All of their sliders are amazing. I particularly love the BBQ pull pork and the All American one. The woman who works in the truck is so so sweet. they park outside where I work fairly often and she has made it a point to learn as many people’s names as possible. I am greeted with a «Hey Katrina, what would you like today!» It’s really just that extra touch that makes this food truck so great.

I remember last fall when the food cart was closed for a week, and all I craved that week was a quack(the Lunch Box signature duck slider) or a Thai chicken slider. I have a vague memory of walking around town like a ghost searching for sliders, but I’m sure my memory is dramatizing things :).Yes, the sliders are that good. That being said, this is my favorite food cart and favorite lunch place. When I don’t know how to decide which slider to get, I just get one of each. The selection varies, and though you can almost always get a tiny burger, the other sliders change and are all awesome. From their classics like salmon burger and barbecue pork, Thai chicken, Duck sliders with homemade duck sauce, to the occasional deserts done in collaboration with another business; or at some point Caribbean chicken and dumpling soup(which btw was as authentic as it gets, my Trinidadian wife agrees). The care and attention to detail that goes into all of these tiny, delicious sliders, the main ingredients, and the sauces is amazing. Also, if you can’t find the food cart, they’re on Facebook. I introduced some of my labmates to these sliders and they keep coming back so we know where to go to have lunch. To top all that, the owners are really really nice.

I was stopping by the Apple Store around lunchtime and I realized that I was rather hungry, so I was thrilled to see this food cart right outside the shop. I ordered 1 chicken club sandwich from the Lunch Box 23 food cart. My order was taken by a pleasant gentleman and was made-to-order. While the sandwich was delicious, I had 2 little problems with it: 1) I didn’t taste any bacon(which was supposed to be included) and 2) I felt that $ 3 was a bit much for a tiny slider. Nevertheless, my slider was moist, freshly made, perfectly charred, and oh-so-delicious. I rate this place 4⁄5 stars for good customer service and delicious food. Verdict: I would eat here more often, if the price was a little more manageable.

Happened to see the truck parked on Broadway this afternoon as I was searching for lunch. Instead of the same old — I ventured out. I am so beyond happy to say that the sliders today were beyond amazing. I ordered one of the 3 specials(bacon, cheese burger). I can only say — beyond amazing! Cooked perfectly. And, as a side note — the guy working in there today — about 1:45 ish — you were amazing… attentive, and friendly. Totally going to begin following you on Twitter and FB to see where you are daily. Thanks again for a wonderful mea! Will totally share with all!!!

A few days after trying the sliders from Lunchbox 23, I’m still thinking about them and definitely still craving them which should give you an indication of just how out of this world they are. Lunchbox 23 pulled up outside my work about two seconds after I stepped outside to go get some food. Clearly they were sent by the food gods to deliver me from a mediocre salad from the place down the street. They had four different slider options for $ 3 each, as well as offering chips and soda. I tried the Thanksgiving dinner(a turkey burger that somehow tastes like stuffing, cranberry aioli, lettuce and tomato) and the duck slider that everyone is raving about. Both of them were mind-blowing and I later went back for a second duck slider. I truly couldn’t believe that these tiny bites of heaven were prepared in a food truck and not the kitchen of some new trendy restaurant. The meat was perfect, both the sauces were amazing, and they buttered and grilled the buns so they added the perfect amount of crunch and grease. A few of my daily clients also partook in the sliders, and when I saw them yesterday the first thing they said was ‘I cannot even believe those sliders, I’m still dreaming about them,’ and my husband verified that I also, had not shut up about them. They are that good. They also have square so they can accept credit cards, which is awesome as someone who never carries cash. If you see the lunchbox 23 truck, do yourself a solid and get a slider or six!

For whatever reason, miniature things elicit a cute-aggressive response from us. The slider is no exception. On the surface, it just looks like a baby hamburger. But the true test of its superiority lies within the care by which its creator poured into making the flavors of that little sandwich explode inside your mouth at a level and rate that can’t be compared with its bigger counterpart, the hamburger. Lunch Box 23 was sitting nicely outside Yale’s Bass library one day, and a friend and I decided to try the BBQ pulled pork slider, as well as their bacon-cheddar-bacon slider. While deep in serious conversation about our research and academia, one bite into this little piece of heaven made us stop mid-sentence: «OHMYGAWD!» we exclaimed. Any other adjectives to describe the experience would do it no justice. Bread quality? Check. Right amount of oily, juicy, fatty goodness to that pulled pork and that bacon? Yes, yes, and yes! Though we were hungry, ordering two sliders was more than enough for us to truly savor what went into that $ 3 slider. You will not be disappointed. Show some love and support to these guys, because they truly deserve it!

I went to Starbucks today to get a drink and while walking back home, I happened to notice this bright red truck minding its own business right outside the Yale University Art Museum. The menu was pretty simple — $ 3 for a slider, pick one from a menu of 4 sliders. I wasn’t feeling hungry at all, but the choices did look tantalizing. «The Quack»? A roasted duck slider with house-made duck sauce? I ordered it, and my god, it blew me away. It turned on all the hunger receptors I never knew I had before, and made me want more. So I got the Korean BBQ Shrimp slider, and it was absolutely fantastic. The springiness of the shrimp and the sweet smokiness of the sauce interplayed really nicely with the soft, slightly toasted mini-buns, taking my tongue to places where it had not gone before. I’m looking forward to eating more sliders from this truck!
