The Quilted Owl is one of those stores you will either love or be completely indifferent to. They are dedicated to the serious quilters in the area. It looks like an old converted house on Jefferson Highway. There is some parking on the side and a few spaces behind the building(where the wheelchair ramp is). You enter the store and are greeted cheerfully by whomever is in front. You can tell from the attitude of the staff, this isn’t just a job. They enjoy what they are doing and helping people pick the right material to complete a project. This isn’t a basic chain fabric store in a strip mall where you have to settle for what is there, not what you want. I was amazed at the quality and quantity of quilt fabrics & kits they have. You are going to find what you want. And it is not just quilting supplies as there was embroidery and wool kits. As well as a nice supply of books and pamphlets if you need ideas for your next project. They offer classes in the back room(one was going on when I was in the store).
