The only reason why i reviewed this course is to offset Jack C’s review. Jack C mentions a lack of etiquette and claims that 5somes clog up the golf course. Jack C also mentions that a Onesome and twosome should be invited to play through. A onesome does not have right of way, on any golf course, at any time, sir. You should know better, Jack C. And how are you allowed to go off by yourself, anyway? You should be paired up, especially on weekends. If you are a solo or a twosome and you hold up 5 people, then you should be hit down upon, because it is you who are holding up the course.

The course itself is great. Everything in good shape, not very difficult, but it’s good for an easy, fun time. The only criticism that is really deserved is the lack of etiquette, and it being condoned by the organization. It is not uncommon to see 5somes and 6somes playing. This in itself is not objectionable — but the issue is that it clogs up the course, and if you’re solo or 2, you should be invited to play through. Well, you’re not, and if you ask to, people look at you like you’re crazy or flatly refuse. I’ve been allowed to play through, then had balls hit into me. I’ve been refused. And I’ve had to skip whole holes to escape the huge parties that are allowed to slow the course to a crawl. The Rangers do nothing about it btw. So it’s a really great course, and I like that people are easygoing, but there’s definitely some real rudeness that happens involving oversized parties.

After having driven by this park and golf course many times(it is across from the Southern University at New Orleans), I’ve stopped a couple of times as it is a nice place to sit and read. There have been many times I have driven by to see people having picnics, birthday parties, and other family bonding times here. The golf course is always lovely to look at. I came this last weekend for the Gentilly Fest, a small festival for local artists, local food, and interesting music acts. Admission was free. The food was priced reasonably. The trinkets and other items for sale were on the spendy side, in my opinion. There was a great kids area with plenty of things for them to be amused with. The police were present, without being overbearing. It was very interesting. I will at least be back to enjoy the park.

Beautiful 18 hole urban golf course. The course was completely reworked after the Federal Flood of ’05. Brand new clubhouse in 2014. Ride or walk. Well maintained. Bald eagle nest on hole # 11.
