Q Conn Shuttle

I made reservations for a round trip from New Haven to LaGuardia airport over Christmas. As my trip approached, I tried to contact them with questions but could not get through on the phone, and received no reply to my emails. I ended up cancelling the first leg of my trip and booking with CT Limo because I wasn’t sure what was going on with them. Turns out their phone server was down.
The return trip was great, though. My flight was delayed and my driver, Scott, was monitoring the situation and called me as soon as I landed. The van was very new and comfortable with only one other passenger. Unlike CT limo they have door to door service, so you didn’t have to catch it at the station or anything. QConn is also cheaper than most other options. If they can fix their phone/​communication issues I would say 5 stars!

Q Conn lost my reservation and since they do not give you a pick up time until the day before, I did not know this until then. I received a confirmation email initially, two weeks prior, but when I did not hear from them by noon the day before my flight, I started calling, left messages, and sent emails. I called them 10x. No response. At 5pm, I received a text stating that I would receive my confirmation via email momentarily. At 7pm, I received a text stating that they did not have my reservation and did not have a shuttle available at that time. I stated that I needed to leave by 7:30am the next day to make my flight and I could not find a ride at the last minute. At 8:30pm I received a text telling me to call Go/​Primetime Shuttle and schedule a shuttle with them. It was $ 78+tip, which I could barely afford. I was very upset because had I known in advance, I could’ve paid a friend to take me but no one could at the last minute. I asked if QConn would make it right and he said he would send me a gift card for future shuttle service. I said I did not trust them to get me to the airport in the future but would take a free pickup from the airport upon my return, as that’s less risky. He said he would check. I had to keep asking for an answer over the next week. He offered me 30% off my trip back and that was the best they could do because he had to convince his boss to even do that. I was highly disappointed in their service, organization, and insensitivity to the stress they put me through, thinking I would miss my flight. I will not schedule a shuttle with them ever again.

Go elsewhere for airport shuttle services. I booked a round trip airport shuttle service from New Haven to JFK in February 2015. I had to cancel my trip due to a medical emergency and called QConn to cancel the reservation (within the time frame required per their cancellation policy). I spoke with a representative who told me I would be credited for the departure trip and refunded for the return trip. Upon review of the cancellation policy I was entitled to a full refund. After not returning my multiple voice mails and emails (to 3 different email addresses associated with the company) I filed a dispute with my credit card company and was refunded. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB. Funny how they have no problem answering their phone or returning voice mails when you are inquiring or booking, yet cannot seem to provide their customers with the courtesy of a return phone call/​email when disputing a charge!?! Unfortunately for them I do quite a bit of traveling and they have lost a potential return customer…

I used Q Conn Shuttle with no problem several times (around 4 – 5) from 2013 – 2014. The drivers were generally courteous, safe, and prompt. However, the last time I used Q Conn shuttle (in December 2014), I made a round trip reservation from New Haven — JFK. I paid for the round trip online when I made the reservation, and I took the first leg of the trip from New Haven to JFK with no issue. However, my travel plans changed and I no longer needed to be picked up from JFK and taken back to New Haven. I called 5 times and left voice messages, asking whether I could cancel the second leg of my roundtrip reservation. I tried to cancel well within the reservation policy (a week before the scheduled reservation), but no one would answer or return my calls. The day of the reservation came and went with no response, even after I emailed twice about it. I didn’t get any calls, so I assume they received my messages asking for a cancellation and did not send a driver to pick me up. I emailed again asking why I could’t get a response and asking why I wasn’t entitled to a refund, and still, no word. I filed a complaint with the BBB of CT and they were unable to get a response from Q Conn after trying to reach them repeatedly for 2 months. I’m confused by this, because I had previously tried to cancel a reservation, and I was able to do this with no problem — and this was about a year ago. I don’t know what has happened in the past year. I still think I should have gotten a refund for my canceled trip, but even if Q Conn didn’t think I was entitled to a refund, I think they should have had the decency to return my calls (5) and emails (3) to explain why they couldn’t give me the refund. It seems like they’re still under operation and the times I’ve used them to travel in the past were fine, so I would just advise against making sure your travel plans don’t change because they’ll never give you a refund or communicate with you to explain why.

As a Yale student I have used Q Conn now 6 or 7 times for trips back and forth between New Haven and JFK. I’ve had only smooth experiences.
My last trip was particularly noteworthy: after a late arrival at JFK from the west coast, I took Q Conn back to New Haven shortly after midnight. In my traveler’s exhaustion I lapsed checking my pockets when I got out of the car and left my iPhone in the vehicle. After getting in touch with Q Conn, my driver Scott went way out of his way to personally return my phone by delivering it to me at my apartment.
Conclusion: reliability, affordability, and genuine customer service!

I have been using QConn almost since it started. For the first 4 years, it was amazing. Outstanding service, great prices, courteous drivers… PERFECT.
Then I booked them for a trip when my travel was scheduled for two months away. They put the charges through immediately. It is against my company’s policy to pay in advance, so I called — no answer. I emailed. No answer. I called again. No answer. Arg.
I have been a loyal customer for years, though, so I just went with it. Then came the drivers… in the past, the drivers have always been well dressed and very professional. This time, the one to the airport was dressed in a t-​shirt and jeans and didn’t speak. The one on the way home drove at high speeds cutting across lanes and talking on his cell phone. When he talked to me, he was friendly enough, but he did complain an awful lot about how unfair the domestic abuse laws are in CT… hm…
Even so, I like to give a small company the benefit of the doubt so we booked them again for my husband’s trip. The drive there was fine. The return was a disaster. His first flight was cancelled, so we let QConn know right away. When he did fly three days later, his connecting flight was cancelled. He was able to re-​schedule and was slated to arrive at 9:11 PM at LGA. As soon as we knew this — at 2:30 that day — I called QConn and left a detailed message. It made me anxious that they did not pick up so I tried calling several times. No answer. In the meantime, while my husband was on his layover he got a call from QConn confirming pick up for the flight that would arrive at 9:11 PM. When he got to LGA, he called for pick up. They told him to get on the Prime Time Shuttle. They said that their last car left at 8PM, so this was the best they could do.
When I called to find out what was going on, they were genuinely confused. They knew that they had confirmed that they would meet the 9:11 flight, but that their last car had been scheduled to leave at 8, so there was nothing they could do. When I asked if they might have told him about the car WHEN THEY TALKED TO HIM, the guy was genuinely confused. He thought he’d done us a favor by making a reservation on PrimeTime… which my husband then had to pay for on top of having paid for QConn!!!
Now here’s the kicker… our credit card was charged twice by QConn. Once for $ 132 and a second time for $ 1,320. Neither charge was reversed, so we had to call the credit card company.
So why two stars instead of one?
Once upon a time QConn was the best car service in town. I will never use them again, but I do hope that they realize that by cutting corners like this they’re losing customers. Hopefully they will revisit how they handle these things and earn back those stars.

This was the worst expercience ever. I prebooked a shuttle from the airport and then back again a couple days later in January 2015, and the shuttle did not show up either time. When I called from the airport to see where they were, no one answered the phone, it kept going to voicemail. Then I called the following day and they said the person who was supposed to pick me up had a problem with their phone and couldn’t be reached. They said that my shuttle back to the airport a few days later would still be showing up. I called to confirm the day before to make sure, since they had not shown up the first time, and then their phone line was temporarily out of service. Needless to say, I had to book a different shuttle to get back to the airport. I then called them numerous times to get my money back, and they said they would refund me and they have not. I have had to file a dispute with Visa in order to get my money back from them since they promise a refund but do not deliver. Do not book this shuttle, since it will not show up! Looks like I’m not the only one this has happened to either.

The worst experience ever. Get off plane, call company an unbelievable amount of times. They still haven’t gotten back to me. Obviously they realized they forgot to send my shuttle, and instead of owning up to the fact they screwed up, they just ignored my calls.
Thanks Qconn shuttle, for the being possibly the company with the least integrity I have ever encountered.

Finally, a reliable and affordable way to get to JFK from CT – QConn Shuttle. In my recent trips to and from the airport, they were very communicative about when they would pick me up (I received several calls from the driver when he was held up by a serious accident on the highway), and when I called with questions, people at the main office were friendly and helpful. On my pick-​up from the airport, I waited about 30 minutes after calling the dispatch center, which struck me as a reasonable amount of time, especially since I arrived later than I told them and JFK was CRAZY that afternoon. My driver both ways, Julius, was especially friendly and professional.
