Beckwith Pointe

Came here for a wedding very, very, very recently. The location is very quaint. The coat check woman was very nice and dealt with me going into my bag every second (I know I was a pain), but I tipped her. The space is very spacious but reminds me of a boat (because of the smoked glass windows). I did like the fact that the catering people were attentive and of different backgrounds. However, I was a bit put off by one of the catering staff; it was a dark brown skinned gentleman with a mole near his top lip. The wedding was a same-​sex union. While there was a couple standing by a table touching one another affectionately and sharing a light kiss, I caught the server looking and rolling his eyes in disgust. That was the second time I caught him reacting like that that day. I’m not sure if they told him what kind of wedding he would be working but this gentleman needs to learn tolerance. Something like that would keep me from wanting to celebrate anything there. The food was palatable and the beef short rib was tasty. Everything was very clean with the exception of the bathroom which looked like two tornadoes were swing-​dancing in it.

Beckwith Pointe is the last on a strip of beach clubs/​catering halls that line Davenport Avenue. Do people still maintain memberships in beach clubs? I feel like that sort of thing is fading fast. Anyway, I’ve been to Beckwith a few times over the years and my latest experience kinda left a mehhhh taste in my mouth.
There is nothing too grand about Beckwith upon driving up to it. Compared to its neighbors the Surf Club and VIP Country Club with their pearly gates, lush foliage, and waterfalls which hit you as soon as you drive in, Beckwith has a simple porte-​cochère with maybe one small waterfall — nothing too impressive. The inside has that typical catering hall feel — lots of floral tones, marble, chandeliers, floor-​to-​ceiling windows with views of the water, etc. It’s nice but again it doesn’t hit you with a wow factor.
This latest function I went to was one of those typical catering hall experiences. The cocktail hour only lasted 35 mins, and I only saw three people walking around with food — for a party of ~260 people that’s not enough. Cocktail hours are usually my favorite part of any catering hall event so this was disappointing. The food left something to be desired — my rigatoni marinara had little to no flavor (my brother described the sauce as hot salsa :-x). While my salmon was good, the mashed potatoes it came with tasted like nothing — typical catering hall fare overall. Another thing I noticed was that our water never had ice in it — even when they were refilling our glasses the pitcher was void of ice. Dessert was my favorite part — mostly because the pastries they served were outsourced from my favorite Italian bakery in the Bronx.
Overall, not impressed with Beckwith Pointe — there are better venues to have your event at. One thing to note though is that Beckwith is closing their doors — from what I’ve heard the owners sold the property with the last bookings being in April of 2017. Beckwith sits on prime waterfront real estate, so let’s hope it’s successor lives up to its location.

This is a private club in New Rochelle that offers a breathtaking day and night view alongside the waters. I came as an event guest and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery as well as the event itself. I noticed there were plenty of parking and a valet option, all situated on the peninsula (which is a whole 12 acres!) with cabanas, a beach, pools, and playgrounds for tennis/​basketball. They must be kept busy with all the weddings, corporate events, and celebrations year round.
There were three separate events happening the night I was in attendance and seemed to be slightly confusing upon entering the premises as there was no signage or staff to help direct you to the right party. The event kicked off with a beautiful ceremony overlooking the harbor and continued with a cocktail hour, passed hors d’oeuvres, pasta and carving stations, dinner reception, and dessert.
I sampled BBQ chicken wrapped with bacon, risotto croquettes, pigs in a blanket, mini lump crab cakes, eggplant rollatini, paella, fried calamari, broccoli rabe, Hawaiian baby back ribs, tortellini carbonara, vegetables with dips, turkey breast, roast sirloin, and seasonal fruit. We were able to choose from beef short rib, salmon, and a chicken dish for the main. The wedding cake and a self-​help dessert station with coffee and tea finished off the night.
The restrooms were well maintained and lighting on the premises were adequate both inside and outdoors. I loved the day vs night view.
Overall a great scenic venue for events and celebrations. The food and service weren’t spectacular but what really counted here was the event itself. I had to take one star off for the confusion of assigned tables due to a miscount the event manager admitted to, although the mistake was eventually rectified (a few of us looked puzzled knowing we had the right table number but no more seats… hey, we were still sober then).

I had my wedding at Beckwith Pointe on June 20, 2015. Words cannot fully express my gratitude to Linda and the amazing team, including Maitre D, Angel and Attendant Sheldon. Before the main event took place, Linda was very patient, accommodating and never tried to oversell — even answering emails at all hours of the night. She also recommended the most amazing vendors, all of whom I will review but all deserved accolades here as well — Westchester Floral Decorators, Sal at Magic Moments Video and Ron at True Life Fotos. I could never have imagined a better team. They worked together to make sure everything went off without a hitch. They also worked perfectly with our DJ who was a personal friend. Even in the face of uncertain weather, which caused me to move the ceremony from indoors, to outdoors, only to have it move indoors again — the kindness everyone showed still gets me emotional. Some other things of note — the food from what I hear was AMAZING! I didn’t get time to eat much, but Linda and Sheldon hooked us up with cocktail hour plates in the bridal suite. The extras that seemed a bit excessive were major crowd pleasers, from the mozzarella man, chocolate fondue fountain and carved lamb chops. I am sure that I am leaving out many details that contributed to my wedding being called by many guests as «the best wedding ever», but I highly recommend having your wedding held at Beckwith Pointe.

I don’t know how people who have only been there before the place opens can be critical. This place is tried & true. We had my older daughter’s communion there & I was so impressed we booked it for my younger daughter’s as well. Both parties were flawless. Never once did we feel that service was unprofessional, in fact far from it. The food was terrific, the service was top notch, & the amenities were fine. The view provided us with amazing pictures of our whole family. Definitely recommend & I’m one who is hard to please.

I had my wedding here this past Sunday, and Beckwith was awesome every step of the way. We set our venue appointment up very last minute (a family friend recommended it on a Wednesday even though we were leaving New York on a Saturday). Linda was quick to answer any questions that we had, and she was like that all the way up to the wedding, which was great, because we could only visit the venue one more time for our food tasting (more on that later).
On the day of, I got ready in the bridal suite with my maid of honor and the moms. Linda, Mike, and Brittany were always checking on us to see if we needed anything. Mike ran the rehearsal on Friday with us and then made sure we were ok with everything and knew what to do on Sunday. Sheldon was our attendant and he was awesome! He did everything from making sure I didn’t injure myself on gigantic rocks during pictures (and I’m accident-​prone!) to getting us food from our cocktail hour while we were in the bridal suite. Our maitre’d, Angel, kept everything organized and running smoothly, which I know is hard with two big and loud families and a ton of friends.
We got so many compliments the whole night, especially on the food. We tried just the appetizers during a group tasting in September and those were delicious, but the entrees (especially the wasabi salmon and prime rib) were amazing, and our cake (devil’s food with chocolate chip cannoli cream filling) was so good. They also took care of our guests with dietary needs, so no one left hungry!
Overall, everything was flawless, and we’re already talking about coming back on vacation in the future to visit the beach club!

Killer View!
Maybe the awesomeness of the event gives this place more cred than it should but this had to be one of the best weddings I’ve ever been to. The place was nice and formal enough, the food was the best. However, my friends were so organized and had such great entertainment that I didn’t get to notice any flaws. It came across as a simple, straight forward place that executes well enough.
No stupid throwing of the bouquet, no sleezy garters and no friggin chicken dance. It was such an amazing night, I’m still buzzed.

Came to look at Beckwithe as a potential venue for my wedding last year.
We had an appointment with a gentleman whose name I don’t recall. However, when we got there, he was nowhere in sight and another young woman had to show us around. As she was showing us around, she didn’t seem friendly or as if she wanted to sell us the venue. Also, she was chewing, actually smacking, her gum and texting throughout the time… strike one. I think we all know that professionalism is key when dealing with possible wedding venues/​vendors.
As far as the actual venue… First few steps in, I noticed that both rooms share an entrance, lobby, and bathrooms. Not that I think I’m hot stuff to shut down the place, but at the least, I don’t think I need to be running into another bride and her guests the whole time on my wedding day.
We were looking at the smaller room. The reception room is basically right on the water and the view is gorgeous. However, I thought the layout of the room is so weirdly shaped. And why is the bridal suite in the middle of the place? I was turned off. Strike two.
Lastly, the ceremony would be held outside near the water. The view was very pretty but, again, the shape of the ceremony area was so weird. Also, there was people’s houses right next to the place and their windows could look into the ceremony room. Strike three … you’re outta here!
The bigger room looked better than the other, but still I couldn’t get over the lack of professionalism and the small shared lobby. I wound up booking with Glen Island Harbour Club which was insanely beautiful and the service was impeccable. Judging by the negative reviews on this page, I made a good decision!

Unimpressive. I came here for my cousin’s wedding and I was underwhelmed. It’s a VERY standard reception place, along a street full of much nicer yacht clubs/​country clubs. The food was mediocre: the salad was warm and covered in mostly oil, the steak I had was enormous, too thick, and not very flavorful. The mashed potatoes had very hard lumps of undercooked potato in them, and I didn’t go near the vegetables. My boyfriend’s fish was not as fresh as it could have been. The cooking seemed a bit rushed, maybe? We left hungry and ate a later dinner at home.
The positives: The view of the sound is nice (though we saw two possums crawling along outside the room more than once) and the dance floor is big enough for everyone, which is a definite plus from someone who loves to dance. The drinks were strong and the cocktail hour buffet was actually pretty good, definitely better than the dinner. The staff is very nice and good at their jobs, the bartenders make good drinks and good recommendations.
Overall, not very impressive for all the bourgeois yacht-​clubbiness of the area. One can do better in New York City for the same money with a bit more elegance.

This place is beautiful stand alone… but when compared with other beach clubs on the same street, it’s a mediocre. I’d give ⁸⁄₁₀. There’s SO MUCH parking at this place you’d be surprised! You would never have that issue… plus parking attendants are very attentive and keep the car flow moving smoothly.

We had an 11 A.M. appointment on 9÷23÷13 and no one was in the main reception area to greet us. The place almost seemed abandoned. We hung around for a few minutes and no one ended up knowing that we were even there. There was a female employee in the bathroom that came out and just looked at us and said nothing. She was also on her cell phone. Management at Beckwith need to step it up because we could have been a potential client.

Came here for a wedding at the end of December, the food was really good from what I can remember. The place is nice especially the views and the staff was friendly. The place is a little bit hard to find though and their are a sleuth of other catering halls next to it and in the area.

had my wedding there and the staff was great, the food was great and i decorated so that was beautiful and classic. the lobby is a little old but if the food is good and the dj is good the party will be amazing. everyone keeps telling me my wedding was one of the best.

Perfect! That dose not even start to say what an amazing night we had. Linda was awesome thru out the entire process. She was super clear and led us in the right direction when ever we had questions. All we have heard from out guests was how good the food was, how nice the place was, and what great service we had. With a crowd of 220 adults and 27 children under 12 I was concerned. We also had several allergies, and specialty dinners needed. They had them with out missing a beat. They were super accommodating, and child friendly. I plan to have other events in the location for years to come. They were amazing.

Came here a few weeks ago for a friend from college’s wedding ceremony and reception. This place is really pretty, however the lobby seemed really old and wasn’t decorated as nicely as it could have been. Their furniture and carpeting seemed… old.
My friend’s ceremony was held on their rooftop which lends itself to a beautiful, well-​lit and intimate atmosphere that provides a beautiful view of the water and a clear sky, devoid of skyscrapers or buildings of any sort. This would have been nicer had it not October and ABSOLUTELY FREEZING, however I understand that this is not Beckwith’s fault but Mother Nature’s (and aggressive wedding planning, lol) — still, it made for beautiful pictures and a VERY memorable ceremony.
The reception was great. Service folks and bartenders were friendly and cool. The reception food was pretty good — your typical calamari, seafood paella, breads/​cheese/​cracker/​charceuterie options, penne vodka, steak/​pork slicing station, salad, etc. All pretty enjoyable and fresh.
Their reception hall was very nicely laid out. Tables were large, round, beautifully decorated and plates/​cutlery were all clean and fine. So far so good right? Wrong. Dinner entrees were AWFUL. My guest ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was flavorless and cold. The sauce had no flavor whatsoever and was super watery and weird. I ordered the prime rib — medium rare. What should have been an awesome, juicy and tender piece of meat was a boring, flavorless slab of ick.
Everyone at our table was unhappy with dinner and wishing they’d stuffed themselves more at the cocktail reception. Everyone except the 2 kids at our table — they got fried chicken tenders and Belgian-​style pomme frites… both my meat and my friend’s «Chicken Marsala» were served with really sad looking salads and herb roasted potatoes. The potatoes were edible. I’ll give em that at least.
…Four stars for this place since the dinner entrée was really the only part they failed for me (and since you can’t do things like 3.5 on Unilocal)…awesome bartender and good desert DID make it up for me. It’s hard to stay mad when an open bar wedding is concerned.

Looked at having a wedding here. Very nice staff and adequate accomodations. The strong ‘aroma’ of the sea was a bit too much. The air seemed stuffy in the banquet rooms. I also did not enjoy seeing old men in bathing suits at the beach club next door. Food was decent.
