A really great option that we stop at whenever we are heading up to ski. Definitely a surprisingly good find, and a step up from the other options in the area. It’s not precisely rustic, but it’s also not precisely not, either. Check out the duck(consistently good) or the seared tuna steaks(amazing sauce).

Not a good meal or experience have talked to friends who say it must have been an off night. We will give it another shot down the road

Lake Sunapee has some extremely underrated restaurants! This place was great. Awesome food, awesome drinks, HUGE wine selection, and the service was stellar. We had Jenny and she was impressive. Don’t hesitate to give this place a shot!

We waited over 15 minutes before a waitress came to our table to ask if we wanted drinks; despite having a reservation. After receiving our drinks, we waited approximately 30 minutes more before a new waitress turned up to take our food order. It was absolutely incredible how screwed up the service is in this place. The food was not bad but the service ruined the entire evening.

Fabulous service and food. Can’t wait to return. All servings were generous and creatively prepared. Had the meatball appetizer, which was enough for a light meal. The lobster roll was overflowing with huge chucks of fresh lobster. Likewsie, the boulibaise was delicious and impossible to finish due to the serving size. Even the potatoes were delicious. And they had fresh draft beer from the Loose Goose brewery from down the street… crisp and memorable.

Found this place while visiting Colby Sawyer and true to form, I never go wrong with Unilocal recommendations. We arrived at 11:45 am and there was only one other table occupied. When we left an hour later the parking lot was quite full. Even though there was only 1 server and 1 manager, Our server was attentive and our food delivered in a very reasonable time. My daughter had a burger which she found a bit greasy. I had the warm roast beef sandwich on gluten free bread and it was delicious. My husband had the fish & chips. The fish was haddock. It was a huge portion and he inhaled it. Presentation was lovely and glassware and plates were unique. Setting is wonderful with the mountains beyond. For dessert, lava cake was decadent. We shared the apple crisp with strawberry sorbet. It was warm, moist, crisp and delicious. Should our daughter decide to come to school here, this will be a frequent stop!

Went here for Valentine’s Day and what a treat. Amazing service, yummy food and very nice atmosphere. Started with lobster crostini, the ceasar salad with fresh white anchovies, I had halibut with a cauliflower and crab bisque and he had the crab cake. All really yummy and beautiful. Finished with the raspberry semifreddo and coffee. If your I’m this part of NH, stop here!

tonight we decided to try something new. I couldn’t be more pleased that we did. We were immediately met with a genuine greeting. After we were sat we were read the specials and drink specials and the host could see I was in debate between two of their beers and without word she went and got me a sample of both. Before I could say thank you I found myself in a lively conversation with someone who was a manager or owner, but regardless a wonderful greeting. The food that followed was incredible. I don’t say this lightly, but the stuffed mushroom caps were the best I have ever had. How they were cooked, size presentation and taste were exquisite. Everyone I ate with raved about their food as well. The steak tips were done to perfection. This place had a nice comfortable décor that compliments the pride they take in their food and service. Everything was so good I almost wished I wasn’t wearing a Patriots jersey, but as it stands I would suggest this place to Tom Brady to take his fam if he was ever in the area. Like Tom this restaurant was effortlessly classy and successful while maintaining a humble approach that leaves you feeling great. I will return for sure.

Wow! Found this place driving home from Montréal to Boston in the freezing rain — a gourmet oasis in the veritable food desert of New Hampshire late on a Sunday night. The décor is slightly outdated, but don’t be fooled– this place is a gem! Stellar wine list, beautifully executed comfort food(clearly everything was made from scratch), and warm friendly service. If you find yourself even remotely in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and stop by.

Food is great… as is the presentation. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Nice to have a great dining experience in the New London area. The menu really has something for everyone… and the kids. Recommend you check it out. Enjoy!

The french onion soup is a rare delicacy. I wanted to order another bowl of it. My surf and turf dish was very tasty and brought out in a timely manner. There were 7 of us and each dish came out at the same time. The owner came out to greet us personally and it was truly a rewarding experience. I recommend this place to everyone. ;-) A+++

Stranded in snowstorm Cato, and had to spend the night at the first exit we could find. Luckily, this lovely gem was maybe 15 yards up the road. What a nice find! Great menu full of fresh ingredients, not too expensive, friendly staff, and just what we needed. Husband had the Reuben sandwich, and I had the haven blue and beet salad with a loaded potato with herbs and gruyère. Be advised, it’s not a standard baked potato– it’s a piping hot bowl of steaming hot baked potato mixed with buttery delicious gruyère, fresh bacon, another layer of gruyère, and fresh herbs on top. Blew my mind. Definitely the best place to be stranded by. Hands down.

An odd New England restaurant in that their oysters weren’t local, but they were delicious! As was the peppered tuna appetizer. Alas, their lobster roll wasn’t — it’s lobster salad in a roll, not a true lobster roll. Never seen clam chowder with bacon and onions in it – not bad, just not expected. It was crowded, but we were able to get a table via Open Table within half an hour and waited out the rain in the parking lot. The service is their biggest issue — new owners, new name and still trying to work the kinks out.

Now called Millstone at 74 Main Hubby and I had a very good lunch here today in the dining room. The ambience is casual and comfortable, the service good. 4 stars I ordered the special fried fish sandwich(fried haddock, lettuce, tomatoes, sauce on brioche bun) with fries. Hubby ordered the special quesadilla«sandwich» which consisted of toasted flour totillas containing cheese. roasted tomatoes, and a green. Both entrées were quite good. 4 stars For dessert Hubby ordered ice cream — good quality, but nothing really special. 4 stars. Total for 2 drinks, 2 luncheon entrées, 1 dessert was $ 35 plus tip. We’ll likely go back.

First, the restaurant is now called 74 Main. Second, our experience there was disappointing on several important levels, and if Unilocal allowed it, we’d give the restaurant a rating of 1.5 stars. Instead, we’re being a tad generous with two. Our issues had to do with food and service. First, we ordered a Mojito for a pre-dinner beverage. Twelve minutes later(no kidding!), our waitress appeared to announce the bartender had never heard of the drink but was reading a book and consulting with servers and would have it ready soon. When the drink finally arrived, it wasn’t bad, a concoction of Barcardi and soda, but it really wasn’t a Mojito. Oh well … The service was erratic. Our waitress disappeared for long periods, and we were served by someone who appeared to be a manager. There were delays. The food was of mixed quality. The beef carpaccio appetizer was delicious, the chicken wings tasty. But the snapper was seriously overcooked and tasteless, and the«crispy potato cakes» were soggy and difficult to cut even with a knife. The dessert, a chocolate mousse pie, was good, but the chocolate sauce would have been much better served warm than refrigerated. We liked the attractive interior with booths and small table lights, but we found way too many problems with service and food to recommend 74 Main.

Second time, did not disappoint, We first dined at Millstone 2 years ago, had to run to let my son make it back for his early call at the New London Theater Barn. Last summer our schedule did not allow us to come here :( This summer we had a wonderful time again. Early dinner pre theater. Reservation was for 5:30 p, m. on the 4th of July. Food, service, atmosphere were all good. Steak was juicy, perfectly medium. My scallops came with very flavorful, interesting sweet potato purée perfect(i.e. slightly undercooked) carrots and green beans. Desserts lovely as well, even though crème brûlée came cold. But my mango mousse cake was so tender, smooth and just right in flavor, not too sweet. Hope we can come again.

I ate dinner here tonight and it couldn’t have been better — quick seating, fast and professional service, and outstanding, well-presented food. I had the swordfish topped with oxtail, placed on a bed of pureed carrots and peas along with a French Onion Soup, and a crisp Maine salad with Maple vinaigrette. And a warm chocolate lava cake served with vanilla ice cream. It was a little on the pricy side, but the portions were generous, so we were able to split them between the two of us and still be completely satisfied.

Now called 74 Main at Millstone. The atmosphere is very warm, the restaurant is tastefully done and more modern than most in the area. The special of Prime Rib was excellent but the slice could have been thicker. The Salmon was a big cut and was very good with lots to share later and the stuffed sole with crab was also very good as well. The seafood casserole I had was recommend by the waitress was ok she warned me it was adventurous. It had kettle chips on the top of it and I am not a big fan of potatoes chips on my $ 22 entrée so I would pass on this next time. The slide potatoes were al dente but the cod and mussels was very tender and good. This is second visit here and last time I had the meat loaf which was outstanding. The service was very good and server and maître d on Saturday were friendly and nice.
