This place really has me torn. The dining room looks like the average pizza joint, complete with Naugahyde booths and bright lights. The lounge is darker, trendier, and I expected to hear the Bee-Gees as the background music. Yes, my first impression of the bar was a 70’s disco, minus the glitter ball. Behind the bar is a full length window, and beyond that, a pond. The owner of the property facing the lounge had a tepee set up, for some reason. Since I don’t rate on décor, let’s get to the basics. Bestie and I stopped in for a glass or two of wine, and possibly something to eat. Our bartender was very happy to explain the offerings he had available. We settled on a Chianti. It was a decent pour, too. Here’s an observation: the backstock of wine is set in a rack in the window. I didn’t fire up my compass app to see which way the window faced, but in general, you’d think that constant exposure to light would not help the quality of the wines. It may look good, but the reality is that it’s not the optimum way to store decent wine. So, after our third glass, we decided to check out the menu. I was not impressed. The bill of fare was confusing. It was almost like a «build your own adventure» menu. I get that ‘wood-fired pizza’ is the draw, but it really seemed out of place in the elegance of the lounge. It was like going to the greasy spoon down the street and finding caviar on the menu. We looked through the menu several times, but nothing really grabbed our attention. So, just based on our ever-attentive bartender, and the wine list, I’m giving this 3 stars — that may change if we ever go back and try to food.

I wanted to stop in when 122 first opened, But waited for them to work out the kinks a restaurant endures when opening a new establishment also the working out of having a new staff. I have waited some time. Stopped In last night(a Friday) around 7 with high expectations. The parking lot was crowded. I walked in and was greeted with 2 Nice smiles from hosts. Took a seat at the bar it seem to be steady for a Friday night. bartender immediately knowledge me with a warm welcome. I wanted something quick & simple I went for the 122 burger with steak fries Fried egg frazzled onions & cheese & lto, I added bacon for a small up charge. The Burger Came out the way I requested. Before eatting my meal went to restroom to wash my hands. The lavatory was neat & clean I liked the hand soaps that were offered. To me a restaurants cleanliness says a lot about a place so I really appreciate clean restrooms. Meal was good. The draft selections There I like them. I found a perfect one to go along with the burger. When I ask for the tab it was handed over promptly. After a steady night with a full bar the Service I received was wonderful did not have to wait around for utensils or condiments or the tab like other places in town. My water glass always stayed full. Even Though Someone was waiting to take my seat I never felt rushed out of there. I was also checked on quite frequently. Great job to the staff & owners of 122 .keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen ! You exceeded my high expectations !

Sorry to say this place is pretty terrible. Food was a mess, in our party of four 3 of us had major issues with our dishes. We got meals comped and pizza sent out as an apology. Staff didn’t seem to be well trained or knowledgable about the menu the drinks were definitely not poured correctly… oh well, they are the only restaurant in the middle of nowhere so I’m sure that will keep them busy regardless of service or food.

I signed up for Unilocal just because of how bad this place is. I had prime rib that I ordered med rare it came out well done on one side and medium on the other and had absolutely no taste. My girlfriend got a salad to play it safe and she ordered it with balsamic dressing because on the menu it came with some type of vanilla dressing, she got her salad and it came with the vanilla that tasted like straight vanilla extract. Oh and to top it off she bit into something crunchy, it was a stink bug!

Me & my boyfriend went there this past weekend for the second time because we loved it so much. We got in for lunch and had their classic burger which was delicious. The product they use is tasty and of good quality. Angela & her staff were great — no complains here! They went above and beyond to make us happy and comfortable like a family. We had to go back to this restaurant and will come back next time we are around in Connecticut. The views from the back bar are amazing — what a great time.

Went there 6−12−15 for lunch. Two in our party. We had 2 salads with chicken– one Caesar and one Beet with Arugula. We had wanted to sit in the glass-enclosed room overlooking the pond, but the room was too warm. We ate in the bar. Nice atmosphere. Great service. We were the only diners. Our«large» salads were average size. We had coffees because the water we were drinking had a strange taste. My only complaint is the pricing. Our two salads with chicken and 2 coffees came to $ 41.48, plus tip. Over $ 49 for salads? for lunch? with no alcohol? The salads would have been more if we had selected a different protein. The average price for a lunch elsewhere in the area is $ 10– $ 12 per diner. We decided that although the food was good and the service excellent, we will not be returning unless they come out with a better-priced lunch menu. For that reason– we gave a two-star rating.

Pros: Nicely renovated and a great mix between pub and restaurant. Great bar area and nice glass sun room overlooking the back yard which is nicely landscaped with a pond. Service was good and staff was friendly. Cons: Our initial welcome could have been better, we were not greeted but instead had to approach the hostess to inquire about at seat even though we were the only ones walking in the door. The food was delicious however the oysters were priced at 3.50 per, so imagine our surprise when the bill came and half of it was the 42 dollars we paid for 12 oysters. Overall a great spot and I’d happily eat there again. Next time I’ll ask what the market price is.

Be careful and check your bill. We were a table of 5 and were charged an automatic 20% gratuity. Crazy as the service is terrible. Blame management training, young adults need guidance in the restaurant business and it’s clearly not happening here. Food mediocre, time between meals too long.

A friend an I went on a Saturday afternoon to grab lunch. We each had a burger, and shared an appetizer. The food was very good, I was especially pleased with the price of a basic burger(because I personally hate places that want to charge 16 bucks for a basic cheese burger with no frills,) and the variety on the menu. I will definitely go back to try the pizza, as well as other menu items because so much of it looked delicious and there was a good variety to choose from. Definitely recommend and will go back!

Not very good, went for Valentine’s Day with my g/f, her sister and brother in law. Drinks were weak and tasted watered down, wait staff seemed incredibly inexperienced and did not have enough training/sense to go and ask the kitchen/bartender questions they themselves could not answer. After waiting hours for our main courses all four of us were served the wrong dishes with the wrong sides. When questioned about this it was relayed to us that the kitchen had ran out of certain things, which is fine however this fact was not passed on to us until after we received our food and not before as it should have been. On the bright side the manager comped our meals and brought us out some free pizza which was definitely appreciated though I left disappointed I was never able to eat the steak and shrimp that I had ordered. All that aside I will try to eat here again as all places have bad nights at times and I would like to taste something beside the pizza once they are operating more efficiently. Hopefully I can update this review with a more positive experience and higher rating after the next time. The effort was there but the execution was poor, definitely willing to give them a second chance to put it all together.

The final food we got was very good. Still some growing pains. The food was not prepared like we hoped, but they fixed it and made things right. We tried the pizza, trout and steak. The trout was big and very tasty. It had a pistachio nut crust that we really like. It was cooked very well, a little bit of crusty but soft inside just like we like it. We really liked the trout. The steak and pizza were very good.
