it’s our first time here. we went with the coupon we received. however, no coupon accepted in this store. they argued that they have already charged cheap which is not true. it’s all the same price in the other lemon tree salon. they cut my kid’s hair terrible and make him cry! please don’t even get a try all.

I purchased a Groupon, scheduled an appointment on Mother’s Day weekend, drove 30 minutes through horrible traffic, and paid for parking only to be treated with absolute rudeness and disrespect and refused service. I was told my hair was too damaged and they did not want to be responsible for doing highlights. I explained that my roots, where I wanted the highlights, is virgin hair and completely undamaged, and then I was told that my hair was«too thin» and that I should get my money back from Groupon(as the woman rudely walked away). No offer to do the cut, conditioning treatment, or style, all of which were part of the Groupon package. Happy Mother’s Day to me. I’ve never had such an upsetting, belittling experience at a salon in all my life. Clearly, they just didn’t have time to see me and/or don’t have the ability to apply highlights only to roots, which any professional salon can do.

After searching for a long time for a good place to get my haircut, I came across this place. They were nice and very understanding. And what do I say I got the cut I was looking for. Though I forgot the name of the lady who did it still I am definitely going to go there again.

NO customer loyalty– I had been seeing Hannah for years, always for a quick trim and looking at the price list listed, she ALWAYS overcharged me. I tied her for color/root touch ups and noticed her putting water in the dye bottle to get more dye use, ugh! Last time I went I had called her and asked if she could do a body wave and whew emphatically said, YES! but NO! I left with a «Terrible» perm. I called later that day to tell her that I was not happy and needed to wash it out, she didn’t even apologize !!! Cheaters and liars!!! Overcharge and don’t know what they’re doing!!!

I was hesitant to take my toddlers but someone told me they do a decent trim. Unfortunately, the lady just went straight through with a scissor. She didn’t section the hair it to make it even. It was a complete hack job — crooked and long bits. I had to go elsewhere to get it fixed.

I’ve had a couple of scheduling problems with them the past recent times I went, but nothing they weren’t able to work with(I called requesting a dye, they wrote down blow out… that kind of thing). I’ve had both Hannah and Kathy. Hannah is great at styling. She also takes her time and you get a really good look at her technique. I’ve mimicked it at home and while it doesn’t come out as nice, it’s definitely presentable. When I came in here for a dye job, I decided go with a purplish-red color. I was scheduled to have an appointment with Hannah, but when I showed her the picture she didn’t feel comfortable with the colors. That’s fine, I’d rather someone be honest about that then try it. Instead, Kathy swung in and because I had arrived about 15 minutes early, she was able to take me before her next appointment(so if she was late on you, that’s probably cause of me). Being that my hair color had previously grown out, and my ends were way lighter than my roots. Kathy crafted 3 separate dies. A dark red dye for my ends so they could match the dark of my roots, and a medium red for the bulk of my head. It came out great. So general note: for crazy colors go to Kathy and be explicit/have them read back to you your appointment

I’m sure that there are stylists that know what they are doing at this location, however my experience didn’t reflect that. I told the woman that I wanted to keep the angle to the front. The opposite was done. It was easier to just not say anything since in order to fix it she would have had to cut it even shorter. Also, when I got home and looked in the mirror I noticed one side was longer than the other. I asked my husband what he saw and he agreed. I’m going back to my usual lemon tree from now on. :(

I’ve been going to Kathy for the past 8 yrs at Lemon Tree, and I wouldn’t let anyone else there do my hair. She is so very knowledgable about color and the newest styles. She also knows what would and wouldn’t work for me. She is also on time with her appts without rushing anyone in her chair. I have sent 5 of my friends to her and they love her as well! I will follow Kathy wherever she goes. She rocks!!!

I was recently in Lemon Tree for cut and blow out. I do not remember the stylist’s name but she was a thin lady with bad skin(that has no relevance, just a description), and she was extremely rude to me while leaving her station many times to talk on her cell phone and to greet a child who was dropped off by a friend. IF I ever go back there I will be sure not to have her do my hair ever again. She cut it uneven and I had to ask her to blow dry it more because it was still wet when she told me she was finished. NOT! She was RUDE enough to tell me to see someone else if I ever come back. I certainly will do that. I only will go there because it is more convenient that the other Lemon Tree shops in Bayside and Great Neck. Parking is not great in NHP however it is better than the other locations on my way home from work. I have since found out her name is KATHY. I now know NOT to make an appointment with her. Dreadful experience. I have gone back because there are other hair stylists there who are nice. I make sure to never go on a day I know that RUDE woman will be there.

I’ve come to this salon ever since I was little and love it even now that I am an adult. The staff isn’t uptight and superficial like other salons and of course their prices are SUpER affordable compared to other salons as well. I like that I can converse with the girls and they can tell me about their lives back without making me feel out of place(free therapy lol). My daughter is mixed and I am even pleased at the wonders they work on her hair. Overall this is a place that makes u feel like you are at home and the environment if very welcoming-the staff is hilarious!

I would never recommend anyone come to this place, EVER! It made it very awkward when Angie started gossiping about her coworkers in front of me– the customer. Then, if that wasn’t bad enough, said her last customer was annoying because she couldn’t speak English. How rude! Why don’t you go to another country and try to speak a foreign language? I would have said something if my hair wasn’t covered in bleach. At the mercy of this woman. Never go to Angie. She is rude!

I love how well Agatha, my hair dresser at Lemon Tree, cuts my hair. I show her a picture of the hairstyle I’d like to get and she always does a great job with the layers — so well that I get compliments all the time! I’m lucky to have found her — plus the prices are more than reasonable.

I have been coming here since i was in high school. I usually come here to just have my hair done for weddings and special occassions. Most of the time i have come i have seen Mary. She is super sweet and always does a great job. Usually when i come in i usually search online(magazines old days) and asked can we do something like this. She will always make a recommendation and since she is the hair expert that i have trusted. I made my appointment for 9am. I arrived at 845 I was taken to the seat about 9:05 I was finished At 9:58 When she saw me come in she walked over said she had to finish blowing out her clients hair and asked what are we doing today. I showed her a picture and she said i will have the curling iron warm up. Now i came with my hair previously washed because hair with no product will hold best. Eith natural oils. Plus it speeds up the process… Who wants to sit in a salon all day. My hair is med to long length and i think she did a superb job! It was $ 55 for half up/half down. I guess that is the going rate. She put lots of hairspray and it held up the whole night!

I now know the difference between a $ 50 haircut and a $ 15 dollar haircut. I came to this salon for the first time today because I decided that I absolutely could not go another day without getting a trim. I called, made an appointment and they said Kim would be cutting my hair. I am not exaggerating when I say this: the cushion on the stylist’s chair hadn’t even completely compressed from my ass before my haircut was over! Between the shampoo and the haircut(no blow dry), I was done in 10 minutes. Would I go back? probably not. *for the record: I am a licensed cosmetologist, myself, but I do not work in a salon.

Had a blowout done today. While it’s not as fancy as some salons, the price is right. Angie did an amazing job of straightening my hair — which is usually an unruly mess. Everyone was friendly and professional. The only thing I did not like was the girl who washed my hair. She had a bracelet on and I was afraid it would get stuck in my hair(but it didn’t). Other than that, it was a great experience.

I’ve gone here a bunch of times. I’ve always found the staff to be super friendly. They’re usually packed which must mean something pretty good for the business and employees. My most recent trip was good. Just a wash and blowout. The woman doing my hair didn’t ask what I wanted so I found the final look to be a little boring but still nice. And it’s holding up well in the summer weather. Overall this is a place I’m happy to return to. Good prices for what you get. Mary is super sweet. If you can get her, then ask for her.

I made an appt for 12 pm. All i needed was to have my hair blown out for a wedding. I asked to make sure that i would be seen exactly at 12 bc i didnt want to be rushed for the wedding. I arrived at 12. I sat around for 15 minutes. Then, i was invited to sit in a chair, where i was ignored by the overly chatty hairdresser. After buying candy for some kids, and giggling over some jewelry being sold, I sat in her chair for ten minutes without her doing anything. When she left me to check on her lunch in the back without excusing herself, i walked out. Nonsense.
