These are perfect little cabins for guests who want to feel like they are camping without going up the luxury of walls, heat, showers, and doors. This place is perfect for our trip because I have my girlfriend and two 13yr old girls. I wanted to go camping and they wanted a hotel. This was the perfect compromise and we all loved it! Mark is the gentleman that runs this place, and he couldn’t be any more hospitable or kind. He had the campfire ready and waiting on us when we returned from a long day’s activities, and that was perfect. If we needed anything, Mark was there for us. This place is a steal for the price. We learned that this place was closed for 5 years and therefore lost its usual guests that came here regularly, but they are trying to spread the word about this place again AD believe me, it won’t take long. I imaging that this time next year we won’t be able to stay here without a reservation made well in advance. I also highly doubt the rate will stay this low! There is of course a lot more stuff that I could tell you, but you really should come see this place. They also have a website, so you can get more pics and details there. This place is fantastic!

My friends and I were looking for an inexpensive place near Glenwood Springs to stay for the weekend. For those of you who know the Glenwood Springs area, the word«inexpensive» doesn’t enter the conversation much. I was getting desperate so I checked out Craigslist and found Spruce Tree Guest Ranch. The photos and description seemed legit so I gave the owner, Mark, a call and he seemed friendly and accommodating. We booked 3 nights. Spruce Tree Guest Ranch is a set of 5 cabins near New Castle. The owner Mark has recently renovated them, and stays in the main house. The cabins sit in front of a beautiful, clear stream that you can hear running all night. Spruce Tree is quiet and very peaceful; there are a lot of old, trees with plenty of shade, a large(communal fire pit), a badminton net, croquet, and plenty of picnic tables. The cabins each have 3 rooms: a large bedroom with a mini fridge, microwave, and table, another small bedroom, and a full bathroom. These cabins are newly renovated, and while they’re pretty basic they are very clean, and Mark was willing to provide us with a lot of things we needed but didn’t have(i.e. coffee maker, bottle opener, utensils.) If you’re looking for a romantic getaway this may not be the place for you. You may have to share the fire pit or grill with other families; however, if you don’t mind chatting a bit with strangers then you’ve found a great place.
