History

Established in 2004.

Founding Director is Melody Meitrott Libonati is professional actress, educator and Artistic Director for the Summer Theatre of New Canaan.

Students offerings from Pre-​school through adult. Conservatory has grown to include over 15 teaching faculty with Broadway, Opera, National TV & Film experience. Semester programs offered in fall and winter/​spring plus 1 week summer camp programs. Workshops and masterclassses with leading industry professionals offered year round. Private classes in acting, voice, dance and piano are offered year round.

Melody L.

Business Owner

Melody leads a staff of professional teaching artists. As a professional actress she performed leading roles in Broadway Musicals, National Tours & Regional Theatre Companies, held a leading role on a soap opera, recorded award winning jingles, featured in many commercials, an acclaimed NYC cabaret performer and a professional educator. Melody created the performing arts programs at the King School in Stamford CT for 14 years teaching voice, choir, dance, acting and directing the theatre productions. She has written and produced a pre-​school creative play CD and pilot TV program. Melody holds a teaching degree from Ithaca College in Drama-​Speech. She is the founding Artistic Director of the Summer Theatre of New Canaan now in its 10 season of professional theatre featuring musicals, Shakespeare, Children’s Theatre and programs for students and special needs children. Her direction and shows have been nominated as the best in CT. Melody is a member Actors Equity, SAG, BMI
