Description

Specialties

Jack’s Rhythms has been a fixture on Main Street in New Paltz for over 20 years, featuring new and used CDs, new and used vinyl, and used books. We try to keep the selection left of the center and interesting, and the store has been described in these terms by one online reviewer: «Flipping through the new and used CD, LP, & book racks is a treasure hunt.»

History

Established in 1990.

Jack’s Rhythms was founded by Jack Goldberg, who ran the store in New Paltz for twenty years and was a fixture of village life. Jack sold the store to his long time employee John Lefsky in 2009, and sadly, Jack passed away early in 2010. The store continues to carry his name in tribute to the tremendous life he led, not just as a shop keeper and music lover, but as a man who lived to connect with other people. He is missed.
