Charity Hospital and Medcl Ctr of Lsna At NW Orlns

Granny said at Charity «they would cure you or kill you». Charity Hospital is a staple in New Orleans, even not despite being «closed». Pre-​Katrina this was the hospital of all hospitals. As a teaching facility, this was truly the place to see any & everything!!! People came from far & wide to see Charity Doctors, because «Kill em or cure em» if you were gonna be helped, Charity was the place for help. It is to be noted, when open, Charity was a Level 1 Trauma Center… Hello, yeah like I said «any & everything». See everything & everybody.
Additionally, Charity was kinda like a uniting place for some people in the city. If you wanted to see someone, most assuredly at some point you would see them at Charity. Located in central city New Orleans, Charity Hospital it was a landmark to beat all landmark. Whenever you meet a New Orleans person they WILL have a Charity story; albeit it personal to them or one shared via word-​of-​mouth.
Post-​Katrina there’s been a push to re-​open Charity. I would love to see this happen as Charity was a great teaching facility… Learning is how we build great doctors!!!
For now it stands unopened to the public, although I’ve seen & heard about activity even now, I’ve not seen anything official.
So prayerfully, in the very near future, we will see the doors swing open on this historic, world renown teaching facility.
