We produce, at least, one, Salon de Danse, evening performance a year featuring professional dancers from South Louisiana and beyond.
Our instructors are available for lecture/demonstrations at local schools and businesses.
History
Established in 2007.
Crescent Lotus Dance Studio was created, in Post-Katrina New Orleans, to provide a place for non-traditional and ethnic dance forms to have a home. It was founded to offer adults a place to dance, express themselves, find themselves and find community through dance.
Meet the Business Owner
Kryss S.
Business Owner
Kryss has been dancing since the age of 5. Classically trained in Ballet a the Boston School of Ballet, Kryss moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University, where she minored in Dance. Kryss has extensive training in Ballet, Modern and Traditional Jazz, as well as, Belly Dance, Flamenco and the Indian Classical form of Mohini Attam. She has trained with such local and international Master Instructors as, Betty Karam, Teresa Torkanowsky, Sunanda Nair, Dalia Carella, Elena Lentini, Antonio Hidalgo, Antonia Vargas, Amel Tafsout and Morocco, to name a few.
Kryss’ dance background ultimately lead her to the practice of Dancemeditation and she received her teacher certification from the Dervish Society of America in Spring 2008.
Once considered a «God Damned Yankee», Kryss has made New Orleans her home and enjoys bringing the art, healing and excitement of dance to local New Orleanians, as well as, our guests.
