Marigny Recording Studio is a full multi-​track audio production facility located in the heart of New Orleans’ Fauborg Marigny District. Our services include music production/​engineering, voice over recording, sound design for film and video, and special events.

History

Established in 2012.

Partners Jason Rhein and Rick G. Nelson came together in 2012 to form Marigny Recording Studio inside the historically repurposed Luthjen’s Dance Hall of the 1950s.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Co-​Owner Jason Rhein has over 15 years of experience in music and video production. Rhein served three consecutive seasons as Music Producer for the Emmy-​winning Disney television series Imagination Movers and worked for nine years as Technical Director for the national public radio music show, American Routes. Jason also owns Elephant Quilt Productions, a video production company that makes promotional videos, identity films, documentaries, training videos and more.

Co-​owner Rick G. Nelson is a professional musician, engineer, and producer in New Orleans. Rick also frequently composes, performs and records string arrangements for many clients. In 2002, after graduating from the University of North Texas, Rick caught the attention of Tim DeLaughter and joined the Polyphonic Spree. Nelson is also a current member of Afghan Whigs. In the studio he’s worked with a number of artists including the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Afghan Whigs, James McMurtry and many others.
