I drive all the way from the CBD to do business with her.
It gives me a good excuse to visit the wonderful and diverse uptown area that she chooses to call ‘home’. She has my business forever!

Needed to get a Canadian passport photo taken and after several attempts at other places like Walgreens, CVS, etc, Pack Rat was the only place that actually knew of the requirements. Fast and friendly service, and affordable prices to boot. I’ll be keeping my business with them for future needs!

Marylou helped me for at least 30 minutes trying to format a photo and get it printed in a strange size.
Really A+ effort she never made me feel like I was a hassle which this damn photo is believe me.

I recently had an enormous photo project for my office with a tight deadline and lots of moving parts. In a panic, I was racing around trying to find somewhere that could print out 20+ high quality images to be framed and hung as seamlessly as possible at an affordable price!
Having no luck, I eventually stumbled upon PR and a major weight was immediately lifted off of my shoulders. Both women in the shop were extremely responsive, kind and willing to put in extra work and time to get this job finished.
When all was said and done (and printed!) MarieLou, the owner, spent an hour with me cutting down the images and placing them perfectly in all 23+ frames!
Pack Rat saved my day and was wonderful to work with. I will never go anywhere else for my printing needs!

You will not find a better shipping service than Pack Rat. They are conveniently located, very efficient and very knowledgeable. It is such a pleasant experience going in there rather than going to the post office, FEDEX or UPS. Not only do they do the shipping, they have all the materials there and will even vacuum seal those plastic bags travel bags for you! You can save your information in their computer for a quick repeat chips also. They are my favorite New Orleans business. Honestly.

Lots of place advertise that they’re your «office on the road», but this place really is. I work on movies and television shows and travel all over the place. Pack Rat keeps my mail coming to me no matter where I am. Need something scanned, need something photocopied, Carol and MaryLou and the rest of their worker bees are all over it, making good things happen. However did I get along without them?!!

This place is great for all of your shipping needs. My beau and I both work for ourselves and find that we have to ship things for our businesses from time to time. Weather it be a large wooden painting, or cheap product merchandise this place is always our go to for shipping. The owner is in there almost every time we go. She’s a straight forward, honest and to-​the-​point type of gal. I enjoy giving my business to a local shipper instead of just the large Fedex places. The location is perfect in the middle of Magazine, usually easy parking and quick service. They also print out images, sell cards etc. lots to offer at Packrat on Magazine.

Pack Rat has saved me numerous times. I work in a school right near here and needed some documents enlarged, in color. The Pack Rat team got it done for me, at a great price. I ship everything through them, buy my stamps there… just so much better hours and don’t have to wait at the Post Office for their traditionally poor, slow service.

I can’t remember when they opened, I have been going since shortly after Katrina when they were an absolute life saver. They are great for services beyond shipping. Recently I needed to enlarge some text to poster size for a presentation I was preparing. Yes this is the type of job most would reflexively send to kinkos. I emailed the files to them and my posters were ready within a few hours at a very reasonable price. Whenever I can get the same goods or services at a locally owned business I opt for the hometown business. It just makes sense to support a woman owned, local business rather than a huge corporation, doesn’t it? Another service I appreciate: when you send a package they store the recipient’s address. The next time I send to the same recipient no need to prepare a mailing label or bring the address. They have it. I also appreciate that because they use several carriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc) once they input the destination and weight you are able compare prices and delivery times between the carriers. Ditto the comments of everyone else: the owner and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It really is fun doing business with them, I always leave smiling.

I called ahead of time and they said I could print from a USB. They did not tell me I would have to rent the computer for $ 2.50. So when I got there I had to rent a computer for one black and white print. The one print cost me $ 3.25! Which is crazy. The nice thing to do would be to not charge me for two minutes on the computer. I was in a rush going to a meeting, so I had no other option than to print there. Oh and also I was trying to print double sided and they did not know how to do that, they could not even help me!

I love this place as much as I hate going to the regular post office. I’ve been mailing packages from Pack Rat for about a year now, so after yet another great trip there this morning, I knew it was time to write a review about my experiences with them.
To begin with, every time I’ve gone in, I’ve been greeted with either a smile or a friendly hello, and my wait time to speak with the clerk has never been more than a minute or two. Best of all, they know what they’re doing and get you in and out in no time! Today’s entire trip took 8 minutes from the time I put money in my parking meter to the time I got back out to my car. Here’s what the clerk was able to do in that amount of time:
1) Find out my name & address, plus the addressee’s name, address & other contact info.
2) See what I had to ship, measure it, figure out the best box & packing materials to make sure it got to TX in one piece.
3) Price out the best way to send the package overnight with guaranteed delivery, for the cheapest price. This included looking at different size boxes, different carriers, different timelines, and once she found the cost, she actually went back and did it all again with some subtle changes just to see if she could get me a better price (without me asking). This cut about $ 20 off of my final cost.
4) Listen to me prattle on about how important that this present get to TX unharmed, and calmly show me exactly how she was going to pack it to make sure it didn’t break in transit.
In the end, the overnight fee for guaranteed delivery via FedEx ended up being roughly $ 40, which is what I’d expected. What I didn’t expect was that she’d include all the packing materials and time to pack this sucker securely for just a couple of dollars more. All I had to do was bring the present in and hand it to her, and the piece of mind and time saved with her help in the process is easily worth double what I paid.

Just went in to get something notarized, copied and shipped. The staff was so nice and HELPFUL! They gave me some good advice and when they thought I was new to town, they welcomed me and even offered to pass my info along if I was looking for work. I have been there before, but they went over the top today and I really appreciate it. I will be back!

I work in walking distance to this place & had to go in twice in 2 days for a few things. I think the ladies who work here are friendly and super helpful. The prices aren’t that ridiculous if you consider how much of a pain it is to go to the post office! One thing they offer that makes things really easy & convenient, is tracking on their website. You get the number on your receipt, type it in on the website & boom, you can see all the fun stuff your package is doing before it gets where it needs to be. I am so grateful for this service.
They made copies for me, had tons of packing stuff in stock that suited all my package’s needs. Although it’s a tad bit cramped in there, I was able to walk in comfortably with a stroller and the wait wasn’t too bad either. And my package arrived safe & right on time… which, in the end, is what really matters most, right?

The people at Pack Rat are very nice and very helpful. Things can be a bit disorganized at times, but their willingness to help makes up for it. I would definitely recommend using Pack Rat for any shipping, whether USPS or overnight.

I went to pack rat to mail a cord and envelope. I waited for eight minutes to be waited on or acknowledged. When I was moving towards the door to leave, a woman whom I assumed was a customer on one of the rental computers groaned and told me not to leave, she’d help me.
She told me to grab a bubble wrap envelope and put the stuff in there, which I did. She then asked me if I wanted it mailed express and I said no. She printed a label and I was surprised to see the charge was $ 16 and change. I asked her if I could just use a USPS flat rate box, but she said she had already printed the label, so I had to pay that fee. I asked her why she didn’t suggest using the smaller (and $ 10 cheaper) method, and she said if I knew about that, I should have asked for it.
I always try to support independent businesses, but I will never go back to this one — classic example of trying to mark up on an unsuspecting customer, then not offering an out.
