Had an ok time at this Irish pub. Beer was good and smooth. The live music was just alright. The shepards pie was a bit flat and bland and not really up to par. The fish and chips was great and a good size portion, one big fillet, the breading was not too bad and the chips were good. I’m not sure If I would come back if I’m in the area, but if I were up for fish and chips I would.

Trinity is becoming our go-to bar for gathering with friends when we actually want to hear each other talk. It’s far enough away from the center of downtown, so unless there’s a band playing, there’s not usually a crowd, and it’s never too loud. It’s a comfortable place to hang out, with plenty of space to enjoy each other’s company. Nothing about Trinity is particularly exciting, but there’s nothing wrong with it either. The beer selection is decent(I’m fine with the typical Irish bar pours and just a few craft choices), and the food is pretty good. My boyfriend loves the popcorn chicken, and I’ve liked the salads and sandwiches I’ve tried so far. Trinity is also a good spot for lunch during the week if we’re looking for a place to meet up and sit down.

I really like this bar, I’m surprised it wasn’t busier on the Saturday night considering how great their food is and how friendly their staff are. Our table ordered food and the portions are generous, the food is hot and well flavored. I particularly loved the aioli with the sweet potato fries. My friends vouch for the steak salad and the burger. The bar have a selection of beers on tap. If you’re into sports they have many well positioned tv screens dotted around the place. In the summer they even have the patio open to the outside with screens in the courtyard showing big games. This normally draws quite a crowd and the atmospheres always great.

This use to be the place to go. Especially when they had karaōke. In the summer is usually packed either from sports or their outside tables. But the service is usually slow. They don’t acknowledge your empty cup and talk with their friends when they come in totally ignoring the customers. This wasn’t a one time occasion either.

covered in wood inside, they had a slight make over to some areas and it looks nice. The beer is great but the food is OK. Only come here for work meetings. Would not be back unless I had to be!

Great food. Their beer selection leaves a little too be desired, and it’s not the coldest beer you’ll find either. All and all a good place tho

First impressions was that the décor wasn’t great. Looked a little worn I thought, but what I soon discovered was that this was part of its authenticity. From the super friendly Irish bartender to the super creamy looking pints of Guinness. I was driving so I couldn’t taste but if you could drink with your eyes they tasted amazing! I ordered the full Irish breakfast and I’m telling you, it’s the real deal. Great feed! The fries tasted like home, the pudding was perfect and the tea was Barry’s. Yum. Great spot. Real deal Irish.

Held my brothers stag party here last weekend and I have to say this is a Grade A establishment. From the staff helping keep me sane by helping me organize the event, while also helping me set up the night of, to the great food and bartender we had for our party, this was an experience that I know everyone enjoyed. Guys have still been telling what a great job I did, and it’s a week later, however I know the guys at trinity are a huge part of why it was such a success. If I ever hold another private party I will 100% be utilizing their awesome private room because it’s great for a 50 – 60 person event. I strongly suggest you look into it if you have a private event of your own.

My favorite bar in New Haven!!! I love good bar food and I can always find it here along with the best pint of cold Guinness. Go there at least once a week and the atmosphere is always great. Amazing service!!!

Real quick: Saturday night — poor service, barely acknowledged, ordered an app that was very salty and tasteless, discarded food was left on the bar in front of us for nearly an hour before a bartender took it away. New Ownership: Saturday night, you should have your ‘A’ squad behind the bar, not people who are unfriendly and/or inexperienced.

After our first 5k, we wanted bloody Mary’s and eggs Benedict. the Trinity Bar was awesome. We sat out side on the most beautiful day and had an amazing brunch!

Bar staff is very friendly. The whole restaurant is really clean. It’s a great place to watch real football matches.(E.g., soccer). I totally recommend the clam chowder. It’s a meal in and of itself. Also, ask to try the bourbon hot sauce. It’s local and out of this world. There’s plenty of outside seating. The bar is huge. Nice Irish feel on the inside with a huge picture of Trinity College Dublin’s Library. Closest thing to a true pub in New Haven.

One server for the entire restaraunt. Drinks were extremely slow to the table but we’re good. Ordered fish and chips, pretty bland. My friend ordered the steak mdm well I was served well done. Overall okay, food is underseasoned.

I had a lunch meeting here today and was thoroughly impressed! I wish I was hungrier so I could have eaten more! There were at least 3 things on the menu that sounded delicious! I settled on the Orange St Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious! The fries that came with it were quite delicious as well. A $ 10 sandwich in the sun in a quaint square in New Haven; perfect lunch after the holiday weekend!

My friends and I have been going here since it was O’Tooles and are super impressed by what Eddie and his team have done to renovate and reinvent this space as Trinity Bar. First and foremost the food quality has gone way up. Gone are the days of frozen burgers and microwaved desserts. Shout out to their tater tot appetizer, delicious. We also appreciate that much of the old staff was kept on, we wouldn’t know what to do if Erin was there every Wednesday.

I had a very nice experience at the Trinity Bar. It somewhat recently took the place of another Irish Pub but it still maintains a lot of the same vibe. The staff was very pleasant and the crowd was welcoming. My husband and I both enjoyed sandwiches with no complaints and we shared the tots app which was apparently the favorite of the night. We will definitely return in the future.

So the first thing I noticed when I first step foot in Trinity, mind you I have experienced OTooles on several occasions, is the brilliantly elegant new dining room to the left of the entrance. Now, if you have ever stepped foot in this building you will notice it is very«booths» in the main hall, and the newly renovated dining area is on the smaller side compared to the bar, but it works seamlessly and is rather inviting to enjoy the Irish bar atmosphere while taking in an informal meal. Take it to the main hall for a traditional cozy Irish setting and enjoy all the new menu has to offer. I would like to mention that their new house burger is slammin, just the right bun to burger ratio if you know what I mean. Trinity is about to bring more class and tradition to the Irish pub scene on Orange Street, but give it time, they are steadily under renovation. The combination of a growing local microbrew tap selection and a delightfully refreshing menu brings a warm, and very well deserved welcome to New Haven.

Went on opening night and was overjoyed to see all of the familiar faces behind the bar! Wonderful bartenders and wait staff, draught beer was cold, and renovations are beautiful. People leaving bad reviews really need to understand that this is a BRANDNEW establishment. Not everything is going to be perfect from the start. The owners and staff are all experienced, wonderful people and the place will be running like a well oiled machine in no time. Can’t wait come back!!!
