Burgers were delicious, meat had a good flavor to it. It was a bit crowded because we were near the bar but we were seated right away and received our food quickly. They also just changed the menu that day.

I would totally give Prime 165 starts if it weren’t my unconditional love for Five Guys; cause you know, they’re always going to be the best(I have to say I have yet to try an In-N-Out Burger). Anyhoo, Prime 16 has amazing burgers and is my go to place if my hubs wants to take me on a hot date. They have a really good selection of burgers to choose from but you can also make your own. Their bacon is something I have to comment on — bacon is usually pretty good in general(obvi, it’s bacon!) but like Prime 16 has bomb ass bacon and I always had it to my burgers! Their alcoholic bevs. are pretty delish and they have really good sweet pot. fries, I made the mistake of doing 50⁄50(reg/sweet) the first time and have never gone back! Pretty crowded, especially weekends; call ahead and put your name on the list, you won’t regret it. Usually go here if I’m in New Haven(unless I’m in the mood for Thai!)

Excellent burgers. They offer a special late night worth considering. Been to both locations and liked the one in Orange better.

Took our college freshman daughter off-campus for the day and discovered this restaurant while doing an online search. It’s small but comfortable and intimate. They have a huge flat-screen which displays all the craft beers on tap(and their alcohol levels) which is helpful in selection if you are driving. Our waitress was very nice and didn’t rush us at all as we started with the Black and Tan Onion Ring Spindle and Goat Cheese Croquettes. The rings were crispy and not at all greasy and came with 3 different dipping condiments including a delicious chipotle mayo. The croquettes were nicely fried and very tasty as well. All three of us ordered burgers which were hot, juicy, and cooked perfectly to order. The freshman had the Smoker, the wife had the Bison burger, and I had the Pickle Back, served with spicy dill pickle chips and pickled red onion. All three were very good and came with fries. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Staff was attentive and friendly with even the hostess jumping in a couple of times to help clear some plates. Highly recommended.

Best burger place around! I recommend the cowboy or cajun patty melt, but you can’t go wrong here. The fries and sweet potato fries are your standard bar fare fries and you can ask for a 50⁄50 split. The cajun tater tots are also great. They have a very extensive beer selection but be advised, it’s mostly IPAs. There are a few stouts and lagers though. So you might find something you like if you’re like me and don’t like IPAs. The beer menu changes so check out their website before hand. The lack of beer variety doesn’t keep me from giving this place 5 stars though. The burgers speak for themselves.

One of my favorite regular stops when visiting New Haven. Excellent food and on of the better craft beer selections on tap. Excellent service and staff who really care about what they serve. Steakhouse burger is Awesome(… but so are most of the other 2 dozen burger choices !) Prime 16 is my «go-to» restaurant in New Haven conveniently across from the Omni Hotel. Fun, delicious experience — you cannot go wrong !

Really good bison burger. The meat is great. The staff is really nice too. I would go here again and try other stuff.

OMG! Order the bison burger! 1– Food: Everyone in our party ordered burgers and we all were happy with our orders. 2– Environment: Big space, good for small & large parties. I would recommend reservation for large parties. 3– Service: Fantastic! Bonus Tip: If you feel kinda bad about eating a burger in terms of calories and stuff replace the side of fries with a salad; That is if you can say no to fries: D

The burgers here are great. Big, juicy, not overly greasy, and full of flavor. My fiancé opted for the pretzel bun which I tried and it was amazing. I always appreciate the pretzel bun. The fries were just the way I like: warm & slightly crispy. Atmosphere was somewhat dark but lots of noise & music so it’s a fun place to be for sure! It gets busy fast so get there early! Service wasn’t bad: not the greatest ever but it was busy during the happy hour(which is very popular, by the way): half priced cocktails & draft beers.

I find that restaurants that try to embrace a focus on burgers/beers fail more often than succeed. Prime 16 succeeds in every aspect possible. Service was great — our waitress checked in with us multiple times and we were never without a full glass of water. We decided on the special appetizer — chicken Parmesan croquettes … Only four come on a plate but it was perfect to spilt between two people. Also ordered the artichoke dip which came with crunchy pita chips … The perfect ratio of chips to dip! Didn’t run out of dip before running out of chips and vice versa. We could’ve ended the meal there and been sufficiently happy but then we were brought our burgers: Maui Burger — wanted to try something different and this certainly was(in a good way!) loved the grilled pineapple with the pickled red onions and the chipotle mayo sauce gave the burger a nice kick — would recommend ordering the burger without the bacon though Honey Truffle — delicious balance of flavors with this burger … the plum tomatoes were the highlight of the burger and the honey truffle potato chips added a nice crunch — again for this one would recommend ordering the burger without the bacon Truffle fries weren’t the best I’ve ever had but they were definitely above average. Sweet potato fries on the other hand WERE the best I’ve ever had! Definitely will be returning to try other burgers and beer.

Wasn’t impressed at all, sorry… I’ve said this before in reviews, if you have one things you specialize in, I expect that one thing to be pretty amazing! And it wasn’t…I did the built your own burger, I asked for it medium, and it came well done, the meat wasn’t anything special, wasn’t even juicy, the truffle Parmesan fries, lacked truffle flavor, I didn’t taste it till we got to the bottom, the Cajun potatoes were good. Service was good, food took longer than expected to come.

Needed a place for a quick lunch and a beer. I forget why I had Prime 16 bookmarked, but it was walking distance to where I was and I had a hankering for a burger and a beer. I sat at the bar and talked local beers with the bartender, who was a cool guy. Ended up getting a Kent Falls Shruggie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, which is just about the best name ever for a beer. For food, ordered the honey truffle burger, which had swiss, applewood bacon and julienned honey truffle potato chips(basically potato sticks. Tasty, tasty potato sticks). The burger was great, but very messy due to the chips making everything slide around. Generous portions of everything on the burger as well. I subbed out the fries with garlic kale(cuz obviously I’m a health nut), which was a litlte bland, but nothing some salt and pepper couldn’t fix. They have a small TV in the corner of the bar for sports, but it seemed more like a good sitdown place for lunch or dinner.

Talk about super prohibition style saloon, fancy mixed aperitifs and savory menu. Not exactly for the vege vegan types but at least the meat and such is non GMO. I ordered the duck sliders with a sliver of Brie and slow cooked onions. Hit the spot. And them fries were outstanding, not drenched in oils. It’s entertaining to watch the bartenders. Seems like a lot of muscle goes into those fancy town drinks. I will need to visit again to taste the rest of the menu.

I’ve been here twice and both times I was not impressed. Sarah was our server tonight and not once she came to us to ask if everything was ok. She took my drink order, dropped it off but never came back to get my boyfriends beer order. We kept hearing her talking about her personal life with the bartender and how she just paid her last rent check. The service was pretty bad and the food wasn’t all that. We will definitely NOT come back here again.

Great burgers, tasty drinks, and fair prices. This place is conveniently located within walking distance of where I work, and I’ve gone there multiple times for happy hour and dinner. I enjoy their salads, but where they really shine is with their burgers. The meat is always cooked well, and the toppings are great. Even when it is totally full service isn’t too slow, and they always have beers for my husband to try that he is excited about. I also LOVE the pretzel appetizer – a perfect way to start a carb-filled meal :)

Prime 16 gets the beer, burger and fries deal right-if that’s what you are in the mood for. This is the kind of place that sticks to what they do best-so you should order accordingly-and you’ll be satiated. Best time to go is late Sunday afternoon-you’ll be sure to get a table and you’ll actually be able to have a conversation while you snack!

Prime 16 is a gem in new haven, located on temple street. Prime features creative burgers and a wide selection of beers! My favorite burger is the cowboy burger, which features an over easy egg on top — delish! I’m not much of a beer person, but this place has a great selection, so you’re sure to find something you like. The service is great, and your food comes out hot and burgers are cooked to your liking(medium for me!). The ambiance is a mix of romance and manliness, given the dim lights and the chalk boards full of various beers. The place gets packed at times, so come early to find a seat at the bar or at a table. They have a good happy hour(2−4pm and 11−12pm) where they serve $ 5 burgers. Oh, and their truffle fries are exceptional! All in all, prime 16 is a great spot for a good burger and beer in new haven!

This place has a good burger. I know that it’s a burger joint so it should have good burgers, but this one actually does! The meat is seasoned and has a nice crust from being seared on a flat top. The toppings are delicious. I opted for the sweet/spicy/salty combination of the Maui Burger. It was super tasty. The sweet potato fries are good, regular fries are ok and Cajun tater tots are well seasoned but way too salty for my tastes. I would come back to try some of the other burgers on the menu. It’s a good little burger joint(with a decent tap list).

Was in the new haven area and was looking do a nice burger. With my Unilocal app which I always use to help me find something good. I seen prime 16. The reviews were good and decided to try this place. I walk in the lighting was dimmed not too loud. Sat at the bar and started to look through the extensive list of burgers they offer. I like spice so I decided on the firehouse burger with truffles Parmesan fries. As I was waiting I ordered a cherry vodka seltzer and 2 lemons. The burger came out presentation was nice. I cut the burger open and the burger was very juicy. The lettuce was wilted not crunchy the bun was stale not crispy and the fries were ok. Good spot but had better burgers elsewhere.
