UYE: because central jersey does exist [new brunswick edition]

So. I rubbed shoulders with CNJ’s Unilocal elite. And it was everything and nothing that I expected.
To Amalia, my homegirl, my russkiy sistah, and wonderful UYE planner: I only hope that you will be at the helm of many more to come. This event felt both well-​exectued and spontaneous (and I live for spontaneity).
The drinks were on point (as made by our wonderful barkeep/​cocktail artist/​mixologist/​my old elementary school friend Mr. Nieman) #moscowmules
The apps were awesome, and the more I drank, the more room I seemed to have for more foods. Can. Not. Complain. Also cake. cake. cake. cake. cake. cake. cake. cake.
The crew was amazing. First off, is this is what it’s like for a SMALL gathering of CNJ Unilocal Elites, this should become as common as Amalia’s, Kyle’s and myself’s «Tyler Perry Fridays»… a weekly event.
Drinks were once again great… I now love picklebacks (Thanks Mr. CK)
John, Marc, Jeff, Bill, Pallabi, Mr. Gerald, thanks for being dope peeps to meet and share drinks with,
Marlyn and Christian, teach me how to salsa so I can holler at some mamis. Necessito (this happened at the unoffish afterparty at Glo)
Overall, this event? An Academy Award Winning gathering on par with Titanic and LOTR: The Return of the King.

Awesome first Unilocal event for me! Met so many great people and I can’t wait for more events in the area. CNJ unite! Major props to Amalia put putting this together!
The venue was great! I’ve been there many times, but never just at the bar. It’s actually a great space for mingling. The staff was great and never once lost their cool even though we were constantly in their way. I didn’t try any of the food but, in the past, it’s always been great. Their dessert selection is pretty awesome and all out on display for you to pick the one you want. Or two. Or three.
Looking forward to more of these.

Wow, what a great event. Mad props to Queen Amalia (it’s pronounced «Emily») for herding all the cats and securing the venue. Today’s hangover is almost as epic as the party itself.
So… what are the Top 10 things we learned last night?
1. Everyone on Unilocal is super nice and really cool (like, on a ridiculous level)
2. Unlike online dating, everyone actually looks like their profile pic. (Thanks Jeff B for that one.)
3. Amalia’s boobs are to be admired; not used as a shelf or place to rest your arm.
4. While you should always assume anyone you meet online could be a serial killer, John D. might actually be one. (Gotta love those bear hugs, though.)
5. There are a lot of giant men in this group. I’m 6’3″ and even I felt short around some of these guys. (Hey, we’re Unilocalers. We love to eat.)
6. Despite John D’s best attempts to get us thrown out for being loud and rowdy, the staff at Rafferty’s somehow managed to look the other way all night. (Someone please throw them some review love.)
7. Picklebacks are indeed delicious. (And few things are as enjoyable as watching someone do one for the first time.)
