Clarion Inn

I was looking for an affordable place to stay for the Mardi Gras that is close to the event area, quite, and safe. This particular hotel seemed to have it all. My mom, brother, and I stayed together in a room that is advertised as 3 people room; but, there were 2 beds and they were small to fit 2 people in. The rooms were smelly –it was like sharp soap smell mixed with humidity. Staff was ok. The gentilman who drove us to French Quarter and back was super nice and helpful. Parking was easy and safe for the rented car. I don’t think I will stay here again.

Terrible service. I was charged twice for the 4 rooms that I had paid for 3 months ago. The staff are terrible and it’s like talking to a wall. I paid $ 800 in July and then they just charged my credit card again. I called the hotel and they didn’t want to help me. I called the corporate 800 # and they said to call back tomorrow. Complete incompetence!!!

Very unprofessional and rude. But what more can you expect from a clarion? I’m sure the people who work here realize how crappy this hotel is and that’s why they treat people the way they do. Will not be returning and id advise others to do the same. Unbelievable.

Good lodging for cost; however, they are in the middle of renovations. Transforming from a local brand to a national chain. Older building, filthy pool, disinterested staffers, and overnight guest are second to banquet (party) guests. Called front desk for extra blankets, we have none, for a cot: we have none, wake-​up call: no working phone in room (called front desk from my cellphone), and asked to eat our LUNCH (from an outside resturant) in the breakfast area (tables): No, you can’t I’m cleaning and you’ll mess it up (12:41 pm) go figure! Mini fridge in room stinks and not very cold. Bedding okay, 2 flat sheets and a quarter overlay for the foot of beds! Bath: outdated for this brand, no towel racks tub slippery. Several parties in the rented ballrooms left little or no parking for hotel guests. Party guests crowded general/​public areas. Front desk seemed oblivious to everything.
Otherwise, close to restaurants, interstate access, Wal-​Mart, hospital, and a short drive to downtown/​popular attractions (5 – 7 minutes, based on traffic).
