A Night of Mischief and Mayhem at Arnaud’s

This was absolutely my favorite Unilocal Elite event! Arnaud’s is so beautiful! I had never been upstairs, so it was a special treat to experience the upstairs level and balcony.
The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly.
I especially loved the preparation of the bananas foster.
The murder mystery aspect of the night was hilarious. I know it must’ve been challenging to put it all together with such a large group, but Morgan pulled it off without a hitch. I love seeing my fellow Unilocal Elites getting into their characters!

This was the crème de la crème of Unilocal events! As soon as I saw this posting I knew I wanted to go to Arnaud’s and playing a character in the mystery made it even more appealing! As y’all know, Arnaud’s is a New Orleans institution and walking through those well appointed walls my friends and I oooh’d and ahhh’d (sp?) to all the famous and distinguished pictures on the walls. And don’t get me started on how much I love museums. Walking through the the Arnaud’s carnival museum with my lovely friend Jen L. Was like having your own personally narrated professional tour! Btw, Lindsay and Jen L. crack me up and cheered me up more than they know!
The service at Arnaud’s was utterly superb. We had a private room upstairs which made us feel extra special. I learned from Olivia (I hope that was her name, she was amazing!) the history of Arnaud’s and how the structure we see now is actually a combination of homes which is why there are so many stairs up and down. And she taught me that Arnaud’s encompasses the block, wow! And the waiters and waitresses passing on the delicious appetizers were attentive even when I was stopping them to see what they had! Oh and the stations of food! Upon the suggestion of Shannon I tried the turtle soup with sherry which was tasty but is it wrong part of me felt guilty eating turtles bc I like turtles? Yeah, I’m weird, had the same experience at Commander’s Palace, stupid Catholic, Filipino guilt! Hehe
I didn’t even get to try the pork loin bc I was drawn to the station making shrimp, peas and other yummy ingredients! The chef and I tried not to laugh when one of the elite members asked if there was shrimp there when it clearly stated that on the food card? My apologies elite member, you seemed very sweet and I was being silly.
And the bartenders were quick with a drink which is always a good sign. I can’t wait to dine here for a romantic evening one night. Are you listening future boyfriend? Hehe I bet it’s an experience to right home about!
And another point about the rooms, we even had access to a balcony which overlooked the quarter, so blissful!
Such a great event to see old friends and meet new Elites! Morgan did a fantastic job with the mystery game and thank goodness for Nikki who helped me figure out I had information to read in my envelope! Hehe
Am so thankful to have awesome Unilocal friends you know who you are (Steve, Joel, Jen, Vicky, Morgan, John, Angie, Lindsay, Alvin, Re etc), who encompass me with such love when I go through stuff! Plus y’all give the best hugs!
And the after party at Erin Rose was off the chain! Morgan was so right and the frozen Irish coffees, my new favorite drink!

We had a FANtastic time at the most recent Elite party! The food was exceptional and the company, as always, divine! I was very excited that I was able to make this event, having never been to Arnaud’s ever in my whole life as a New Orleanian. It was great to explore the building; the museum of Mardi Gras artifacts was incredible!
It is exactly this sort of event that makes me honored to be an Elite Unilocaler. Thanks SO much to Morgan for creating this awesome event and allowing us to be spoiled by some of the finer things that our fine city has to offer.

Yet another Unilocal elite event is in the books and what an amazing time!
First of all, I had never been to Arnaud’s before, so when I saw that they were going to be hosting us, attendance was a no brainer. After checking in, I was immediately greeted by Steve, Michelle and Angie, and the party was off to a great start.
Upon walking in, I looked over at the food station and I saw it: Arnaud’s legendary turtle soup! First of all, I LOVE turtle soup! Second of all: I had always heard that Arnaud’s has some of the best turtle soup in town. I was so excited to be able to try it for myself and it didn’t disappoint. I limited myself to two bowls, but I could have easily had more. Also offered were pork medallions with a fancy pepper sauce and some potato and shrimp concoction which was also pretty fantastic. Ooh! And at the end there was bananas foster! Bananas and ice cream topped with sugar; yeah, it’s hard to go wrong with that.
Even though I didn’t participate in the «mystery» part of the evening, I did have a good time wandering throughout Arnaud’s and taking the entire place in. Me and Dustin sneaked into some back banquet room that I think we probably weren’t supposed to be in, but really, how often are you in such a nice place and have the opportunity to snoop around? I also had a chance to check out the Germaine Wells Mardi Gras Museum. That review is separate.
I loved the balcony and we were pretty lucky that it was such a nice breezy evening.
As always, it was fantastic seeing everyone and I loved having the opportunity to dress up and be fancy for an evening. I met a lot of new Unilocal elites and it’s really nice to see that our community is expanding so rapidly. It seems like just yesterday I pretty much knew all of the NOLA elites and now I meet more and more new Unilocal Elites at every party. I think that’s it’s great.

Alright, after reading 9 previous reviews I finally realized why I always try and be an FTR on Unilocal events… I mean Jay-​sus, how do I top the ones that have preceded me?
To start, at this event only 2 people beat me there, that was our CM, Morgan and the trumpet player in the band for the night! NERD ALERT! Yep that was me but honestly I felt so damn uncomfortable on the street as dressed up as I was I had to find a dimly lit room in which to hide! Fortunately our venue, Arnauds, had just the thing when it came to dimly lit rooms… excellent location for an event and MAJOR props to Morgan for securing it… I mean really this is Arnaud’s their rep doesn’t need a stroking by Unilocal… I mean this place is a freaking NOLA institution! But they let my country ass in the door (cause I was wearing a suit) so I was feeling the love…
The food was MAGNIFIQUE! The pork, the shrimp dish (it had English Peas, I hate those but damn I ate them that dish was so good) the canapès that were passed around from the potato puffs to the oyster brochette to even that cucumber thing was tasty…
The PEOPLE… I haven’t seen SHANNON S. since Spring Break last year, RENE D. I thought she’d just disappeared, JOHN L H, ANGIE T our orbits had touched but I’d had no face time since the River boat event, SHERCOLE K ignored me (but I expect nothing less from her) she’s knows how to get to me, RE H. that’s my chica and hanging with her is always a blast, JEN L that was the first quality time we’ve spent since she drove me to my room at the murder motel in Metry, STEVE I and MICKEY B you know I got nothing but love for y’all… now as to the mystery event I was completely lost since I wasnt playing but it was all good cause I got to reconnect with my Unilocalers… plus Laila B who I met for the first time at the Steamboat Social… and Danny D. always great to hang out with him and I must thank him for drinking a French 75 just to make feel comfortable!
Honestly, Joi B was my first CM and she brought it in my mind but Morgan you’ve grabbed the torch and thrown some extra gas on that thing and honestly Joi B I hope you’re rightfully proud that you made a helluva pick to build on that foundation you laid… I don’t care where you might be from, NOLA Elite is a badge of honor and the best Elite to be in the nation… so to all the Newbs keep that in mind when you’re out and about on the streets… and remember always be grateful and proud that NOLA wanted you for an Elite and always be proud that you are a NOLA Elite!

When I first noticed this event on the Elite page I couldn’t RSVP fast enough.
The first thing that came to mind was, «It’s a Unilocal Nola event» (it just doesn’t get better than that… honestly). The second was, «hey! Libby will be here that week!» and then… «Oh, and it’s at Arnaud’s, you say?» Hello. Sign me the eff up for that and please do it now.
This event is probably going to go down in history as one of the greatest events ever.
Swanky. That’s what I thought walking in to Arnaud’s. I felt swanky while being handed a French 75 upon entering. I felt fancy sipping that French 75 while being offered super delicious hors d’oeuvres all night long. I especially felt like royalty with the tour of the Mardi Gras museum and while being given the history of the restaurant. Who knew this beautiful New Orleans establishment was so large and seeped in history? The staff here is exquisite. Make no mistake about it, if you want a fine dining experience, Arnaud’s will not let you down.
Y’all get ready, because I’m about to gush some more. The people that make up Unilocal Nola really, really rock. I have never felt more welcomed by any group of people in my life. Seriously. Never made as many personal friendships as I have here. I could go on and on but then I’d cry like the girl I am and y’all would get all uncomfortable. Just know this. I love New Orleans, but I love New Orleans Unilocal hard. Really hard.

Oh you wacky and wonderful kids. Did we have fun last night or what?
There were photos, fantastic food and freebies of the Unilocalness. Handsome beasties, BFFs and Babes. An atmosphere that can morph into whatever you desire: serene, sleek or salacious. We spoke of mistaken identities, movie stars and oft-​maligned personalities. I saw long-​lost friends, friends just seen and made friends anew. (Can you make a friend «anew»? Dicusss.) Service was seamless and stellar, stairs were abundant.
NOTHING WAS BROKEN. So was it really a party?!
