Rev. Anne was fantastic. We married November in Bolingbrook and from our first meeting we knew she was perfect for our ceremony. She kept up great communication from the first meeting till our wedding and did a beautiful job. She even wrote a customized ceremony for us. Being a Thai and Polish wedding not in a church she was able to make it very special. Thanks again Rev Anne!

My wife and I were married on Nov. 8^th at the 19^th Century Club in Oak Park Illinois. In the year leading up to the wedding we spend the majority of our agonizing on the details of the all-​important reception, like most of our engaged/​married peers did.
But here’s the thing… our ceremony was the best part of the night! And so much of that is because of Rev. Anne. She brought experience, responsiveness, flexibility, and charisma to every aspect of planning and officiating our wedding. With a keen blend of gravitas and friendly midwestern warmth, Anne just makes you feel like you’ve known her for years. My wife and I felt like we had an old friend up there with us.
Her deft touch was made all the more spectacular by the fact that we planned this Illinois wedding from Washington, D.C. Anne was vigilant in meeting us over skype, ensuring that we could together craft a personal and meaningful secular ceremony. It was a truly tailor-​made ceremony using mostly Anne’s well-​considered and thoughtful language.
During our rehearsal, Anne kept things moving efficiently. She handled our questions with humor and grace and we felt very confident going into the ceremony. At the wedding itself, Anne brought the words on the page to life and amazingly kept a nervous and otherwise easily distracted groom totally absorbed in the moment.
After all the drinks, dancing, and funny photobooth pics — it’s still the vows and promises my wife and I made that resonate in our minds. And isn’t that how it should be? Anne was instrumental in making those moments ones we will never forget.

My husband and I got married on August 8^th at Promontory Point in Chicago. Choosing Rev. Anne to marry us is definitely one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process! From the initial meeting we had with her (which lasted about 2 hours!) to every single email and revision I made, she was supportive and open. When we were looking for someone to marry us, my husband and I knew we didn’t want an overly religious wedding ceremony. We wanted the perfect blend of spirituality and real life. We definitely got this with Rev. Anne. If you are searching for a wedding officiant and just not sure what direction to go, reach out and take the chance! You will be grateful you did! She made our wedding so special and genuinely cared about us and our ceremony. She did a great job helping us stay organized and made sure our ceremony flowed seamlessly. I can not thank her enough for being a part of our special day and am so happy we chose her to officiate our wedding.

I can’t say enough good things about Reverend Anne! She married my husband and I on January 24, 2015. She was so sweet and professional throughout the entire process. When we first met her, she was very warm but also very professional! Her suggested samples of the ceremony script are lovely and my husband and I were able to combine two of them. We are agnostic and we really appreciated how she has a selection of nondenominational ceremony scripts. It was always a breeze to contact her and we always heard back from her the same day. On the day of the ceremony, she was on-​time and set herself up, which was really helpful since my husband and I were so preoccupied. Everyone told me that they loved the way that she performed the ceremony and that she came across as very sweet. After the ceremony, she made sure to check to see if my husband and I needed anything before she left. Lastly, she sent our marriage certificate to county clerk the day after the ceremony with a tracking number just to make sure. I also want to add that, for the level of her service, her prices were extremely fair and I am so happy that my husband and I chose her to marry us.

Rev Anne is amazing! She officiated our wedding ceremony a few weeks ago, and we couldn’t have been happier. As others have mentioned, she provided a few ceremony templates and met with us over coffee. Over the next several weeks, we worked together to piece together a ceremony using different elements of the various templates, and she weaved in personal details based on our discussion with her.
We received so many positive comments on Rev Anne after our ceremony. She spoke clearly and with emotion during the ceremony, and her love for her work was evident. She made a very special day absolutely perfect, and we can’t recommend her highly enough!

Rev anne and Rev Val were amazing! i initially contacted rev anne and she was such a blessing! she really helped us and guide us during the entire wedding planning process. she was very quick and efficient and very accommodating with our requests. she did us a big favor with the package as well and for that we’re forever grateful! rev val was our officiant for that day, and she was so nice and professional and genuine. we didn’t have a rehearsal anymore, but she really helped us so the wedding ceremony go smooth. she was very accommodating with our small requests especially with the ceremony program and the guide they gave us helped us a lot with creating the program! our wedding was so beautiful thanks to rev for whatev!!!

Rev. Anne was amazing and so easy to work with for our wedding. She put together a customized set of wedding vows for our ceremony. She was able to incorporate all we wanted in the ceremony and perfectly captured our relationship after just a short meeting. She was always accessible via email and all steps of the way were explained. Prices were well explained and very reasonable.

Anne was awesome in helping my sister and her partner put something together in a very short time frame. And was great at guiding the rest of us in what to do too. I’m so glad I found her and have already had several of our friends that were at their commitment ceremony ask me to give them her info. Anne was the officiant at my wedding on 9.22.2013 and we couldn’t have been happier. She is everything I could ask:

2) listens to what you want.
3) very nice and EASY to work with.

Unfortunately Rev Anne was not available on the day of our wedding, but her associate, Rev Valerie Weigal, was so we worked with Anne to plan the ceremony for Val to perform.
From day one Anne was very quick to answer any questions and offer up advice while we wrote the ceremony. She gave a lot of examples of what other couples had done as well as helped us refine our own words — I couldn’t have been more pleased.
When it came to the rehearsal and day of the ceremony, it was obvious why Anne and Val have worked together for so long — I only met Val for the first time the day of the rehearsal, but she was just as pleasant and helpful as Anne had been over the many months of planning. She delivered the ceremony flawlessly and was a joy to work with.
I would certainly recommend either one of these ladies to perform ceremonies for my friends and family. You can tell they both really care about what they’re doing and take a lot of pride in the joy they bring couples.

Rev for Whatev was the best. We worked with Rev Anne to write the ceremony — cutting and pasting different parts of her existing ceremony templates (which are great and SO HELPFUL — I’m sort of picky about this kind of thing and I wanted to be able to do it myself, ha, but Rev Anne’s stuff is a great starting point) to make something perfect for us.
Rev Pam performed our ceremony, and she just did an awesome job. Everyone was so impressed with her, including us — I’d been worried that it would feel impersonal having a rev from the internet perform our wedding ceremony, but seriously, she was amazing, and everything felt very genuine and personal. She was so great, and both she and Rev Anne made the process really easy (even though we are disorganized and sometimes took weeks/​months to return questionnaires or give answers to basic questions).

Simply put, Rev Anne is the best. She officiated our wedding on April 27^th and we couldn’t be happier. She was great to work with throughout the planning process. She gave us ceremony samples and we chose the parts we liked and she blended it together beautifully. On the day of, she was very helpful reminding me to give away my bouquet and reminding my husband to extend his arm to me at the end of the ceremony. She looks out for all of those little things you are unaware of on the big day.
We’ve had many people ask us if Rev Anne is a friend of ours because our ceremony was so personal and that is a huge compliment to her style. Her delivery on the day was perfect and I’m so glad we found her. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her and I would recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant.

Oh my gosh!!! I cannot state enough how grateful I am that Rev. Anne and her team pulled through for me to make my wedding fantastic! So my boyfriend asked me to marry him on Dec 14^th and he wanted to do it on… New Years Eve! I thought this was a totally cool idea, but worried I wouldn’t be able to get the details together in time. I called Rev. Anne right away the following Monday. By Tuesday, we had spoken and worked it all out. She would not be able to do it, but assigned Rev. Val to conduct my wedding. I really loved that Anne was in contact with me several times, following up and making sure everything was confirmed for the big day. On NYE, I met Val at the Willis Tower. She was super sweet and awesome! I loved that she was totally professional and had a «take charge» attitude. There were several moments when my 30 guests were getting a little rambunctious so she did a great job counting out everyone, ensuring I purchased enough tickets and helping get everyone up to the Skydeck. She was great!
I totally appreciate her patience. It was a little more crazy than I anticipated with all the guests and pictures. She was my source of calm and didn’t skip a beat. This is a great service and I highly recommend Anne /​Val or her team for anyone needing someone to conduct their service.

This review is for both Rev. Anne and Rev. Pam, as Rev. Anne wrote our ceremony, but Rev. Pam performed it on the big day. When we first met with Rev. Anne (and Rev. Pam via Skype), we knew right away that was who we were going to go with for the ceremony. She just got us and our vibe right away, and pretty much nailed it on the first draft. Unfortunately, Rev. Anne was already booked for our date, but Rev. Pam was an excellent substitute. She was punctual, and made everyone involved feel really at ease. Her delivery was perfect, and it made the whole ceremony really special. My husband got all teary, and he is NOT a crier. Highly recommended!

I wish I could give Rev Anne 10 STARS! Rev Anne was the officiant for our wedding at the end of July, and the ceremony was perfect. I had so many guests come up to me at the reception to tell me Rev Anne was the best officiant they had ever seen at a wedding!

Rev. Anne Styx was absolutely over-​the-​moon-​amazing to work with during our May 2011 wedding — and the experience was fantastic from pre-​wedding all the way to the wedding day ceremony itself. My now-​husband and I come from different backgrounds and were getting married in a non-​traditional venue in Chicago. We wanted a ceremony that we could really take part in constructing and would have elements of both traditional and modern ceremonies to speak to both sides of our families. We wanted someone who would be open to letting us incorporate personal elements while giving the structure that was needed. Moreover, we wanted someone that we could truly be comfortable with — Rev. Styx ended up being so much of that perfect person for us, that she was the first and only officiant that we spoke with during the wedding process. Basically, we knew we had found «the one» and were determined not to let her get away. :) During the pre-​wedding process, we met and spoke about who we were as individuals and as a couple, thought about what elements we would like to incorporate or exclude, and really got to air out any questions or requests we had with Rev. Styx. She was easy to communicate with, and any questions we had via e-​mail later on were met with a prompt response. As great as she was during our planning process, the ceremony was even better! Her delivery was amazing, and she captivated our guests and made the ceremony about the two of us and our union. We received SO many compliments on the ceremony, Rev. Styx herself, the content of the wording and our personal touches. Rev. Styx was absolutely instrumental in how perfect the ceremony turned out to be, and I could not picture having anyone else officiate during our special day.
