I discovered Mattei’s Cycle Supply through a series of referrals from other shops. I needed some work on a set of vintage carbs and all fingers in town pointed to Brad for the expertise. I had no idea the gold mine of experience, skill, knowledge and helpfulness that I was about to encounter! Brad’s specialty is drag racing bikes, specifically the Suzuki, Hayabusa. He can do most anything needed on any bike but drag racing bikes are his forte. Mattei Cycle Supply is the kind of shop that any customer wants to walk into. Brad is accessible, friendly and knowledgeable. His shop is so meticulous I’m certain you could eat off of any surface in there. His work is equally meticulous. He personally does all the work that comes into the shop. I will never take my motorcycles any where else. A good mechanic is hard to find, Brad is simply amazing! His cheerful demeanor and expansive knowledge make him my go-to person for all things motorcycle. Brad is busy, so always call if you intend on dropping a bike off for repair. He is always happy to work on parts that have already been pulled.

Mattei’s is a local motorcycle shop that is DEFINITELY the best in Nola. Owner and operator Brad Mattei was completely flooded out by Hurricane Katrina. He returned and rebuilt his shop after the storm. Every bike that comes into the shop is worked on by Brad. He’s a meticulous mechanic and truly cares about his work. Furthermore, he has far more capabilities versus other dealers. He can actually machine custom parts, has an extensive network of suppliers, and is an expert in electrical systems. Brad is also a joy to speak with. He’s been everywhere, done everything, and he’s just a great story teller. He’s been in nola for so long and to hear about his recovery after the storm is just amazing. The bottom line is that if you mechanical work, Brad is the best you can get. He’s the best I’ve ever seen. He is a pleasure to work with. He doesn’t charge as much as he should for such great work. It’s a rare combination of high quality work for budget prices. The only drawback to the shop is its location in a not-so-great part of town. But trust me, it’s worth your effort to drive out there. After working with Brad you will kick yourself for having ever tried another shop. One word of advice: watch that curb when you pull into the parking lot. It’s surprisingly high.
