This place is great. Have been going for years. Erin and all the staff and genuinely lovely and personable and work with you and make you feel at ease.

I had a horrible experience with color. I asked to go blonder and showed her the picture I wanted. Long story short, my hair was orange. It was horrible. She proceeded to tell me that what I wanted wasn’t something that could be accomplished in one session. She told me that at the END of the session, not the beginning. I was set to leave for a vacation 2 days later so they couldn’t fix it until after I came back. I was embarrassed to walk outside with my hair let alone go on vacation so I had to pay more money at another salon to fix it. I also had 2 job interviews scheduled for the week after my vacation. I wanted to look polished and fresh for my interview. Instead I looked like a teenager that did her own hair with box color in her room. I’ve been to the other place twice and it’s going to take at least one more time to complete the color correction.
I’ll never go there again and I’ll warn any other blondes not to either.

Possibly the sweetest salon in New Orleans. Cozy and friendly. Great service and excellent conversation. Cool neighborhood vibe with Swirl wine shop, Fair Grinds coffee shop and 1000 Figs café next door. Steps from City Park and Bayou St. John.

Love Lux Salon! Erin is the best! Lux is a clean, friendly place with a great warm, mid-​city feel. Always leave there with beautiful hands and feet and my sides hurting from laughing and having such a good time!

Agnes is awesome!
My first hair appointment with her was on January 15^th.
She is all about at making you feel at home and making sure she gets your vision of what you want.
My hair looks great and I receive compliments on the cut all the time.
I can’t wait to go back!

I received a pedicure from Courtney, whose only verbal interaction with me was «Switch.» As in, pick up your other foot.
I was visiting Nola, and scheduled the pedicure for the end of my trip. Because I had been walking all over the city, I was really looking forward to this foot massage. When I made the appointment, I was promised an hour long pedicure for $ 40 (which was a little cheaper than other local day spa rates).
The most enjoyable part of the pedicure was the 10 minute soak, although the seat (which consisted of two pillows propped up on the wall) was terribly uncomfortable. I did not receive any form of foot massage, and Courtney was finished painting my toenails by the time I had been there for a mere 20 minutes.
Now, my toenails look fantastic… but my feet do not feel any better. This day spa was near where I was staying so it was very convenient, but I will be seeking out other options during return visits.

I have come here several times they say they are open, and they are always dark. When I finally came over when they were open (after calling several times to no answer) they told me they have nothing for 3 months. I have heard the cuts are great, but good luck getting in. I look like an upstanding citizen. I wasn’t a gutter punk or anything. Not a diss, just no real work ethic there, nor any interest in expanding. Which actually makes for a cool «secret» club that I’m not a part of but wish I were. :(

Agnes is an awesome gal and cuts fabulous hair. Best haircut I’ve gotten in NOLA, and she is so nice and cool that I love coming back. She can get booked up quickly especially around wedding season and the holidays so it’s best to schedule at least three weeks in advance.

Agnes and Erin are amazing. Agnes has been doing my hair for a few years now and she is a master of her craft. The salon and spa are super relaxing and easy to get to.

I have been in New Orleans for over a year now for work, and have only been going to LUX for my mani/​pedis. After the first visit I was hooked. Not only is LUX clean and cute in a great area of MidCity, but the women who work there are priceless. I have enjoyed going there for the conversation as much as the manicures and pedicures! And it is also conveniently located next to SWIRL, one of my fave wine shops in the City …
So if you want a great manicure/​pedicure, nice people, restaurant reccomendations and any other New Orleans recommendations go to LUX.

i love this place! i’m from new orleans and every time i go home, i try to schedule a facial. they always do a great job and cure my travel/​horrible food induced breakouts i always get when i go to nola.

what an amazing place! agnes is one of the best hairstylist in the city, she makes me look fabulous every time. erin and courtney give a great pedicure too. very cool space with such nice ladies and in a great location.

Courtney gave me a pedicure the week before my wedding, and it lasted through the wedding and both weekends of Jazz Fest! Probably the best pedicure I’ve ever gotten!
Erin helped me schedule a wine and cheese party (with the help of the folks next door at Swirl) and is one of the most friendly people I’ve met. They let us almost take over the entire shop, and still chatted effortlessly with local friends and clients who stopped in to say hi.
I’ll be back on future visits to nola!

Absolutely best of the best!
To be honest I don’t frequent salons/​spas at all really, but this place makes me want to be a regular. Having worked in an ad agency the first thing I noticed was the beautifully thoughtful design that was carried throughout the entire place, from the gift certificates, to the buisness/​appt cards to the signage. Then upon walking into the place we were warmly greeted by the owner and another employee who made us feel so welcomed. Half of the reason I don’t go to places like this is because of the awkward encounters I typically have. I’m not used to being in a salon and everything seems a bit foreign to me. Then to top it all off I never end up having anything in common with the stylist and we both have to endure awkward conversation (or worse, silence) with a complete stranger for a half an hour or more. This experience was the complete opposite! The owner gave my girlfriend and I our mani/​pedi and was absolutely wonderful! She was a wealth of knowledge about the area, local businesses, etc and the conversation never died out because her dynamic personality made everything seem so fun relaxing. Please give this place a try, I have never been so impressed with a buisness.

I went here on my wedding day for a manicure and pedicure. I was by myself and really needed an hour to unwind, and this was perfect. The woman who owns the shop (whose name escapes me) was incredible. My pedicure was thorough and relaxing and exactly what I needed on such a stressful day. I am really, really ticklish and a little squeamish about having someone pick at my nails, so I don’t usually get them done, but this was great.
The shop is darling and spotless and the service is sweet and professional. It really feels like a spa in there, not a nail shop. Also, my pedicure lasted for 3 weeks, and I wear sandals everyday! This is right next to Swirl wine shop and a bunch of great restaurants. Everything about my experience was fabulous.
