Sal’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant

I write this review with a sad face on, because I truly was happy to try Sals. I was less than impressed, or even content, with the pizza. I really wanted it to be good! My boyfriend and I were starving and were in the mood for a good pizza pie. Sals had good reviews on Unilocal,so why not?! We picked up our new prized possession with a side of garlic knots and scurried out the door to get home. As soon as we got in, we sat down and took a big piece out for each of us, and took a big bite at the same time. Usually we «ooh» and «aah» over pizza, but the disappointment automatically came through. This pizza was floppy, tasteless, and cheaply made. I quick decided to taste the crust — usually some hope lies there. But nope, cardboard was the first word that came to mind. So, we had the garlic knots left. Everything was still O.K. I popped one in my mouth and I was amazed that it was still, just as tasteless. I couldn’t have even complimented the garlic taste (lack thereof)
My boyfriend and I will skip this one next time. We’re really on the lookout for a solid pizza place. This place just made me sad. Especially since they are ACTUALLY Italian!

I’ve had the pizza and the subs a few times through work functions since they are right down the road from us. The pizza is your typical greasy by the slice pizza. It’s nothing great in my opinion, but better than your chain pizza joints. The subs are also just average and the turkey and ham in them didn’t strike me as very fresh. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but if you’re nearby and not real picky, it’ll do the job.

Great family owned restaurant! The owners are always friendly and the food is great. I love that they have a drive thru for picking up take out.

I don’t care for the pizza but the cheesesteaks and stromboli is pretty good. I love they have a take out window, makes it easy when the kids are in the car.

We have friends who are locals here and like the stromboli. Based on that we tried it for a late lunch. It’s a clean, spacious mom-​and-​pop place. Order at the counter and the bring the food out. A good variety of pizza by the slice too.
We got a cheese steak hoagie (cheese steak with lettuce/​tomato/​onion, toasted roll) and and eggplant parm sandwich. They were both decent renditions, tasty, hot and quick.
Service was friendly and efficient. We’ll stop back nex time we are in town.

I love this place for its triangle shaped pizza and its roof provides adequate protection from the elements. We didn’t have to provide our own plates or cutlery and the atmosphere was rich in oxygen! One complaint, the walls are simply not canary yellow enough for my standards. Still, if you like a pizza shop to be named Sal’s, THIS is the place for you! (Edit: please remember that SICILIAN slices will be square)

I go in here for a slice or two every couple weeks at lunch. Always a great experience, friendly and fast service! The pizza is great, so are the garlic knots (you had better love garlic and have mints for afterward!). I have been told the sandwiches are also great, stay tuned, I’ll have to try those the next couple visits.

Once I get another car, I will drive the 10 miles just to eat a cheese steak. I’m originally from Philly and this beats a lot of Philly’s steaks.

I’ve been eating there for years and think their cheese steaks are the best in the area. The subs are also great!
