Metro Points Hotel – Washington North

I found the Metro Point Hotel experience to be quite unnerving, and I never checked in to the hotel.
I recently made reservations on June 1^st, to stay at the hotel on June 20^th til the 22^nd. The booking should NOT have charged on my account, but it was charged 3 weeks before my arrival to the hotel. I contacted
, My Bank & the Metro Point Hotel. I had to cancel all of my transactions, which was very inconvenient for me.
Upon calling the Metro Point Hotel on Monday I was directed to talk to the General Manager– Mr. Kevin Beard. He was not available, so I left Kevin Beard a voicemail for him to contact me as soon as possible. I called him again on Tuesday and there was still no response. He finally called me Wednesday evening. He (Kevin Beard) responded that with my cancellation he was still going to charge me, even though I have never stepped a foot on the property.
I booked this hotel in attempt to go to my daughters graduation over 800 miles from where I presently live. I am scrambling up monies to go to the school that I am paying for, and now had to experience the unfair taking of money from my account. Further inconveniencing the experience of my daughter’s graduation day.
Kevin Beard, The General Manager of the Metro Points Hotel has minimal skills in the hospitality industry & customer service.
The Hotel Board or its owners should be aware of what kind of customer service is being provided by its management.
** I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO BOOK A RESERVATIONS OR STAY AT THIS HOTEL**

Having renovations done to our house so just needed to stay one night. Checked in before my Wife came home from working late and before I picked up my son from daycare. Noticed a lot of loitering in the parking lot in front of the lobby. Cars with dark tint and several gentleman sitting inside smoking. None leaving or entering the car. Went up to my room where about 10 minutes or so later someone tried to bust through the door. Luckily I had the top lock mechanism set where the person couldn’t come all the way in. I had to pick up my son before daycare closed so I rushed out soon thereafter reporting to management upon return with child in tow. Called Travelocity by cell before starting my conversation with management. Asked if a refund was possible due to not feeling my family was safe at this hotel. They said please hold, they’ll ask Metro Point Manager if a refund was possible, she returned to me stating that Management said «no“even after explanation of my circumstances. Spoke to management in person, Manager denied having a conversation with Travelocity and that another employee did (not management) He then stated that they had no „power“ to refund my family even after my concerns for safety was explained. He said to contact a. „Fernando B.“ Who is the Operations Manager» and that he has the «power» to refund my family. The manager tried to convince me to stay the one night and I refused restating my concerns for safety and immediately left with my 4 year old in tow. I’m now staying at another nearby Hotel in Bowie, MD. I have left several messages for Fernando B.,(Operations Manager) with no response or call back. One would think after my safety concerns and experience that SOMEONE would have checked in with my family by now. It’s been 3 days since those events occurred. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to the lack of safety and common courtesy as well as lack of professionalism. I’ll update once I finally receive a returned call.

The worst hotel ever! You’re better off sleeping in a park than waste your time and money here. The dude at the front desk was probably the one decent thing about this place. It smelled everywhere. Our room smelled. Please don’t fall for
super low price and be trapped.
Our room had one of those odor removing machines and when a house keeping guy came in with his fabreeze to «remove the bad odor» from the room, he said oops this is not supposed to be here and took his little machine with him.
Although I had paid for 2 nights, I gave the keys to the front desk and walked out. There’s a best western nearby which is at least a gazillion times better than this shit hole.

My second time having a bad experience at this hotel. Last year I booked a room here and the towels smelled completely like bleach. I complained and was told the manager was not available to speak to me. I never once got a phone call from the manager apologizing. I vowed to never come back. Then I decided over a year later to try one more time, I checked in an specifically asked for a room that’s not conjoined with another room (a pet peeve of mines) and was told that the room I got was not conjoined. I asked 3 times before I left with my room key to confirm that it was not a conjoined room. I got to the room hours later only to find out that it was conjoined and called the front desk to change rooms, I was told that I couldn’t switch rooms and once again there was no manager to speak to me. The person at the front desk stated that the manager wouldn’t be to work until Monday. This will be the LAST TIME I ever stay at this hotel. The customer service is horrible and why is there never a manager here to speak to guests when there’s a problem. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am giving this one star because the man who checked us in was friendly. That’s it. One man.
My boyfriend and I came to Washington D.C. on a whim, and there was very little availability in an affordable hotel close to the area.
First of all the room was gross. We were on the 10^th floor and when we checked in, the employee told us he didn’t know how we were able to get a room because they were supposed to have been full. But since we paid, we got a room. The walls had stains on them, the curtains had giant holes, the carpet was stained, the mold on the ceiling was disgusting. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked and stained. Literally do not stay here.
Second, it took us and hour and a half to get into D.C. from the hotel.
Third, the area is sketchy. Aside from your fast food chains, it’s really just a stretch of road with traffic. And it’s kind of ghetto.
Fourth, free breakfast? Unless you want to live another day, don’t ingest any of this.
The rest of the staff were rude, and if I could shut this place down myself, I would.
I hope this review helps at least one person. Save yourself.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was pretty satisfied. The location was very convenient, about half hr drive to DC and there were many restaurants and stores nearby. This hotel was also affordable and rooms were descent. A star for their free wifi and complimentary breakfast!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Came to dc with friends who had already booked the rooms at this hotel. Upon check in the staff was overwhelmed and check in took about 30mins. When asked why their explanation was issues with the computer. The room was dirty! There was blood on the pillows and the bed it looked liked like a crime scene out of criminal minds. The bathroom was the same. I had to fight to get another room and it wasn’t super clean either. Needless to say we left the very next morning.

First off, for $ 70/​night I don’t think it’s possible to get a nicer place for that price point. However, the amenities aren’t anything to brag about. The fitness center needs some TLC and the bar is terribly basic. The staff here are all top notch. Super friendly folks. I would absolutely come back her and recommend it especially if you’re a low maintenance traveler.

Took a group here in October. As with anywhere, there were some issues, people had smoked in rooms etc. but this can happen anywhere. The front desk staff was always polite and helpful. Loved that public transport was so close. This is on the edge of a suburban neighborhood, so not much to do once the sun goes down. Beware… closet space is minimum in the rooms! My only other complaint is that the shuttle could run a little more frequent between the train station and the hotel. Other than that, a safe and comfortable place to stay!

Two stars because of the price but that needs to be taken away when you checkin one bed is wet. I waiting for the monster from American Horror Story to claw his way out of the mattress.

When I made the reservation, I was never told anything about a credit card authorization form. the receptionist simply booked me for one night, wrote down my credit card information, my contact information, and handed me a STICKY NOTE with the confirmation or order number. Really, a sticky note? This is the 21^st century. It’s either your employees are not trained to do their job or your company doesn’t know how to keep up with the technology. Your accountant has attitude and lazy, and your manager on duty is no help at all. It’s funny how they and you even have a job. Good luck to you!

Staff is overwhelmed, shuttle runs odd hours, including not later in the evening forcing us to walk from the Metro to the hotel in a neighborhood I would generally avoid. The shuttle to the Metro also does not run early, so had to get alternate transportation for the morning Metro to the airport. Asking elicited an off-​hand comment about how understaffed they were and couldn’t make other arrangements and went back to doing something else.
The breakfast was half-​hearted, cold, and showed lack of effort. Eggs, white bread with a toaster, lukewarm sausage, and waffles with cold syrup was the menu along with a fruit bowl and coffee that was passable and always empty.
Rooms were passable clean, hot water was lacking. but the A/​C was cold and the Wi-​Fi was good.
I really wouldn’t go again. I wish I read the reviews first, but Expedia is usually good on recommendations.
My call to the management has not been returned showing a lack of professionalism. I will update it when or if I get a response.

Too bad, I was hopeful to settle the issue amicably.

The worst hotel i have ever stay. Seriously. The staff work in the front desk show no respect to me and one guy is very very very rude. When I going to ask information, they ignore me at first, then they show no respect to me. I don’t know why they act like that, I pay them money and sleep here. Anyway, I don’t like here. And don’t choose here.

At first glance you’ll think it’s a fairly busy, clean and attractive hotel.
Then you realize it’s just an upscale motel.
Front desk was extremely busy when we checked in, but they were very friendly, albeit a little rushed and short with us, but I’ve worked in the industry and I get it. They were still nice.
One of the elevators was broken, so crowds of people were clogging the hallway to wait for the 1 (very slow) working elevator. The ice machine on our floor was also out of order.
We had a standard king room. The AC was nice and cold and the room seemed clean. Then I noticed hand prints all over the window, coffee cup rings and stains on the night stands and on top of the bathroom being outdated and only having a curtain liner for a shower curtain, there was soap scum in our shower-​that could easily be washed away, even without cleaner.
Breakfast is served m-​f from 630 to 9.
The staff is friendly and are prompt to clean dirty dishes.
On the buffet were eggs, home fries, bacon and pancakes along with the normal coffee, juice, bagels, cereal, etc.
A lot of people complained about the coffee. Which is understandable. It’s Seattle’s Best. Then again, coffee on the east coast entirely is never up to par with what I had in Oregon. No one cares about coffee out here.
I skipped the eggs. I don’t understand what all these motels have against cooking their eggs. Seriously. Cook them. I used to work for a catering company who used to make their eggs the same way and their reasoning was because the eggs would continue to cook in the pan while they were sitting on the buffet. Well here’s breaking news. They don’t. They’re slimy, undercooked and not flavorful.
So were the pancakes. The pancakes were also burnt around the edges.
They also don’t allow you to take your breakfast back to the room, which is probably due to their inadequate quantity of plates and silverware.
It’s not the worst place I’ve stayed at in this price range, but I’ve definitely spent less money and had much better experiences at other places. It does irritate me that they masquerade themselves as a hotel when they are not.
Our next trip to DC will not include this location.

A work function brought me to this hotel and I was literally there for 11 hours. I checked in on a Friday around 10PM, went to bed, woke up, checked out.
I walked in Friday night with my winter coat, and because it was 75 and sunny the next day I left the hotel with just a blazer on. I didn’t realize I was without my winter jacket until I was on my flight home/​freezing on the airplane that evening.
I wasn’t worried because I knew my coat was in the hotel room. 100%. I did not go ANYWHERE between checking in and checking out.
I called the hotel right before my flight took off & the desk clerk told me I had to wait until Monday to talk to the GM. He wasn’t allowed to tell me if my coat was in the lost & found. First red flag that management clearly doesn’t trust its employees. I started to get nervous & for good reason.
I called the GM Monday and he told me they didn’t have my coat. Nothing in lost & found and the cleaning service didn’t note that they found anything in my room.
I asked him what he or I could do next. He responded with zero empathy or concern, saying, «Nothing. We aren’t liable». He told me it’s a privately owned hotel, with no hallway cameras & there was no one else above him in the company that I could speak with. REALLY?! That’s how you handle this situation?
Why wouldn’t the general manager even ATTEMPT to contact his cleaning service or other employees? The hotel may not legally be responsible, but there is a code of ethics that every business establishment should follow. Talk to your employees and leave no stone unturned. Knowing THAT was the attitude I was dealing with I knew my $ 400 coat was gone.
Moral of the story, don’t trust this place. Privately owned. so they hold zero accountability and can get away with whatever they want.

Look, I don’t know you, but I care about you. Do not stay in this hotel. Unless you truly cannot afford $ 10 more per night to stay at a name brand hotel in Alexandria, do not stay in this hotel.
Yes, this is the cheapest hotel option «in» Washington D.C., but it’s nowhere near Washington DC. It’s not even near the Metro station that they supposedly offer shuttle service to.
This hotel caters to school trips and budget tour packages for foreign groups. Nothing against foreigners and students, but do you remember the accommodations you stayed in when you took your budget tour to Europe? Do you remember how you acted when you went on your high school trip to DC? Exactly. If you are a grown up taking a trip to DC, you don’t want to stay here.
But they serve free breakfast! NO. Do not ingest this awful food, on the dirty tables you will be sitting at. Burnt pancakes, watered down juice, weak coffee, and «eggs.» Please don’t make me relive the eggs. And you will have to fight for this food. Those high school students and tour groups? They are hungry, and they woke up earlier than you, because they have no problems getting a good night’s sleep on hard, hair-​strewn mattresses, and pillows which are somehow hard and soft in all of the wrong places at the same time.
You’ll be lucky if you even catch an elevator to get down to the breakfast area. We waited for ten minutes before taking the cold, filthy stairs.
Also, the data ports didn’t work, the TV had that awful stretched out pixelated image quality of analog TV playing on a bottom of the line flat panel HDTV, the hallway carpets were filthy, our room’s carpets were stained, the ice machine and soda machines were empty, the one staff I dealt with wasn’t rude, but wasn’t friendly either, and the heating unit was loud.
If you have read this far, and are still contemplating staying at this hotel, I consider my hands to be clean. Godspeed, fellow budget-​conscious travelers.

Great place to stay!!! Clean, people are nice. Food is very good. You have free WiFi. Wonderful free breakfast. This is the only Hotel in the area I will stay. The price is right on budget. You will be happy you pick this one…

At first it seemed to be a decent hotel. I got checked in, went to my room, and it was very pleasant. The automatic lights came on so I didn’t have to walk into a dark room. It seemed clean and renovated.
The bathroom however was fairly enh. There were a few long black hairs lingering on towels, on on the toilet seat, and in the sink. The shower had been taped together and when I tried to use it, it took almost 10 minutes for the hot water.
I ate at the restaurant, food was decent, drink prices were a little high. $ 10 for a whiskey/​ginger ale.
I wanted to get to bed early, so around 9pm I shut off lights and TV. The bed only has two actual pillows, and they’re smashed and flat. Decorative pillows don’t count for sleeping?! Every time someone slammed a door, my once pleasant automatic lights would come on, and stay on.
I am recommending my employer not use this hotel anymore for any of our out of town guests.

I wish I didn’t have to even give it one star.
Let’s see, stayed here for a little weekend getaway. Beautiful clean rooms… so I thought. On the last day of me staying I noticed quite a few itchy red bumps all over… Not really thinking much I still scheduled a Dr. Appt.
Low and behold, they were BED BUG BITES. Absolutely disgusting.
And to really top it off I have tried numerous amount of times to contact the manager and have received nothing back. Very unprofessional

Dans l’ensemble prestation normale est ce que le confort est là et bien non pas du tout le matelas date depuis quelque année donc pour le dos attention, les oreillers même chose cela date depuis plusieurs années résultat final c’est moue, le petit déjeuné est tout banale.

I love a good hotel… and this one was pretty good.
Of course I was to distracted to take a picture of the room by the room. It was nice, spacious, and clean! The bed was like a cloud and i was definitely in heaven.
3 stars b/​c the cold water showers in the morning are not a favorite of mine and the elevator being occupied at all times and never stopping on my floor was not fair. I do understand when their is a large volume of guests, things go haywire… but cold showers so suck.
