Lovely boutique art gallery on frenchman st. The owner, Scott, was very knowlegible, friendly and helpfull. His current exhibit was a tribute to Clarence John Laughlin. Great stop for any photography enthusiast or photo art collector. You can also get a custom portrait done by Scott Edwards by appointment. He’ll even show you other local artists’ portfolios to help you choose a style that suits you best. Honest guy, nice gallery.

On the way back from Frenchmen Street I happened upon this gallery. I have been to plenty of galleries on Magazine and Royal Street, but found this location to be slightly different, in a good way. The current exhibit was very cool shots of famous local landmarks, with a twist. It is hard to describe exactly what the twist was, but imagine the cathedral with weird boxes around it. I realize that most likely makes no sense, but I thought the additions were cool. Prices were much cheaper than I have seen in the more trendy galleries. I think a tourist or lover of New Orleans would appreciate these shots. While researching the gallery for my review, I learned that they have had some other very cool exhibitions. The Burlesque Exposed and Barry Kaiser exhibits in particular looked very cool. In closing, if you are looking for photographic art, check out Scott Edwards Gallery.

I’m always a fan of a good gallery. This one wasn’t too bad. It’s conveniently located right next to Frenchmen St., so I’m sure that it gets a lot of foot traffic from people in that area. This gallery is all photography. I feel like it’s mostly geared towards tourists. They have pictures of St. Louis Catherdral and New Orleans homes and stuff like that. Probably nothing that would overly appeal to locals. They are nice pictures, but nothing really stood out to me and nothing interested me enough to consider paying over $ 300.
