in the habit of just ignoring them for the last 20 years(it works better that way for everyone). I decided on the 9 oz filet, medium rare. I forgot to order the blue-cheese crust($ 1) and asked the waitress to throw it on when she brought our drinks. I was sure it wasn’t going to happen but happily it did. The filet was not bad. If you’ve been to a fancy steakhouse, it’s immediately apparent this isn’t a prime cut, but after eating McDonald’s for lunch and snacked on whatever nasty crap they serve at the zoo I’ll say it was a decent job and the blue cheese was liberally piled on top. Personally I’d have called it medium instead of medium rare but I’m always hesitant to order my steak«rare» unless I’m in a fancy steakhouse. The waitress was clearly overloaded and a little stressed, but she never flipped us any attitude and though she didn’t check on us until we were almost done, everything was to our liking so it thankfully wasn’t necessary. I think there is room for improvement here on both the food and the service(maybe hire more staff on a busy Saturday night), but I don’t really have any serious complaints. We got out for $ 91 including tip for 3 adults and two kids and drinks so I’d say it was a fair deal. If you’re a steak aficionado though, you may want to pass or just try something else on the menu.

stopped by the New Braunfels location on the way down to San Antonio, the wait is super long but we managed to get seats at the bar to wait and babysit 1 drink before we were called, the server was very nice but just a tiny bit on the slow side to come back to check if we needed more water. food took about 25~30 minutes to come out I’m guessing the kitchen is short staffed? the place it’s very packed almost like a chili’s or TGIF… so is the quality of their food… but it was good dinner experience. 3 stars for me~ … you can simply go to TX land & cattle or outback or saltgrass or TX roadhouse etc. for better steaks
