Under staffed like most of these pharmacies. Bought a shaver that didn’t work, came back to return and been waiting over 10 minutes in the aisle for someone to assist in helping me.

Advantages: open 24 hours Disadvantages: literally everything else Sadly, it’s really the only place to pick up cat food at whatever random hour I happen to leave the hospital on a given day, so they’ve got me trapped.

No matter what time you stop in, there is likely to be a line to pick up prescriptions at this location. The folks that work the pharmacy are generally friendly, but it’s just understaffed. You also may have to deal with panhandlers and people fundraising as you enter/exit the store. One nice positive: this store has a parking lot. BTW, one major point to note: the store is open 24 hours, but the pharmacy is NOT.

The Walgreens on York street in New Haven may not be anyone’s go-to shopping destination, but it’s open 24 hours so if your go-to spot is closed, it’s there for you! Prescription Services: now only available from 7am-11pm daily(used to be 24 hour availability like the store), which isn’t ideal for New Haven-ers who have«accidents» late at night. The hours definitely exceed those of RiteAid and CVS though, so Walgreens still has the competition beat in the downtown New Haven area. Over the counter products: the store hosts isles and isles of common OTC medications, herbals, supplements, and gummy vitamins in addition to its prescription offerings. They also have a lot of medical equipment(pill cutters, med organizers, glucose meters, etc.). Grocery: there’s a standard array of grocery items available. They’re well stocked with enough chips, drinks, cereal, beef jerky, candy, and canned goods to go around. Customer service: I’ve never had a problem with the employees here, but the wait times for the cashiers are definitely prolonged. I think with increased staffing, this could be remedied.

If I can give negative stars, I will. I’ve been taking my prescription for a very long time. At elsewhere, it only cost me $ 10, but since I moved close to this Walgreen recently, I decided to refill my prescription here, and it charged me $ 30 instead and the package was damaged, the cover of my medication was miss…

Popped in to grab a prescription and there’s like 5 to 10 people waiting and only 1 person working. Completely understaffed.

Well you can get just about everything here, if they have it in stock(restock you cat stuff more often) and you’re willing to wait in line for 500 hours and you don’t mind paying a different price then marked. Most of the staff are very pleasant. This place is just way understaffed and very disorganized. Also you’ll get prodded by beggars on your way in and out.

Waited 40 minutes for a prescription before going up to ask them how much longer. The proceed to tell me that they can’t fill it because the strength isn’t on the prescription slip… Now I’ve taken this med for years, every day, same strength and their computers show it, yet now they want a strength on it. I’ve never ever had a problem before and I can’t call my Dr until tomorrow because they decoded not to telle about this issue till 40 mins later, when Dr offices have just closed. Its not her job to take me off my meds and any complications or issues that come from her keeping me from getting what I’ve always had for years, the liability is going on her. She obviously doesn’t realize that stopping someones meds that they’ve taken every day for years can cause serious problems. My attorneys have been emailed just in case.

The worst! I needed to get a passport picture taken. The first time I came, the woman told me to wait a minute, then loaded ink into the printer for 10 minutes while I was standing there. Then she told me the printer took an hour to warm up and could I come back. After she had me wait for 10 minutes! I was like, why didn’t you just tell me that to begin with?! Then I came back the next day and a different woman was working there. She said she’d be right with me, then she rang someone up. Then while I was waiting 3 more people got in line and she kept ringing them up while I was standing right there waiting. Finally I just left. This place has the absolute worst customer service. They are just rude! I’m never coming back here.

Disgusting service, disgusting store, I’m just disgusted with these people! DONOTFILLYOURSCRIPTSHERE, EVER!

Whereas I wouldn’t swear to it, I’m pretty sure this Walgreens is the gateway to hell.

Never again. It was only around 6pm and I felt like I was endangered of being robbed in front of this store. I had to put my «I wish you would» face on to and from my car. There was a menagerie of loonies, homeless, corner boys, and young ladies up to no good just standing in front of the store. I got ice grilled all the way from my car to the store door. On my short visit there was one looney who was walking in and out of the store and shouting that he needed a random item, but then would walk out and do the same thing again(but shouting for a different item) a few minutes later. Worst Walgreens ever!

If I could give this Walgreens pharmacy negative stars I would. Every single month I have to fight tooth and nail to get my prescription filled. They make no effort at attempting to help in any way.

I give this Walgreen’s five stars for a few reasons. Number one, it is a 24 hour store. This means if I have to run in on my way to work at 530am, that I can. The pharmacy is 24 hours as well. The staff there(although high turnover rate) have always been good to me. Very large parking lot, sometimes there are knuckleheads looking for change.

This Walgreens is laughably bad. The markup on nearly the entire inventory is outrageous, as there is almost no competition downtown(must be in cahoots with the RiteAid on Church). Expect to wait ten minutes in line for the cashier while someone in front of you tries to buy cigarettes using money from some foreign planet or some such nonsense. Does earn a second star for the 24 hr pharmacy, I imagine people find that handy.

I walk by this Walgreens quite a lot so I end up shopping in it. They have a nice selection of cosmetics, chocolates, and hygienic essentials. They also have a 24⁄7 pharmacy which is especially nice for when I have emergency red eye and need eye drops. They also have a clearance rack by the cosmetics section that I occasionally find very nice products at. You have to sift through their«sales», but there’ll sometimes be hair products on sale for 50−80% off. There are times when the lines are a bit long, but the trick is to go to the pharmacy, cosmetics, or photo section and get someone to ring you up there. The line is shorter, and if they’re quick, it’s a lot more convenient.

This is by far the worst Walgreens I’ve ever been to! Totally unresponsive, lackadaisical, uncaring and ineptly managed. If at all possible, use the Walgreens in Hamden or Branford… or the Whalley Avenue location at Whalley & Norton. In addition to this panning, I’ve sent a strong letter of complaint to Walgreens Corporate HQ. I wish there were a way to give NEGATIVE stars! This place rates a –4.

This store has such a terrible selection of many of the necessities. I went looking for dishwasher detergent and there were two choices. I don’t know if they were out of the other choices, but this isn’t the first time I’ve had trouble finding things there. Another time I went looking for a shower poof and they had none. They do have milk, juice, and other necessities, though, which is good because New Haven doesn’t have a grocery store. Overall, though, the selection at this particular Walgreen’s is pretty sub-par. On a positive note, it is really convenient, and the pharmacy is efficient.

It’s a Walgreens, so you know what it does. However, when I had an unknown allergic reaction at 1am, it was the only pharmacy in the area that was open. For that reason, they will continue to get my business over other locations.
