Great atmosphere! Fun environment without the crowds and drama of bourbon street. Good selection of beer and mixed drinks. And the best part, the prices are very very reasonable! Would definitely come back here!

This was a great little find out of the craziness of Bourbon St, nice little local bar with reasonable prices and great service. Too bad we found it our last night in town, we’ll definitely be back! Margaret was just plain awesome!

Love this bar!!! Something fun: there us a sign over the pool table that says,“no drinks or dogs on the pool table.”

Awesome little spot in the Quarter. A few blocks away from all the craziness. When we walked in, I thought of a quote from my favorite movie«The Shawshank Redemption», when one of the characters ask Morgan Freeman’s character why he was called Red? After a long pause he says«Maybe because I’m Irish». Me too, Morgan. Me too.

Stumbled upon this gem while we were making our way to our friends hotel. Two pool tables and great drink selection for a great price. There’s a chalk board to write your name for next game. And the staff is super friendly.

Best bar in the Quarter, especially if you play pool and love Guinness!

Great bar with a real neighborhood feel a few blocks from the bright lights and bustle of Bourbon Street. Bartenders are very friendly and helpful, shout out to Katie who made us feel so welcome. Great people, great prices and a real chill atmosphere, highly recommended.

Although I would like to not think of myself as a tourist in New Orleans the cold hard fact is that I am. How many times have you walked into a bar in a city that was not yours, or for that matter in your city and sat quietly unwelcomed. Fahey’s is not that bar. Katie, beautiful Katie… what a great host. She is lovely, friendly and generous a great and congenial bar owner who is so happy to have you there. Every time I am in New Orleans I am always glad that I went here and I won’t ever miss an opportunity to go back.

This is a corner bar that you wish was on your corner in every neighborhood you’ve ever lived in. An unassuming, class operation and a great off-hour hang. Blow off Bourbon Street and find another reason here to remember New Orleans fondly. Kudos to Katie & Jack(owners), from your newest fan from Vermont!

If you find this place the first day you’re in New Orleans, You will find yourself back here every day! Cold beers, pool tables, darts, locals that are too willing to tell you about the city. They have some great background music going all the time and you’ll most likely have to pet a dog or 2 while you’re there! When we go back to New Orleans, we will be sure to stay somewhere close to Fahy’s.

Fahy’s bestows everything an Irish Classic should, few frills, all thrills — corner bar entrace off the street — cozy home small town comfort — heavy pours from a well seasoned bartendress — pool tables, fine music — variety of clientale characters with an edge

While staying at the Maison Dupuy hotel, we started and ended our evenings at this Irish pub diagonally across the street. Just a gold olé Irish pub with tv’s, pool tables, games, great drinks and good service. Can’t go wrong!

Ahhh! It was a warm afternoon stopped in for the A/C and a whiskey, neither disappointed. The bar was dimly lit, the whiskey was smooth, and the clientele were a little rough round around the edges(just how I like them!). Overall, a Great little Irish Pub off the beaten path, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Will be back on my next pub crawl

A need for Irish whiskey I couldn’t contain. Stepped into Fahy’s where I remained. With a Redbreast in hand the bartender came, my life will never be the same. Crisp and smooth and on the rocks, after this I hope I can walk a couple of blocks. Guiness on nitro was next round, I left my car keys in the lost and found. Lord help me get to my place of rest, but only after I have another Redbreast.

Could not have had a better time here. Katie and Jack(and Steve) were so engaging and friendly we couldn’t wait to go back at various points in our stay. They are so proud of their city and excited to be in it that you can’t help but be taken in and have fantastic recommendations for places to check out in and out of the quarter. The fact that they are so dog friendly was a great bonus. Thanks for the fantastic conversation and mind-eraser, we’ll definitely be back.

In New Orleans more than any other city, appearances are deceiving. This city is an old city with some buildings dating back to the early 1800’s. What looks like an unappealing building may in fact be a refuge for one’s soul. Fahy’s is such a place. It is non-descript and unassuming from the exterior but once you venture inside it is a place where you will end up spending a few hours without even noticing the time. The walls and ceiling are decorated and have cool items such as trophies on the wall and posters on the ceiling. I also like the Christmas lights all over the bar. This isn’t one of them modern fru fru bars. This is a classic bar that doesn’t change much(if at all) through the years. The pool tables that are here will still be here 10 yrs from now. The cheap drinks will still be cheap when I am 60 yrs old sitting at the bar. Yup, this is a bar with staying power. You will always find more regulars here than tourists even though it is only two blocks from Bourbon Street. Pretty doesn’t last. Try keeping that shiny new car looking like new(believe me I’ve tried hard with every vehicle I have ever owned). You can probably keep it up for a few months or even a yr or two but eventually the dreaded ding or scratch happens. After that you lose hope with trying to keep it perfect. Fahy’s is like our cars after 5 yrs of use. It is still steady and reliable and now you have an emotional attachment to it that you didn’t have when you first got her. Fahy’s is a bar that I feel attached to. I love it here moreso now that when I first came here. It is a place where memories are made!

Really loved this place. Only had drinks here but what a great vibe. Laid back, friendly, seemed like more of a place for locals than tourists although they get plenty of out of towners. This is going to be a regular stop for me. It’s not pretentious or in your face Bourbon St style, it’s just comfortable and decent. Good beer selection, great staff, pool tables and dartboards… This place is really well run. Prices are decent as well. Almost hoping that it stays a bit of a secret!

Stopped in for a drink on a recent Saturday night while barhopping down Burgundy; played a couple games each of pool and darts. Aside #1: barkeep supplied great bar darts, and even offered to sharpen them up after a couple bounce outs. He then produced a giant stone, and spent a few minutes sharpening each arrow – he obviously knew his way around a set of darts. Aside #2: there appeared to be a bunch of «pool cue lockers» around the bar, as well as a slew of trophies, so I’m guessing this is the place to come to play some pool in the Quarter. If I owned a bar in the Quarter, this is the type of place I’d want: small, manageable bar on a quiet corner, with a nice pool table and a couple dart boards. No frills, what you see is what you get. Will def be back.
