I have been coming here for about 2 years and have always received excellent attention and service. I find all their technicians to be well trained, super sweet but not in your face, and very thorough and clean. Cindy is always there and does not allow any slacking on her standards and steps.
If I’ve been running around in my heels a lot, I like to get their deluxe pedicure with the hot stone massage. It might hurt a little (if you’re weak) but it really is a quick and affordable way to knock out the knots in the back of your calves.
They serve red and white wine as well as water and cold drinks, so I really get my chill on over here. I love that I can absolutely trust them to give me some signature statement nails every time, even when I’m not sure exactly what I want (which is seldom). But tonight I just told them I wanted something bright that works for a pool party and they whipped up this fun masterpiece for me, trying several shades of peach on my skin to let me choose what I liked best. They really helped this gal out after a tiring, busy day!

I moved to New Orleans almost 4 years ago and I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to find a nail salon that would meet my «standards».
I moved here from Southern California, Newport Beach, so I guess you could say I was sort of a nail salon snob.
I decided to Unilocal «Nail Salons» and happen to find Cindy’s Nail Salon… and boy was I glad I found this amazing gem of a nail salon!
When I first walked in I was blown away on how clean and modern the salon looked. Dazzled with chandeliers and pretty colored lights shining down from them, I knew right away I was in the right place! I was greeted by the owner herself and shown the wall of colors to choose from. They have a unbelievable amount of different colors and brands… OPI and Essie of course, which are two of my favorite brands of nail polish. I also noticed right away that they had all the latest new polishes from each collection line. Also, a huge plus for me they match up their Gel colors. Meaning if you are like me and get a regular color on your toes and a gel color on your hands and you want the two colors to match, they make it so simple with already matching the colors for you! I usually take so long looking at all the different colors because I can never decided with Cindy’s huge selection.
The services themselves are simply AMAZING. I recommend the Deluxe Pedicure with any of the talented ladies… I use to be picky at my old salon on who did my nails but not at Cindy’s! She knows how to pick em’ because no matter who I get, I’m always very pleased.
I also recommend the gel manicures and the acrylic nails… I’m hooked on my acrylic nails with gel polish on top… looks awesome for a whole month!
Not to mention Cindy’s does wonders with her waxing services!
Lastly, Prices are very affordable and consistency is on point.
I’ve been coming to Cindy’s Nail Salon and only Cindy’s nail salon for the past three and half years and always leave so satisfied and relaxed!
Go to Cindy’s and you won’t regret it!
Oh and big shout out to her daughter «little» Cindy, she’s amazing and very helpful… as well as her other daughter and her husband. It’s great to see a whole family helping out with a business and its succeeding tremendously!

I am always happy leaving Cindy’s. My nails look great and the service is wonderful. Plus, they offer complimentary beverages and 10% for students. The staff is very friendly and skilled.

This nail salon is really awesome. I’ve been getting my nails done at this salon many times. I can choose a bunch of gel or regular color I like. And these gel colors last long on my nails too. I was surprised tonight because I saw the shop used the liner for pedicure. I highly appreciate it because it’s very clean and safe for customers. Besides, the workers are very friendly and nice to customers. Therefore, I really recommend you to come here and try their services.

I use to love this salon but within the last year the quality of service is worse and worse. I’m done with them. I do not recommend anyone to go here

Hands down, my favorite place to get nails done in the city! But, please do read this review in its entirety for reasons why.
–Open on Sundays! I haven’t come across very many nail salons that are and c’mon ladies, how many times have we gotten the itch to get our nails done on a Sunday only to realize our favorite salon is closed?!
–Large gel nail polish selection. I found the New Orleans inspired OPI collection there about a week after seeing it online so seems like they update their polish inventory frequently.
–Lots of seats and nail techs! I absolutely hateeee waiting at the nail salon. Something about watching other women getting pampered makes me really anxious but thankfully, I’ve never had to wait at Cindy’s!
–They’re fast. Now, I know this may be off putting for many people which is why I cautioned you all to read the review thoroughly. If you want a lavish, long, pampered hand massage, you’ll be disappointed. If you want the guarantee that one nail tech will work on your nails from start to finish, then you’ll also be disappointed. But if you’re okay with little Cindy (owner’s daughter) taking off your old polish, having a tech or two tag team you and being out of the salon in about an hour for a gel mani/​regular pedi, then this place is for you! I’ve never felt like their speed affected the quality of their services and my nails always last quite a while. but I do get gel on my hands so there’s that.
Prices are so reasonable! And they offer a 10% discount for students! They offer you drinks while you get your nails done which honestly, is all the pampering I need! I don’t get my eyebrows waxed but Cindy seems to be the queen of waxing. Cash tips are preferred but they’ve let me add them on to my credit card payment when I forget. There is an ATM within walking distance though – I think.
A tad unrelated but I like seeing Cindy’s fam working in the salon. They seem to be a nice family running a solid business.

This place did a fine job, not amazing. I should preface with the fact it was very busy when I came to get my gel manicure done (around 5:40 on a weekday).
I had three different people do my nails, younger family members filled in during the simpler aspects of the manicure — polish, top coat — while the more experienced members trimmed my cuticles.
The price for a gel manicure is a bit steep for New Orleans, $ 25. Also they ask you don’t tip in cash, but they «let me» since it was my first time getting a service done here.
My nails look fine from afar, as you can see in this picture, you can see imperfections up close. Maybe I’m a perfectionist.
In the end, in not saying you should avoid this place nor should it be your first choice.

Every time I have come here, I have enjoyed it. Side note: I’ve only ever got pedicures here. They take their time in order for you to relax, and I think they do a great job. The polish usually stays on for a few weeks. They have SO MANY colors to choose from. The place itself is beautiful with a relaxing atmosphere. The workers are very friendly and helpful, and they always offer you something to drink.
I once even went in for them to touch up a job I had done somewhere else, and they found the color and fixed it in 10 minutes — for no charge!

I went in on Wednesday to get a full set and a pedicure The next day my color on my toe came off out of no where and my nails were so bad. They girl barely even touched them they looked like a little girl did them. I would have been better off by buying the nails from Walgreens and sticking them on myself. I needed up paying. 60 $. I went back Sunday to fix them and I got gel since their regular polish comes off. I thought since. They completely messed up the first time and. I paid so much the fist time they wouldn’t charge me When I had to go back to get it fixed. No they charged me 35 !! Thank god she gave me the 5 dollars off huh. In 3 days I ended up paying 100 for nails. If A customer comes in to fix your mistakes in her first visit. Don’t charge them. Definitely not going back.

Listen, i know Cindy be busy. I know is always a lot going on. But she takes her time. That’s what matters to me. I’m a design and razzle dazzle kinda girl so that is very important to me. I love this place. The wine, the magazines, and the cleanliness keep me coming.

Not only the most unprofessional, but also the worst-​quality French manicure I have ever gotten. Most notably, the lady who did my nails (Ann), did her own nails, right in front of me, telling me she didn’t like the way I did my French manicure, right after she did mine. Quite unprofessional and bizarre. She also got mad at me and pretty much shouted at me because I couldn’t understand what she was saying and had to repeat my question a few times. At the end, she got up and left without saying anything, so I had to figure out when to leave myself.
Also, the manicure itself lasted for about 3 hours, and a day later, it’s all chipped and gone. They gave me a gift certificate because they «don’t know how to do refunds» but I don’t even want to go back for that, as it was a very very unpleasant experience altogether.

Today while my friend and I were getting a pedicure at Cindy Nails, I witnessed a girl come in complaining about her chipped nails. The workers were more than willing to fix the problem but she said she didn’t have time and demanded cash. A lady who I believe was the owner came out and said she can give her a gift certificate to come back anytime to get them fixed even though there isn’t supposed to be a warranty on regular polish. She also demanded her tip back. Wow. After receiving the gift card, she stayed back and yelled that she would go to her bank and cancel her funds. (She said she didn’t have time for them to fix her nails, but she apparently had time to stand there for over 20 minutes and demand cash) She said she would give a bad review, and I would advise everyone to ignore it! Im just here to clarify things, I’ve been coming to Cindys for over a year and never had any problems!

Updating my review from the last two experiences. I know I shouldn’t talk in half stars, but this is more of a 3.5, and I’ll explain why.
Per my original review this place is very cute, clean, and pretty efficient in terms of getting people into seats. They do have a myriad of nail polish colors, and more gel nail polishes than I could fathom existed.
My last pedicure here a few months ago, was similar to Jen L.‘s experience with one of the attendees that was really not into the experience and pretty rough in terms of service. I’m totally on the attendant’s side, I am not into touching another person’s toes in the least bit. But by the time the manicure half of this experience came around it just felt like I was more of a burden, and one of the gel nails came off the next day. This was one person though, and from my experience all the attendees have been really lovely and sweet.
This last experience, it was pretty empty that day. I picked out my polish and set up shop for a manicure. Going back to the more gel nail polishes than I could fathom existed? So I must’ve picked an old color or one that needs at least 3 coats. My nail tech was meticulous about cuticle cutting and putting on thin layers, but we were having issues getting the polish to dry and looking at it today, it just doesn’t look that great even with two coats. She asked if I wanted to do a third coat but we were already about an hour and some change into the appointment, and I had places to be.
The service was $ 25 and I tipped $ 5 so not bad for gel nails. If possible I would ask about your nail polish color before application, i.e. how many coats, etc.
Again the staff here besides that one time are incredibly sweet. They ask you if you need a drink before the service, and are chatty when you want to chat and not when you don’t. From my last couple of visits, this place has also been pretty kid-​friendly for well-​behaved children and work really well with kids.
I may return, but will be more aware of the polish I pick and time I have to sit!

This has become my new favorite nail salon in the city! The staff is amicable and warm. The facility is very cleanly with a variety of entertainment. I usually get a gel manicure and a deluxe pedi when I go. I’m always getting a new technician but everyone knows their stuff. I also get my eyebrows done by Cindy or Ann depending on who’s available, I’ve never left there with a single complaint. It can get rather busy on the weekends, so anticipate some wait time if you don’t make it during the early hours although I’ve yet to stay for longer than an hour or so any time I’ve gone. I recommend this place to anyone who asks. They also have a great selection of OPI Gel colors.

This place is amazing. I broke a nail Friday night after one or ten too many drinks and needed it fixed pronto. I went down the street to another salon first and they told me the wait would be an hour– as if! Luckily cindy’s was right down the street.
I was helped right away. All the girls were so nice and friendly. I was offered a drink which is obviously a big perk.
The best part? It only cost me $ 17 to have a fill and one nail completely replaced. Cindy knows girls are ballin on a budget and still delivers great service. If you don’t get your nails done at cindys you are literally cray.

The experience was great. very relaxing mani and pedi and the girl who did my eyebrows made them look on point. my nails looked great but unfortunately they didn’t last very long after. Will definitely be coming back. Student discount is 10% off

Stephanie was amazing! We came in from out of town and I needed a pedicure and gel manicure. Even though I was on time restraints, she was able to complete both and do a fantastic job! If I actually lived here, I would definitely be a regular!

This was my first time here. As soon as the doors opened at 9 on a Friday, there were 4 people already there for services. I can tell it’s a popular place.
There was really good customer service. I was offered something to drink immediately, and the young lady doing my pedicure recognized my Loyola sweatshirt and told me about the student discount. The pedicure was really nice and she took her time.
When I got my nails refilled, it wasn’t as pleasant. Kim hit almost every cuticle I had with her drill. At least three of my cuticles are cut open, and my pointer finger was bleeding. At one point when I pulled my hand back, she looked annoyed with me. I don’t understand how, when she was the one hitting my cuticle. Cindy’s has the largest selection of gel colors I’ve seen in the city, and there is the corresponding color in regular polish also. I usually do gel on my hands and regular polish on my feet. When they sprayed the alcohol on my nails to finish the gel off, I could have died from my cut cuticles. It wasn’t the best experience.
Cindy also cleaned up my brows, and while I was in the room she looked at my hands to make sure everything was finished properly, and fixed the ragged edges. I appreciated that. I asked her to clean them up, and they came out really nice.
I’ll go again, because it’s very close to my school, and overall I had a good experience. The prices are about the same as other nice salons (read: not the joint that has $ 12 refills). I won’t let Kim and her drill near me though.

Great service! I was at the end of a gel polish on acrylic nails and decided I didn’t like the color. «Little Cindy» (Cindy’s daughter) filed it off and helped me choose a better color… even though it was close to closing time. Not only was she super patient with me, she was still super meticulous and paid attention to every detail.
Note: I was tag teamed by big and little Cindy, and they both hooked me up!

I also like Serenity to get my nails did, but more frequently go to Cindy’s because, for some reason, the impulse always strikes me on Sundays to get a mani/​pedi & Cindy’s is open on Sundays. Yay!
I’ve had several deluxe pedis here, one gel mani & an eyebrow wax. Each service has been top notch with lasting results. The deluxe pedis include a foot & lower leg massage with hands & hot stones & is SO worth the uptick on price — very relaxing! Pedi polish application always looks great & stays put. I never need another pedi until the nails grow out.
I got a gel mani in black & Stephanie did a fantastic job! But for a chip on a nail that was partially torn off handling luggage (obviously not Stephanie’s fault) & the natural growth of my nails, the polish still looks great 2 weeks later. In fact, it looks so good that a stranger complemented my nails & asked if they were acrylics. They’re not.
Cindy also did a great, painless job on my eyebrow wax. She listened & delivered when I said I didn’t want any shaping, but just a clean up. I’ve had much more expensive brow waxes in spas where the techs ignored my requests & took it upon themselves to excessively shape my brows so that I walked out looking like Tammy Faye Bakker. No. Just, no.
Upon being situated at a mani or pedi station, you’re offered a free drink & they have sodas, water & wine. The salon’s atmosphere with soft, light blue walls & chandeliers is also beautiful & soothing, & everything is always clean. Each massage chair has also been functional & comfortable once I got the hang of working the settings on the remote — loves me the neck setting!
My only complaint, & why I give Cindy’s 4 stars instead of 5, is that it’s sometimes hot as hell in there. The last time I was in, it was easily 80 degrees. I don’t know if they own or lease the space or to what extent they control the salon’s air conditioning, so this is not necessarily their fault, but the A/​C is just not strong enough. So, be sure to wear shorts & a tank when you go in during the summer. However, to their credit, they do have fans throughout the salon, so I’ll also ask for a pedi chair near a fan next time.
FYI, tips are paid in cash & they offer a student discount with student ID.

Honestly, I’ve been to several nail places in the city and this is probably the best.
Cindys has the largest selection of gel colors.
The polish is beautifully displayed.
The young girl working the desk is sweet and efficient.
The hours and prices are awesome.
The parking isn’t a pain — its FREE too.
The place is beautifully decorated, clean, crisp white, glass chandeliers.
There are tons of pedi chairs.
Free wine.
Free wifi.
What more do you want? Good nail techs? Well yes, that should be the #1 requirement and Cindys for me has only had one bad experience.
The only negative is they don’t keep their appointments. You’ll still wait…

The business has grown and unfortunately the services provided has developed into a not so nice experience.
Will be checking out other places now.

I’ve tried about ⁶⁄₇ salons so far in the city and in Metairie and this is pretty much my favorite. They have so many people working that I haven’t had to wait more than 2 – 3 minutes to get seated and started work on. Often I’m the one taking longer because I’m trying to pick my color. They offer you wine or soft drinks and are pretty quick and efficient. They somehow sit you together if you come with a friend (I often bring my mom to get her nails did :)). They have a LARGE and popular selection of colors to chose from (def a plus) and I always leave loving my nails.
The onlyyyy problem for me is the distance since I live in the Gentilly area. Otherwise I’d be in there every 2 weeks religiously! Their great service keeps me coming at LEAST once a month despite the long drive and when I go to other nail salons in between… Well… I just realize why this place is my favorite!
Also, Cindy is amazing and if you have any issues she will work with you and even give you a break on some upcharges (I had gotten a new set once and apparently the coffin shape is more than other shapes which I wasn’t told about up front), especially if she knows you’re a loyal customer.
