Tere Vives MD

Dr Vives is an excellent doctor. My children have been been seeing her since before katrina. She predicted my son would be near sighted and that he was also color blind. My daughter was born premature so she had eye problems like strabismus and clogged tear ducts. Dr Vives had corrected these through multiple surgeries. Its a scary thing when your baby has to have eye surgery, but Dr Vives educated me on the procedures and calmed my fears. I trust in her 100%. She also diagnosed my daughter will also need glasses. Dr Vives is caring and compassionate and more importantly, an excellent doctor.
I just dont like her new location but worth the quality of service.

I wish I could give Dr. Vives fewer stars. She was my nightmare. She misread a simple lab result and told my wife that she had a serious neurological disease that the labs actually said I did not have. In addition to the thousands of dollars her mistake cost us and the countless hours we spent thinking my wife was going to go blind or die in the next few years, when her mistake was pointed out to her, Dr. Vives did not accept that she made a mistake delaying resolution of the situation. Still to this day, Dr. Vives shows no contrition about her mistake and claims the lab made a mistake.
If Dr. Vives was unclear of the results or confused by the results, she should have checked with the lab before telling her patient. In reality, it appears Dr. Vives glanced at the labs, didn’t bother to read the other 3 pages which clearly said the patient was negative for this disease, and conveyed a wrong result. Our experience with her indicated a reckless, unprofessional, and honestly, incompetent doctor. And to make matters worse, we had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour every time I saw her. AVOID.
