I feel like this is the year that Krewe of Delusion has come into its own. The subkrewes were inventive and Trixie Minx was their Grand Marshal so that’s pretty awesome. Loved the marching group Krewe of King James(making their debut). With KdV getting slicker and fancier, Delusion felt more like grassroots than their lead in. I still don’t know what was up with that giant ball though.

I totally agree with Suzanne. This is a weird parade. This parade is so weird that I genuinely had no idea what this parade was even called until I read Suzanne’s review. I thought it was just some weird tag along Krewe of people who weren’t cool enough to make it into Krewe du Vieux. I don’t think anyone even pays much attention to this Krewe, sadly. They kind of bumble along after KdV rolls and play to whatever crowd is left. I feel like this Krewe would be better suited as a part of Chewbacchus or something. It just doesn’t fit here. It has all of the«homemade» feel that KdV has with less of the charm. I guess they figure that following one of the best parades of the season is a pretty good gig, but I think that they could do better.

Uhhhhhh, what happened? No, I mean, seriously, what is this fucking parade? The sub-krewes were poorly signed this year with very little indication of where one began and the other ended. What was a satirical group of renegade sub-krewes has turned into… a Krewe du Vieux knock-off. Seriously. If I wanted to see KdV, I’d go to KdV. Actually, I did go to KdV. I didn’t want to see KdV twice because KdV did KdV better, you know? Instead of being so esoteric, maybe Krewe Delusion could embrace their anarchy and be a magical fairy of parade drama that runs«sometime» after KdV instead of acting like KdV’s copy-cat younger sibling, running hot on their heels in ill-fitting clothing.(Burn? Burn.) Recommended beer: Ommegang Rare Vos Amber Ale, which sounds fancy and fun but really just tastes like disappointment and wasted cash.
