Arbor Room at Popp Fountain

I attended the «A Dark and Stormy Night» event here, so I don’t know if I had a typical experience (I assume this place mainly hosts wedding receptions), but I think I got a good feel of the venue.
For starters, I did have a bit of trouble finding the place. It’s kind of hidden and GPS offered me zero help. When I finally found it, it was in a pretty obscure area of the park. Keep in mind, it was dark, so I was working at a disadvantage.
When I finally arrived, I was greeted by a large room of people having a good time. The venue itself it quite big and for this particular event, everything was spaced out nicely with art and auctions in the middle of the floor and drinks and food on the outer edges.
As far as food goes– it was kind of strange. There were people walking around the room with hors d’oeuvres and then there was a table of snacks. The food was pretty no frills: it was a couple of cheese balls and some chips and dip. Hey, I love a good cheese ball, so this girl wasn’t complaining; the only thing I found odd is that the chips were just dumped on the table and not in a bowl or something. Eh, not a huge deal. Outside is, of course, Popp Fountain and it looked lovely as it was lit up and nicely illuminated for the evening.
I had a great time here and I would love to return for another event.

I came tonight to the Arbor Room for the «A Dark and Stormy Night» event, a fundraiser for a story telling program for the youth in the area. The event was perfect. A photo booth, plenty of drinks to taste, and food to eat. The restrooms were well kept up, the garbage was promptly taken care of, and there was someone doing spot sweeping to keep debris off the floor. The staff was on the ball!
This is a beautiful room, perfectly decorated and set up. I really think that this would be a perfect venue for large groups such as weddings and receptions. Nestled in City Park, the fountain is lit at night, there seems to be enough parking for a decent sized event, and is picturesque enough for a photo shoot of any type. The fountain is a perfect spot for a wedding proposal, a picnic, or whatever. The dog park is right across the way. This is just beautiful, breathtaking, and I just can’t come up with enough adjectives to perfectly describe this location.

We went to a promotional event at this venue last night. I hadn’t even realized that they had built this facility just behind Popp’s Fountain across from City Bark dog park. It is an open and airy party room with a patio off to the left side. At this event the band was set up outside with plenty of room to gather around on the patio.
City Park catering offered some yummy New Orleans food for this event, Gumbo, Red Bean & Rice, Jambalaya and, our favorite, the smoked pork tenderloin, which you could turn into little sandwiches.
The design of the facility is modern, with clean lines and liner details, but the backdrop of Popp’s Fountain and City Park are the real stars of this venue. It seems like a wonderful place to host an event which then also includes the beautiful setting at the fountain and gardens that surround it.

My wedding reception was here soon after the construction was complete. We had our doubts; but they were quickly diminished after we entered the hall and saw how beautiful it was. The lay out was perfect to my brides specifications. The staff was polite and worked extremely diligently to make sure all of my guest had the time of their lives. I would highly recommend City Park’s Arbor Room to every bride & groom. I have zero critiques.

City Park in New Orleans is such a beautiful park with all its oak trees and lagoons. City Park also hosts plenty of weddings.
Who doesn’t love an outdoor wedding ceremony on a beautiful sunny day? Popp Fountain in City Park is the perfect place in the park for such a moment. The fountain is picturesque and makes for an awesome backdrop. The Arbor Room adjacent to the fountain is a big open room that can accomodate over 300 people for your wedding reception.
I worked a wedding reception here last night and the Arbor Room was decorated beautifully. The bride and groom loved everything about their wedding. While it wasn’t a New Orleans-​style wedding it was still loads of fun! (Of course in New Orleans we do almost everything different including our wedding receptions). Everyone loved the food and the band was great (popular local band The Bucktown All Stars).
The Arbor Room and Popp Fountain have it all to make your special event perfect… a wonderful setting, delicious food, plenty of outdoor space, and a great staff.
