We specialize in handcrafted pizzas and grilled wraps. We are especially known for our unique artisan ice cream flavors.

History

Established in 2012.

It began as a small venture in 2012… too create what we felt was the best artisan ice cream. In March of 2013, we opened a small shop in New Harmony, IN. By October of that same year, we opened our first pizza location in New Harmony, IN. In 2014, we merged the pizza and ice cream together and called it Bliss Artisan Ice Cream and Handcrafted Ice Cream (or «Bliss» for short). Also, in 2014, we opened our second location in Mt. Vernon, IN. The name «Bliss» came from a synonym for «utopia», which is what New Harmony, IN is known for. In January, 2016, the latest expansion to our business was to go mobile with our vintage ice cream cart. We have plans to expand into other towns in the future and look forward to those opportunities.

What started out as a small business for an «empty-​nester», soon became not only a passion, but a very popular destination for many locals and tourists alike. My husband Woody and I love being in small communities and bringing these communities something they do not have… handcrafted pizza, grilled wraps and artisan ice cream. We look forward to future opportunities in more small towns.

This little place is awesome!!! Great handcrafted pizza and grilled wraps. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Clean, cheery and quick for this relaxed town. Get the «Meal» and you get a scoop of their handmade ice cream. Definitely worth a stop in this historic town.

We weren’t too sure what to expect when we went for pizza at Bliss. They’ve reinvented themselves and moved away from the traditional pie.
It’s a new way of doing it — and it’s great! Think of Subway; choose your size, your toppings, and flavored dressing accents. In the oven it goes & 3 ½ minutes later, it’s ready. It’s thin crust and crunchy, made with your choice of toppings. My meal choice was the the 7 inch crust combo topped with two meats and tons of vegetable, a beverage, and a small ice cream. About $ 10.
The ice cream hasn’t changed, it’s as good as it ever was.

Very cute shop offering up a lot of differnet ice creams, snacks, soda, etc. and a very comfortable place to sit back and relax in New Harmony. My scoop of pretzel brown sugar ice cream was fantastic! Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their icecream as well.

Weddings can be tedious.
Especially when you are NOT the one getting married.
You have to sit, stand, break your neck to see the bride walk the aisle before your neighbor, sit again, listen to stuff, shed a tear or two, applaud, and much more.
Then, you have to wait.
The best thing that has ever happened to me after a ceremony and before the reception happened last weekend. The father of the bride generously offered to each attendant a scoop of ice cream while the wedding party was taking pictures.
Yup, that was clearly a stroke of genius.
We all walked the two blocks that was separating us from dairy heaven, and started to queue impatiently like children. We were even allowed cones! I mean… how could we have stayed calm? Once inside, I was very pleasantly surprised by the display in front of me: dark chocolate cherry almond crunch, pretzel brown sugar, strawberry or blueberry cheesecake along with classics like double vanilla or mint chocolate chip… everything, including the waffle cones, is made in house. And they do know their business, lemme tell ya. Us big city dwellers were thoroughly impressed with the quality offered in this quaint little village.
Those 19th-​century utopians definitely knew how to have a good time. (If you hadn’t gathered from the name, New Harmony was a «social experiment» following the steps of Thomas More:
