Specialties
Nestled among the live oaks and colorful clapboard houses of mid-city New Orleans and City Park sits Ralph Brennan’s Ralph’s on the Park. At the heart of this vibrant restaurant is New Orleans born and bred Chef Chip Flanagan, whose globally-inspired interpretations of local cuisine are influenced by the eccentricity, diversity and traditions for which New Orleans is known.
History
Established in 2003.
In January 2003, the property was turned over to yet another legendary New Orleans restaurateur, Ralph Brennan. Ralph teamed up with Gerard Maras, the culinary wizard of Mr. B’s and Gerard’s Downtown fame, and Richard Shakespeare, a twenty-five year Commander’s Palace management veteran to open Ralph’s on the Park — «For Locals, By Locals» — in the former Tavern on the Park location. An extensive renovation created 280 seats, including three private dining rooms upstairs.
Meet the Business Owner
Ralph B.
Business Owner
Ralph Brennan’s passion for restaurants and hospitality was ignited as a teenager in the 1960’s with a summer job as a prep cook at the original Brennan’s Restaurant on Royal Street in the New Orleans French Quarter. The hands-on physical work coupled with kitchen camaraderie, smells and flavors and the behind the scenes restaurant activity were fascinating to an impressionable young boy and inspired a lifelong enthusiasm for all things epicurean.
A third-generation restaurateur, Ralph is the owner and operator of Red Fish Grill in the New Orleans French Quarter, Ralph’s on the Park in Mid-City New Orleans, Ralph Brennan’s Café NOMA housed inside New Orleans Museum of Art, café b, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen® located in the Downtown Disney® District at the DISNEYLAND® Resort, and Ralph Brennan Catering & Events. Ralph is a co-owner of Mr. B’s Bistro and Commander’s Palace in New Orleans and Brennan’s of Houston.
