Store must have changed owners. 85% of the staff is now of middle aged Indian decent and the cashiers are not speaking English in front of customers. It is rude to speak another language in front of customers. How do you know they’re not talking about you? I have never been in a supermarket where people speak a different language in front of its customers, I would never do that at work. Also the floors lately have been filthy. The floor by the fruit last visit and this one was filthy as were the floors by the registers. If the floors are that dirty in the front, what does the storage room look like in the back? On the plus side, there have been more cashiers. I think I am going to be joining the masses of locals and switching supermarkets. The store started out very strong but this neighborhood is very diverse and what made this supermarket so appealing was that it was clean and its employees represented the great diversity of youth and various ages that makes our Queens/​Long Island border so fabulous. That is now gone.

Hate to give a bad review to a supermarket just because their bottle deposit redemption station is like walking into a dirty public bathroom. The room has a stench of bad beer, wet floors and people with big bags of unsorted bottles/​cans.
I’m glad my visit to this part of the supermarket is usually a short wait (if all machines are working). If any of the machines are broken, expect to see a line of annoyed people with little or no patience.
Sometimes arguments can arise over people’s lack of patience. People should understand that the general rule is «first come, first serve».
If you don’t like to wait, then come back with your bottles/​cans at another time…

Great selection of items. Store is clean and run well. Wish they had more cashiers to help get you on your way. Great parking. We like to visit late at night & beat the crowds.

Love this store! Huge store, well stocked. SCAN IT app on my phone gets me through the store’s check out super quick. Separate health food store, pharmacy, bakery, florist and starbucks. Sushi chef making fresh sushi in the store. Staff polite and helpful. It’s a bit far for me but the bay terrace store is very inferior so I drive out to this store.

Produce and Bakery depts are excellent! Deli Dept is OK, but clerks seem bothered if you ask for more than 2 items. Meat Dept often looks like a swarm of locusts has run through the place with larger cuts of meat, for roasts, not available. My biggest problem with this Stop & Shop location is that the bottle return machines will not take my Poland Springs water bottles! What’s up with that?! My family goes through a tremendous amount of water; I often find myself abandoning bags of Poland Springs water bottles in the bottle room because they are repeatedly rejected. If I buy them there (the usual 3 cases for $ 12), why can’t I return them there? This is a chronic issue that has been ongoing since Sept ’15. I was bringing the bottles inside to be returned and made them aware of the issue months ago to no avail. I have stopped bringing the bottles inside because the customer service staff treats me like a bum lowlife for returning them! Hey customer service, I bought them there and spend about $ 800 a month in store — save the attitude for someone else! Worse, I’m not really getting the Poland Springs sale of 3 cases for $ 12 because I can never get the bottle deposit back.

Overall a decent supermarket but one nuisance issue. The bottle return room is supposed to open at 8 am but it’s never open at 8 am. Invariably you have to go to the customer service desk and ask them to have someone open the room. Customer service is never apologetic about it, no, they seem annoyed at the request. Then about five minutes later the employee opens the room. This is not an occasional situation. It’s almost every day.
I asked the customer service employee if they could ensure the room is open every day on time. She said the guy who opens the room is often doing other things at 8 am. What? You inconvenience customers rather than properly plan work duties?
Here’s some advice to store management. Tell the worker to open the room fifteen minutes early so when he’s late the room will still be open at 8 am. Enough already. The room has been opening late for ten years.

So last night it was milk and a show at Stop&Shop. Seems a sparrow had the whole store, shoppers and employees enthusiastic about his birdy adventures.
This little sparrow was working the crowd and exciting everyone. The store had called in pest control to put up netting in the produce area to catch the flying feathered friend, but he was having none of it. That bird was zooming thru the store like he owned it.
At first the sparrow wasn just zooming the fruits and veggies, then it was heading towards the bread aisle and the organics. Maybe the bird needed some gluten free snacks?
One customer commented, if it poops on you its good luck. Uh, ok… no for that.
So $ 50 later and a bird show, we left the store. Bird still entertaining the customers. Thanks Mr. Sparrow… you were cool.

This review is for the bakery. They have the best bakery ever!!! Its so good. I ordered a bunch of cupcakes in the shape of a corona bottle for my friend for her 21^st birthday and it was a success. They are creative and affordable! I highly recommend it!

This place is great! Luckily I live 12 minutes away but I’d make the drive even if it were farther. Their prices are very good especially when they are offering a sale. Often times they have even more discounts on their circular and coupons directly mailed to your home when you sign up for the Stop & Shop rewards card. Produce is huge and the staff in this dept is very kind. I get the occasional sushi at their fish section which is not bad at all considering you are getting it at your supermarket. It’s a huge place so when I read people review it and say it gets too crowded. …well of course, that’s expected. They have great deals so yes, it will get busy. It gets crazy on Friday evenings and weekends so I go when my son is at school M-​F before 2pm. I always use self checkout. Super convenient! It’s a great market, really.

I make a habit of almost always shopping at Stop & Shop, specifically this one. I find the staff to be very helpful, particularly in the deli and produce departments.
The store carries a wide variety of foods including international and organic. They have an entire section dedicated to healthy and organic living.
I have never had any problems in finding a product and things are rarely out of stock, even when they are on sale.
I thoroughly enjoy the Scan It technology and the self-​checkout sections. I find the Scan It to be a tremendous time saver and it is great for someone on a budget like myself.
Highly recommend this food store!

Stop & Shop is big and carries a lot of stuff. That general statement right there comes loaded with the fact that it’s usually pretty busy and fairly cramped, especially the vegetables and fruit area which becomes a secondary bumper car attraction and you may want to plant a helmet on your kids head to soften unexpected shopping cart collisions.
Even with all that it is still a pretty good place to shop, whether it be for the Starbucks coffee you can grab in the corner or sit a grumpy spouse at, or pick out fresh goods from the bakery, deli or other order food specialty areas. S&S also carries a small variety of ‘exotic’ ingredients which are great if you ever want to incorporate different things into your diet or trying to recreate a missed traditional dish from your background.

I love Stop & Shop and this is definitely not one of the best. I’ve been to this chain of stores all over Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island.
I do not like the layout of this particular store. I don’t feel that it flows well, but may be thats just me. It’s almost always super crowded unless you go late night. The lines are usually crazy long too and they go slow.
A lot of the time when things are on sale they do not scan at the correct price when I go to the register which is a huge hassle because I end up having to wait for an attendant if I am using self checkout. At most Stop & Shops if they make a mistake and leave the signage up when an item is no longer on sale they will usually still honor the sale price. Not at this one! The prices in general are a bit higher than the one in Hicksville for example. Hicksville still remains my favorite Stop & Shop location.

The best grocery in town. Lots of merchandise stocks, international groceries are available, full staff especially on this first day of the week (Sunday), located in a shopping center which is next to basic store eg pizza place, retail store etc., has big parking lot and there are in-​, house Starbucks store and Redbox vending machine.
Prices are comparably low, a bagger is next to the cashier I was standing to speed up the line, there are express lane, self service lane and the scan your own thing /​ring yourself service. Florist, bakery, deli, coffee shop, catering, home delivery are few of their services. The only downside, they don’t have in– house pharmacy.
Will stop and shop here if I could. Just to let you know, they even mail their weekly coupon if you get into their membership circle.

Really good place to shop! It’s huge and lots of parking space available! I love stop and shop because of how big the store is and it’s never crowded never have long lines it’s quick in and out!
Plus they always have fresh produce, and really good sales on weekly basis

I like this place because its always neat and fully stocked. You also get the clean feeling as you walk in. Unlike other places. I am also a fan of their sales. Particularly those were you get a discount for multiple items of each. You still get the discounted price if you just buy one vs the multiple advertised. Other supermarkets will charge you regular price because you didn’t comply with the multiple number requirement on the sale. Their pet isle is also very large and full options. The bakery always has fresh bread and delicious pastries to try. The meat section Is great especially for chicken. They always have small packages of thinly sliced cutlets unlike other markets where they force you to buy the large family pack of cutlets that you have to filet on your own. Who wants all that chicken? Who has time to filet when you just want the option to whip up something quick. They offer the scan gun as you walk in so you can ring yourself up as you shop. No waiting for the cashier to do it and it helps with price check as you go. Not a requirement but a nice option. Many self check out registers are available. So are the less than 15 item lanes. Organic sections are abundant for those that like eating pesticide free (I don’t believe they don’t use pesticides). There’s always a Starbucks inside in case you need a picker upper!

Place is very busy on a friday night… Came in here in purchasing 3 items i only boight 2… The cauliflower looked really small So i opted out of buying them… I did buy bbq. Sauce which was a huge bottle for $ 3.99 … Which was worth it. And also bought some small potato slider bread
Check out on self checkout was rather busy too

Today I went to this stop and shop to get 3 venti drinks. Because I changed one of my order from a grande to venti. They started smirking and talk some bs about me. Then after when I was waiting for my drinks. I asked for an extra cup so I can put milk on the side to go. The lady gave me some attitude. I was going to tip them like I always do after I get my drinks. But not with that type of service.

Good variety of items… but there never seems to be enough open check outs. The self check out lanes usually only have half of the lanes open.
Scan it customers are supposed to be able to use the self check out lanes, express lanes etc for quicker check out. However, half of the self checkout lanes have signs saying «not for scan it customers «…
On one end is a scan it only checkout kiosk… that has never been open. There’s usually displays blocking it. People use the scan it devices to speed up their shopping trip, but at this location is just adds frustration.
Second week in a row that the milk has either really short or past sales dates on them.

Seems to be always crowded, awfully lousy bakery section. More odd and weird products here then any other S&S I’ve been to. Way to many employees screaming at each other across the place. Guys moving pallets of items around with no consideration of people! Just bumping people all over! Store is messy! Ham & Cheese loaf? How F%$King lazy do you have to be to buy that! It’s probably the same person who buys GOOBER peanut butter and jelly in one jar.
