AMC Showplace New Lenox 14

Decent place to go but the new and up and coming custom theaters will have my business. Uncomfortable seating and lower quality sound and screens need to be updated to compete. I only go here cause its close by. Time to modernize your theater or get left behind. Sad because overall I like AMC.

Went and seen Star Wars in 3D Imax, the movie itself was good… however the theater that we were in had no heat… made for a rough viewing experience… only those that complained at the service desk got a free movie pass.

Oh my God. With a huge opening like Star Wars, you would think that management would open the doors earlier than 8:45. Other than that, not too bad of a theater. I would move the pre-​paid kiosk. Right inside the door where everyone else is standing in line waiting to purchase tickets was confusing for some.

Every time I go to this theater I can hear movies that are in the next theater. They really need to do something to sound proof each theater. It’s very distracting. The theater is otherwise clean and nice. Overpriced, but aren’t all movie theaters?

You’re never quite sure what the ticket price will be, and concession prices are as ridiculous as other large chain theaters. That said, New Lenox AMC is a fine place to see a movie. Wonderfully un-​crowded; worth the trip from O.P.

Nice Theatre, always clean. Easy to get in and out. Good consessions. Really like the stubs rewards program. Just saved another $ 10 today.

I wouldn’t normally review a cinema, but that is because they are usually consistent across the board. However, my wife and I went to New Lenox AMC on Friday night (big losers!!) and sat for the 9:45 Interstellar. The movie was good, however, the IMAX theater was immediately next door… showing Interstellar as well. In our theater, it sounded like a train was going by next door over and over and over. Really annoying.
I post this as a warning to avoid the theater next to the IMAX unless you like to watch one movie and listen to two!

Average movie theater. A little bit expensive, it’s usually not too crowded. They have some pretty sweet Coke machines, but not enough of them. I already waited in line for my snacks, I don’t want to wait in line again to fill up my own cup of pop. I gave it 4 stars for having an IMAX theater, otherwise it would have got 3.

No one wants to wait almost 30 mins with previews before the movie! People pay sitters & such for movie start times! Wtf? Change this AMC!

I love this theater. It is never too busy. Even on opening weekends it remains pretty quiet. They also have an IMAX theater! I don’t think many people even know about the IMAX there. We signed up for the stubs card program and I think it is worth dishing out the extra money for it if you are a movie buff like my husband and I.

This place is crap. No salt in the shakers. 3-​D glasses are dirty and scratched. Bathrooms are filthy. The only redeeming quality is that it has an IMAX screen.

Clean and friendly staff. My family and I drive nearly 45 minutes to go to this theatre in lieu of ones much closer to home. One reason is the clean and safe feeling environment provided, the other is the IMAX 3D theater.
The IMAX 3D is in itself worth the drive. You feel like you are a part of the movie experience. We’ve seen Iron Man 3 and the Hobbit Part 2 the so far. If you get motion sick easily or have attendance towards sensory overload, I wouldn’t suggest it. Otherwise, it’s totally worth the up charge.

Word to the wise… Don’t see The Wolf Of Wall Street with your family unless explicit sex scenes and intense drug usage when sitting next to your mom isn’t uncomfortable.
Despite our awkward Christmas movie choice I thought the AMC Showplace was a pretty good theater option if you find yourself down this way. It’s way less congested than the Orland Park area, they’ve got all the newest movie releases, and their soda machine is from the future!
Sure…popcorn and snacks are through the roof expensive and the floors can be a little sticky but overall it’s a pretty good place to catch a flick in the south suburbs.

I came here to say many an awesome movie. YES, there are always youngsters hanging about but I thinks that’s all theaters! Only once did I EVER have to turn around & get ghetto on some annoying punk ass cracking loud jokes during a movie, using his cell phone & kicking seats (YES, I turned around & told him I didn’t pay to hear his commentaries or be annoyed that he didn’t take his CHILL THE FUCK OUT meds; I got free tickets out of it ! This city gal wasn’t takin’ no bullshit). The kid moved & eventually left when he annoyed someone else. Each & every time since, it was clean, quiet (unless it’s a Cult movie) & well worth the trek for me!

A very clean and well run theater. Customer service is always good. It’s not as busy as Orland Park and it’s closer to home. It’s not as nice as Orland Park and I believe the IMAX screen is larger in Orland also.
Here are my gripes…
Why do they show so many previews before the movie now? It’s about 15 minutes of previews and the prices of movie tickets have gone up considerably. It’s cheaper to go to the Matinée for $ 5.00.
Also, why did they put the theater near Giant Power lines, an Illinois Brick Company and some other industrial building. It’s a very odd place to put a movie Theater. Plus you have to drive behind a Jewel and around the Illinois Brick just to get there.

The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because the seats are extremely uncomfortable! They sit too upright and too tight!!! We came here on a Monday afternoon to see This is 40. Which my husband liked even though it was obviously a chick flick! We were rushing to get here which we’ve never been before and drove around a bit because the directions on our phones kept telling us it was right to our right– well yeah it was but you had to drive down a frontage road of sorts?! If you’re not from this area you would never know this! We decided they probably got this land for next to nothing and built here? They should have directions to drive into this, it was complicated! We would have been totally late for our movie if it wasn’t early on a Monday! But the first show was $ 5 each, my X-​mas certificates were well spent!

This theater is a great alternative to Marcus Cinema in Orland. Now that we have an AMC so close to home I don’t think I’ll ever go to Marcus again. It’s nice to not have to fight for a parking spot and wade through the large groups of teenagers as well.
The theater is clean and the staff is friendly. Being a member of the stubs program costs money up front ($ 12 per year) but pays for itself in just a few visits.

We prefer to come here to see movies. Its major perk is that it isn’t in Orland. There is less traffic on the way and less crying babies inside.
The facilities are always clean, they have coke products, and a rewards program that gets you discounts on the concessions. The staff is pretty friendly and if you tell them about a disruptive patron they are right on it. I also like that they fill my pop for me. Concessions are expensive and I don’t want to have to jockey around teenagers making suicides at the self serve station a la Marcus in Orland.
Also if you are cheap, like I can be sometimes, it is good to know that it is $ 5 a person for any show before noon! So, go here for a fun Hollywood afternoon.

This is my favorite movie theater. It is easy to drive to, not in a real congested area. I also like the parking, it is always easy to find a spot. Plus, it is not so crowded as other theaters. Most of the kids I see at this theater are accompanied by their parents, not in huge annoying packs.
The popcorn is good, they have the Stub hub program which racks up rewards quickly and they have coke products. What is not to like? Oh maybe some of the movies that Hollywood has been putting out lately.
If you are going to the show, I would recommend going here.

It is a bit tricky to find the first time. You can see it from 80 but your GPS will get all cranky trying to find it. It’s behind Jewel, just keep on the winding road.
Once you are there it is easy to find parking and to get tickets. I like this theater because it is not as super crowded as the theater in Orland. It is clean with nice bathrooms and COKE products.
This is my favorite suburban option for movie watching, it is worth the little extra drive to have a less crowded and cleaner venue.
If you are worried about price, go Monday — Thursday and don’t buy snacks, done, cheap night!
Lights, camera, watch the action. And please turn off your cell phone!
