Mister Apple

I really went back and forth on this, between two and one. And I decided that I wasn’t physically injured, so it’s a 2. But a weak 2. Huge let down.
I’m just looking for a praline after dinner, trying a few different kinds. Laura’s were good the night before, this place is close, let’s try one. I got a regular and a rum flavor, just to try them out… and they were… awful. Just big lumps of sugar with the texture of half-​wet sand. You could gently squeeze them between your fingers and they would just smoosh around like you were sculpting a sand castle. And the mouth feel of all that grainy sugar is just singularly unpleasant. No one wants to eat a mouthful of crunchy moist sugar. I couldn’t even finish a quarter of one. I feel like the sugar just wasn’t cooked enough. Plus very little cream or rum flavor… just…sickly sweet sugar with no sophistication.
So I put them down, and actually started to doubt… is this what Laura’s were like the night before? Is this what other pralines have been like, and I just can’t remember? No, because fast forward to the next night, I had another one from a different place, and yeah, they’re supposed to be a hundred times better than this. Hopefully this was an off night? But both were like this, and they would have to have been from different batches, given different flavors (I assume). I threw the uneaten ones away…

Nice little place for some sweets. The apples are yummy and they are kind and patient to little ones who can’t decide quickly.

Like a kid in a candy store! Chocolate covered goods, ice cream, candy apples and more! I got a little bit of everything minus the ice cream ;)

We ordered one apple (the Butterfinger one because he ran out of the flavor that we wanted) 10 minutes before the shop closed. The guy at the counter was kind and welcoming. The service and the apple deserve 5 stars, but the price took me back a little at $ 8 and some change so I knocked a star off for that.

We visited Mister Apple 2x during our 3 day visit to New Orleans. I had the Carmel Pecan apple, which was my favorite! My girls had white chocolate, cookies & cream and butterfinger all fabulous! Apples were fresh and crunchy, Chocolate covered strawberries were sweet and delicious and the Cashew Chocolate praline was superb! Must Try!

We visited mister Apple twice so far during our stay in the French quarter. The first time, I bought a praline. It was later at night and the person who helped me didn’t even make eye contact with me, it’s like he was annoyed he had a customer. I asked for one praline and he gave me one that was broken — seriously, if you are going to give a praline make sure it’s a good one or give out two! The second time we went in with our kids and got ice cream and chocolate covered pretzel rods. The lady who helped us was so rude– she told us to swipe our card and signed. She then walked away … No thank you or bye or anything. They should really work on friendliness at this joint.

Very sweet young lady that helped us however my snowball was pretty chunky and watery. I was going to post them on our IG page @the_marketing_chicks as a place we visited but I’ll be reaching out to them via email to offer a few tips and suggestions instead. Man I wanted a snow ball so bad too #sad

we are very displeased with the apple of the month club. we have not received orders and cannot seem to get anyone to return our calls. the product is wonderful, but customer service is extremely lacking. we just want to rectify the situation, but it doesnt seem to be a priority for the company. for such a frivolous product in a down economy, id think they would go above and beyond for existing customers to encourage loyalty and future orders. i would not recommend this company

I come get an apple each time I’m in Nola and I get the Carmel Apple & the Red Candy is so Good!

This place is pretty good. I got the Oreo candied Apple and it was so sweet, couldn’t even finish it. Though, the price for my candied Apple was EIGHT dollars. Maybe I’m out of touch with how much candied apples are worth, but seems a bit pricy for me.

The praline apple is amazing. Service is super friendly. I only wish they had a cozy place to sit and eat with a coffee. Great stop while striking the french quarter.

Best caramel apples I have had. The plain praline is phenomenal! Also got the monster ethnicity is good to. Apples are crisp and tart. Smore bark was not good. The plain caramel is delicious. It is spendy but well worth it.

After a moderately filling meal at Felipe’s, headed over here for the sugar fix, because we didn’t have enough with all the Hurricanes prior.
Important thing to note about these apples, they are actually sliced up and easy to pull apart. With that fact not in hand, I still ordered a Deluxe Monster apple ($ 8.75). A little on the expensive side, yet it’s so much more than you’d expect. Chocolate chunks, nuts, drizzle, caramel, all over a juicy apple.
A bunch of other non-​apple items to choose from gives this place enough variety to want to come back.

The apples here are so pretty and tasty. Brought back 3 for my kids to enjoy on my last visit through. The best one was the praline covered one. Yummy!!!

Well, great customer service, and friendly. But we only got some chocolate and apple pecan ice cream and some bottled water.
In a nutshell, $ 4-​something for a small scoop of ice cream and it wasn’t even homemade, so it’s a ‘meh’…
Sorry, won’t be coming back.

Sweet and tart, juicy diabetic apples of sinful greatness! Let me stop. This was an great surprise. I’m not a sweet fan, but the customer service was phenomenal as were the apples. Looking forward to returning. And the pralines were sweet and have a lingering pecan nuttiness that had me desiring more.

Yummy candied apples! A huge variety to choose from and the shop also has an array of other goodies, chocolate, and ice cream. The pralines are good but super super sweet, can only have a little.

ohhhhh this is as good and it is pretty but I tried the pralines and didn’t love them. I know Pralines are something this town is famous for and these were the only we tried … maybe we just don’t like them because these are reported some of the best in town.

Wonderful prailine coated apple! You can’t go wrong with any of them but this is my favorite. They will slice the apples for you which makes them a lot easier to eat. Don’t miss this place.

Dude. There’s a NutterButter cookie that has been dipped in chocolate.
I didn’t need to see anything else. There are pralines and pretzels and marshmallows and strawberries and bananas and turtles and krispies and… and… apples.
We had the weekend special. We did not have enough people to finish it.
It was pretty & caramel and something kinda crunchy & we were defeated. They cut it into 6 pieces for us. Still we could not complete its sticky sweet challenge. There were 2 of us and 2 apple slices left when we tapped out. We had made our most noble of attempts.
The Unilocal deal with the $ 5 for $ 10 is a use it or lose it thing, we used it.
And I’ll be back.

You know something tastes really good if it leaves a distinct memory. These apples are a work of art… and freaking delicious.
Take one home… and then deep fry it.

They’re candy apples are awesome! I haven’t tried the other flavored apples, but it is on my to do list lol. There snoballs are very good too! It works wonders on a hot day. Never disappointed.

This is neat mom and pop treat shop on a corner and it has almost anything sweet your heart desires. I really was craving a chocolate covered strawberry and decided to stop in here. I placed an order for my chocolate covered strawberry then my cousins and friends decided to get a snow cone as well. I got a strawberry and Pina Colada snow cone. The staff was friendly in here and our service was fast. My snow cone was so good I made a mess on my shirt and I had to walk around with a cool aide stain all day, but it was worth it! My chocolate covered strawberry was also amazing! My cousin only spent like 20 or so dollars for four snow cones and my strawberry. Which I think is pretty good pricing

Yikes the product was good but they were way understaffed, rough customer service and mis-​equipment. If you go in just be prepared to wait a while.
After a 10 minute wait I ordered a milkshake which the poor lone worker Danielle got splattered all over herself bc the equipment is not made for the milkshakes. 4 people walked out bc the shake was taking so long and the second worker was apparently only a stock boy.
Then I checked out and used a Unilocal coupon. Danielle actually growled in frustration at the concept. Then questioned if I was a regular bc another girl named Meghan B was ripping her off with the Unilocal.She wrote down the Unilocal code after a little more hassling and swore the girl ripping her off was me until I offered to show her my out of state id.

«Seeing the candy apples in the window will lure you in». After lunch last weekend, this was a definite stop for us on our way back to our car. It’s a small, corner shop, but the treats are made with love. I ordered the chocolate-​caramel apple! It was luscious and the caramel was oooey-​gooey good! They sliced it for us before they wrapped it, so we were able to easily consume in the car on the way home. My only complaint was that it started to water after I left the other half in the fridge, so that made me a bit nervous. Other than that, I really enjoyed the apple, from what we got to consume of it. The prices were comparable to other candy apples I have purchased in the past. Even though they are located in the busy French Quarter area, I did not feel like I got ripped on the pricing! I will be back the next time I am in NOLA.

If I told you that my boyfriend has decided to drive 70 miles to New Orleans just for a candy apple, you would think we were crazy. Please don’t judge us. If it helps he is in culinary school. We first came across this sticky jewel one Saturday afternoon during our stroll on Magazine St. We chose the Butterfinger candy apple and it was crunchy, sticky and the apple was fresh as fresh can get. Apples are 8 bucks, which can be a little on the moderate side for a treat, but its worth it every once in a while. Plus there is a Unilocal deal where you can get $ 5 dollars for $ 10 dollar deal at Mister Apple. Be sure to check it out. Who could ask for more? Needless to say, the last two check ins we have tried the original location on North Peters. The lady that cuts our apples is so nice and always gives us information about the area and some Mr. Apple history while we decide to try or not to try another flavor. Luckily this time we did, we grabbed one Butterfinger apple and a Cheesecake apple. They were both really good and hopefully he does not read this review because I am going to get him a few for his upcoming birthday. If he doesn’t decide to make the drive again before I do.

Came here to get our sweet fix on. Enjoy a candy apple, fancy chocolate, ice cream, or the mega-​huge snow balls (snow cones).
We got the latter. They do NOT skimp on the flavored syrup! You will not run out of flavor before you run out of ice.
